Preemraff Göteborg, som ligger på Hisingen i Göteborg, framställer drivmedelsprodukter till den svenska och internationella marknaden. Till produktkatalogen tillhör LPG, liquefied petroleum gas, som består av butan- och/eller propangas. Butan och propan är brännbara gaser som kan bilda explosiva blandningar med luft. Följaktligen finns det risker förenade med produktion, hantering och transport av LPG. Gasen som tillverkas leds på raffinaderiet till Skarvikshamnen i 6 km långa pipelines ovan mark.

I denna rapport behandlas en strategi för systemutveckling som kallas för evolutionär prototyping. Evolutionär prototyping innebär att utveckla system i inkrementella bitar där system får växa till ett driftsystem för vidare evolution. Det finns också andra former av prototyping som explorativ, experimentell och kooperativ prototyping där prototyperna kastas bort och ett nytt system konstrueras. Många metodologier finns för att stödja processen att utveckla informationssystem. På grund av tillgången till CASE-verktyg och fjärde generationens utvecklingsverktyg har evolutionär prototyping blivit allt mer populärt i praktiken.

Det här rapporten är en del av mitt examensarbete för högskoleingenjörsexamen i elektroteknik vid Växjö Universitet, MSI. Arbetet är en del av ett större projekt kallat Kranstyrningsprojektet som bedrivs av Växjö Universitet, Rottne Industri med flera, vars syfte är att underlätta för förare att kontrollera den kran som finns på Rottnes skotare. För projektet har det använts en laborationskran och nu har önskemålet varit att det till kranen ska installeras ett nytt styrsystem från dSPACE. Dessutom vill man att nya givare ska sättas på kranen och kopplas till dSPACE. Man vill även ha en manual för att nya studenter ska kunna använda systemet.

Den här rapporten avhandlar Kristin Charlie Torsdotters examensarbete i industriell design vid Högskolan på Gotland. Examensarbetet gick ut på att utforma foajén till det påbörjade bostadshuset SommarRo i Uppsala, samt en sittmöbel till foajén. Projektet genomfördes i samarbete med arkitekterna till bostadshuset, Arcum Arkitekter.Projektets tyngdpunk har legat på att utforma en sittmöbel till foajén. Kravet på möbeln var att den inte bara ska vara funktionell och tilltalande utan att den även ska fungera som en installation i rummet. Möbeln skall även binda samman foajén med den övriga byggnaden samtidigt som den ska ha ett tydligt samband med byggnadens överliggande tema: modern japansk design med inslag av skandinavisk samtida design.Arbetet har skett i enlighet med design metodikens olika faser.

The idea with constructions made out of prefabricated elements is that it should be quick and easy to build as the demands for lower production costs, increased profitability and shorter production times are constantly increasing. High accuracy in measurements and well-balanced tolerances is required to achieve this. The fact that the concrete-elements doesn?t fit and that damage occurs during assembly is a highly topical issue even though we now have methods and systems that make this high-intensity construction possible. Through this report we want to highlight the problems that cause the dimensional and tolerance problems and give suggestions on how to come to terms with these.

Today, the requirements on doors and door sections in buildings are often many andtightly restricted. Especially in public buildings, the requirements for safety andfunctionality must cover the needs of larger groups of people. These strictrequirements have often led to doors and door sections in public buildings being verycomplex and difficult to correctly install without any complications.This diploma work has been carried out in cooperation with Werket Architects,which estimates a high percentage of flaws regarding aforementioned components, inprojects of the type described. The company therefore wanted to investigate howthey could develop their remit in door production, which is the projection and designof blueprints. By taking part of installers opinions on how they want the blueprints ofdoors and door - sections to be designed for the best installation possibilities,develop¬ment areas, and to some extent improvements regarding the company's useof accounting techniques, could be provided to the company.The study shows, among other things, that there is a possibility of development in thefunctional descriptions that entail the doors' fitting components.

I svalhallen vid SSAB i Luleå sker det en omfattande energiförlust till omgivningen då stora mängder nyproducerat stål svalnar. I detta examensarbete studeras möjligheten att ta till vara den energin för att producera el med hjälp av Organisk Rankine Cykel (ORC) teknik. En viktig förbehållning är att inte nuvarande stålproduktion på något sätt får hindras. I arbetet undersöktes svalhallens förutsättningar och möjliga hinder för installation av en ORC. Det gjordes även en litteraturstudie över olika värmeväxlingssätt som kan appliceras på svalnande stålämnen.

