The political Landscape is constantly changing and influenced by outside forces. The strong connection to the traditional media has evolved to include a new important part, social media. A good way for the politics to utilize social media is through their youth associations, whose main purpose is to engage young people and spark their interest in politics. Due to the increasing influence of social media, the politicians, parties and various actors have to adapt to its demands, to be able to gain visibility on these platforms. One way to adapt is to become more entertainment driven, because these platforms are a safespace where people find time to relax and have a good time. With a growing emphasis on simplified, engaging and more fun political massages, political communication has changed its form. This phenomenon is referred to as ?politainment? and encapsulates the merging of politics and entertainment. The purpose of this study is to examine and measure the frequency of politainment in Swedish political youth associations political communications.

Clearcutting systems have been the dominating silvicultural approach during the last decades in the Nordic countries. While economically rational, it is also leading to a trivialisation of the flora and fauna, and may result in negative reactions of people in urban settings. As a consequence of this, and a more diversified view on which goods and services forests should deliver, there is an increasing interest in broadening the range of silvicultural methods that are used. The term continuous cover forestry (CCF) represents a suite of methods that have gained increasing interest in the Nordic countries. In CCF a considerable amount of the trees are left after harvest to favour values that require a continuity of tree-covered areas. There are thus hopes that this method will meet the needs for maintaining biodiversity and satisfy social and cultural values.

Competing is a well established work model among Swedisharchitects as well as in the international architect work force.Through this study we set out to get better acquainted with thiswork model in theory and in practice, and to hopefully gainknowledge that will be of use to us and to others working in thefield of architecture.Techniques, materials as well as the artistic expression ofcontemporary architecture is international and today?s architectsoperate on a global labour market. Architects often commit to workon assignments far away from where they are based. Therefore,to physically visit the site of interest may be time consuming,expensive as well as harmful to the environment. Is it possible fora designer to accomplish relevant proposals on how to develop andimprove a place that he or she has never visited? May there evenbe situations in which the outsiders point of view is preferable?These are questions that we aim to investigate, and we do sothrough participation in an international design competition.

Arkitekter har länge använt sig av och inspirerats av berättelser för att skapa platser (Alon- Mozes, 2006). Syftet med detta examensarbete var att förstå hur detta kan gå till, vad berättelserna kan innehålla och varför de används. Den inledande delen av examensarbetet ägnade jag därför åt litteraturstudier och samtal med arkitekter. Syftet var också att själv prova ett arbetsätt sominkluderade en berättelse och att därefter reflektera kring arbetet med denna. Berättelser används inte bara som inspiration utan också i syftet att ge enplats mening.

En förtätning av huvudstaden har alltjämt kommit att accepteras som den utgångspunkt efter vilken Stockholm stad ska fortsätta att växa. Hammarbyhöjden och Björkhagen räknas till det område som enligt översiktsplanen pekas ut som den centrala stadens utvidgning och på sikt tror man att 1500-3000 nya bostäder ska kunna rymmas inom de två stadsdelarna. Nytorps gärde utgör ett större grönområde som finns i nära anslutning till Hammarbyhöjden och Björkhagen. Området beskrivs enligt stadens sociotopkarta som en landskapspark där invånarna har möjlighet att ta del av natur, grönska, rekreation, lek, möten och sociala aktiviteter. Parken är lokaliserad i ett attraktivt läge i staden och i takt med att befolkningen i Stockholm ökar och kravet på fler bostäder blir alltmer akut känns det relevant att undersöka möjligheterna till att exploatera området.

The following thesis is a study of the forest history on the island of Ängsön-Marskär concentrating on the last three hundred years. The island is located in the administrative province of Stockholm, the local community of Haninge and it is situated approximately seven kilometres east of the island Ornö in the south of the Stockholm archipelago. The questions this thesis attempts to answer are: How where the natural resources on Ängsön-Marskär used through the centuries? How has the state of the forests developed since the 16th century? How will the nature develop onwards? The thesis is based on archival sources for Ängsön-Marskär and the surrounding areas. A field study was conducted where the entire island was investigated using an objective forest inventory method. The first map material existing over Ängsön-Marskär is from the year 1711.

This degree project studied surface waters on Kåbo Golf Course in Uppsala, Sweden, with the aim of determining the status of the water and how it is affected by the activities of the golf club, and to obtain suggestions of measures to create better conditions for the water environment on and around the golf course. The project forms part of the environmental protection work of Kåbo Golf Club, which is working towards achieving environmental certification from the Swedish Golf Association (SGF). The study is based on literature studies and quantitative and qualitative field studies of water on the golf course, with the focus on environmental factors identified as being important for the golf industry and on strategic environmental goals developed by SGF. The number of open water bodies in the Swedish Landscape has substantially declined during the past 200 years, so it is important to save those that remain. This study showed that the surface water at Kåbo Golf Course is an important element in the surroundings since the area contains few wetlands, which can be a habitat for large numbers of species. The stream and ponds on Kåbo Golf Course also have the important function of serving as water hazards in the game and adding difficulty and variety to the course. Since Kåbo Golf Club wants its surface waters to look aesthetically appealing, extensive algal growth and drying up of ponds during parts of the year are regarded as problems.