This thesis aims to contribute to improved functional procurement of photovoltaic systems, PV systems. Functional procurement means that criteria concerning a function are set rather than specifying technical details or products. Possible advantages and difficulties in using functional procurement have been analyzed by interviews, simulations and a case study. Electricity production and surplus production for different scenarios have been simulated via MATLAB. The MATLAB script was also used to generate rules of thumb on feasible solar fraction for six different load profiles; a church, a farm, a car mechanic, an office, an industry and an apartment building.

This master thesis work was done by two students at Machine Design at KTH for Lesjöfors Stockholmsfjäder AB. The task was to develop a calculation program for gas springs. The program is going to ease the selection of gas springs for a given case of a lid that should be opened. The program is going to be used internal by sales people at Lesjöfors AB in Sweden and internationally. The program is therefore written in English.The program was developed in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition.

The assignment is issued by Scania Maintence AB seeking a new approach to detect power changes in their industrial processes. The work has taken place at Ångströmslaboratoriet and tests have been performed at Scania AB Södertälje.Today?s society consumes enormous amount of energy. In both economically and environmental view, it is important that the processes are effective, with high power factor. There are many ways to measure power in the industry, what they all have in common is that the installation is advanced, requires time and planning.

The construction process which is used today while constructing residential buildings has for along time remained unchanged. Unfortunately the development process has gone away frombecoming industrialized and instead most of the work is done at the construction site. In thisrespect this is a worse alternative because the project outcome will be more expensive and theconstruction time will be longer. Skanska?s vision is to have a process which is more like the oneused in small residential buildings which is fully industrialized.The constructing process for residential building involves more parties and therefore it becomesmore complicated.

Denna studie unders?ker en alternativ utformning av termisk brandgasventilation. Utformningen bygger p? att ers?tta tillufts?ppningar i markplan med r?kgasluckor i tak med hj?lp av brandteknisk installation i form av r?kgardin. Syftet med arbetet har varit att g?ra en j?mf?relse mellan denna hypotetiska utformning och traditionell brandgasventilation f?r att kunna utv?rdera om samma effekt kan uppn?s med de olika metoderna.

Arbetet behandlade vilka konsekvenser inom driften (ekonomiska kostnader och teknologi) som rederier kommer att drabbas av när IMO:s barlastkonvention träder i kraft då barlastvattnet måste renas innan inträde i Östersjön. Arbetets syfte var att få fram vilka konsekvenser det blir för rederier när IMO:s barlastkonvention träder i kraft. Resultatet skulle jämföra skillnaden mellan lag och rekommendation då Helsingforskonventionens rekommendationer baseras på IMO:s barlastkonventions krav. En kvalitativ metod valdes för att komma fram till resultatet, i form av en öppen intervjustudie, där fyra olika företag har intervjuats. Syftet med intervjuerna var att se ifall de följde Helsingforskonventionens rekommendationer och vilka konsekvenser det skulle innebära och skulle komma att krävas då Barlastkonventionen träder i kraft.

For a long period of time there have been discussions about the need to modernize, to keep up with the changes in our society. The schools as a result have to keep up and adapt in order for the education to be up-to-date. This includes the technological developments. Many steps have been taken and mighty sums have been invested in order to keep up the pace ? but are there any consequences from these kinds of investments? In this report I?m going to take a closer look on a recent addition to this phenomenon that were installed by means of a top-down approach and study the teachers and how they have adapted and view the change in their environment ? namely the newly installed interactive writing-boards.The questions I will study include how the teachers express their view about the installation of the interactive writing-boards.

The aim of the study was to install a biogas system consisting of three tubular polyethylene biogas digesters at a rural household in Malawi and to evaluate the constructed biogas system with regards to relevant system parameters. The purpose was to evaluate if the technology is a possible solution to reduce deforestation and support Malawi in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The study was carried out in the southern part of Malawi in cooperation with the University of Malawi. Locally available materials were used to construct and install the system. Three different feed materials, cow, goat and a mix of cow and goat manure, were used in order to determine which one was best suited to utilise as a digester substrate. After the installation, measurements of temperature, pH, biogas production, biogas composition and system functionality were made. The results of the study show that a biogas system with tubular polyethylene biogas digesters can be successfully installed at a rural household and that the most suitable feed material is a mix of cow and goat manure.