I denna uppsats undersöks hur planeringen och utformningen av städerna påverkar invånarnas vardagliga motionerande. Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa behovet av en målmedveten samhällsplanering som avser att främja vardaglig fysisk aktivitet och motionerande i stads-miljö. Ett vidare syfte är att bidra med nya kunskaper om vilka planeringsaspekter som påver-kar människors vardagliga motionerande i staden, så att detta i framtiden ska kunna bidra till att utforma nya underlag och riktlinjer för motionsfrämjande stadsplanering. Idag är en stor del av Sveriges befolkning alldeles för fysiskt inaktiv och stillasittande vilket markant ökar riskerna för en rad allvarliga sjukdomar och hälsotillstånd, och som i sin tur medför enorma kostnader för sjukvård och arbetsbortfall. Att stimulera till ökat vardagligt motionerande är ett effektivt sätt att komma till rätta med detta utbredda folkhälsoproblem, vilket även regeringen framhållit som ett högt prioriterat mål. För att lyckas med detta krävs dock att städerna planeras och utformas för att främja det vardagliga motionerandet. I uppsatsen framkommer det att människors vardagliga motionerande i hög grad påverkas av hur städerna planeras och utformas.

Landskapsanalys och stadsutveckling, en studie av Jonsboda är ett examensarbete som syftar till att undersöka hur en stadsdel kan utvecklas med fokus på det gröna perspektivet. Syftet med arbetet har varit att fördjupa kunskaper inom landskapsplanering och stadsutveckling. För att uppnå dessa syften har målet varit att undersöka hur en av Växjös framtida stadsdelar kan utvecklas med hänsyn till Växjö kommuns mål och landskapets förutsättningar. Arbetet har utförts genom litteraturstudier analys och förslagsarbete. Litteraturen har i första hand gett en bild av områdets historia och förutsättningar som senare legat till grund för analysarbetet.

Tävling som arbetsform kan vara en del av landskapsarkitektyrket. Kommuner och privata aktörer utlyser ofta landskapsarkitekturtävlingar, i samband med nya projekt. Redan under studietiden kan studenter prova på denna arbetsform, som för framtiden kan ge en bra erfarenhet och bli en merit att visa upp som referensprojekt. Linköpings kommun har, i samband med planering av en ny stadsdel, Vallastaden, initierat en allmän tävling. Uppdraget är att omgestalta den redan befintliga lekplatsen Lill-Valla, en attraktiv mötesplats som får utstå hårt tryck och slitage. Målet med detta kandidatarbete är att genomföra ett gestaltande tävlingsförslag som ska vara Linköpings kommun tillhanda den 28 maj 2012.

Sub-lethal doses of neonicotinoids have been shown to negatively impact the health of honeybees. However, most studies to date have exposed bees only artificially to these pesticides under laboratory conditions. There have been just a few well designed and replicated studies of the impacts of realistic neonicotinoid exposure on honeybees foraging under field conditions. In order to close this knowledge gap, and to test the influence of the neonicotinoid clothianidin on honeybees, we used a study system of 16 paired, spatially separated (>4 km) spring oilseed rape fields in the south of Sweden. The fields were paired according to land use, the surrounding Landscape and geographical proximity, using GIS.

To perform a historical record of Beijers Park's development to date is about securing the tracks back in time. The historical record about the park tells not only the history of the park but the city, district, local residents and art of gardening. As the historical story is documented the necessary base for establishment of any care plans in the future and the base for cultural and historical value the park is made. Beijers park can in such work be treated alone or as part of the context of parks that were built during the same era in Malmö's history.Beijers park origin from the era of the late 1800s, when the entire green structure in Malmö changed. The park area today covers 12 hectares and is located in the district Kirseberg.

I have in this essay, studied both the definition of the concepts segregation and integration and how you as an urban planner can promote integration, by working with increased feeling of security and more venues. The aim is to cast light on these two tools and how you within city planning can use them to create a more equal society. To gain a wide base of knowledge, I have studied both government and municipal reports as well as prior investigations where these methods have been used. I have also interviewed a Landscape architect who actively works with questions regarding integration in Malmö, to get information as recent as possible about their work today. Malmö is today a segregated city with large gaps between the residential areas when it comes to economic possibilities and the composition of inhabitants.

Within the field of cinema studies, the question of visual representation is a fundamental pillar. An immense volume of theoretical work has been written on the subject, with various academic approaches such as feministic, postcolonial and gay/lesbian. Yet there is a large social group that seems to have been overlooked within the representational discourse: the elderly. This group of people appears to be a blind spot on the multicultural retina, too often neglected within the area of cultural studies. But as the baby boomer generation, who has always redefined the different stages of life (youth, adulthood, middle age), is entering old age, things are slowly changing.

My objective with the work, Travel Sketches, is to develop an approach to sketching as a Landscape architect in connection with the field trip. Previous experiences and reference places are vital parts during the creation of new design proposals. It is by visiting and experiencing places that valuable knowledge is acquired. By sketching on site, with for example a pen and paper, a bank of reference objects will be established as well as an understanding of their practical success. Experiences and sketching are the basic tools of an architect.
