This thesis within the field of Integrated Product development at the Royal Insitute ofTechnology, performed at Primary Development Dishcare at AB Electrolux, is supposed to finda solution to enhance the hygiene inside an Electrolux dishwasher. The outcomes of this thesisare functional prototypes to evaluate the efficiency of disinfection by the use of Ultra VioletLight and Ozone.The thesis has followed Electrolux Primary Development process, with delivarables andcheckpoints.Ultra violett light with a wavelength of around 264 nm penetrates through the cell wall ofbacteria and micro organisms and causes a molecular rearrangement of the cells DNA. Thisprevent the bacteria from reproducing and it is considered dead. Commonly used UV-C lampstransmits the wavelength 254 nm which is very close to the optimum for germicidal action.A competitive brand have reacently launched a dishwasher claiming to achieve greaterdisinfection with an UV feature. This dishwasher was tested during the thesis and proven tohave a very low effect on the hygienic result.Two prototypes were devolped and tested for UV disinfection of dishware.

Detta är en kvalitativ studie där vi använder diskursanalys som metod för att undersöka hur media framställer hedersmord och om detta har förändrats över tid. De mest uppmärksammade hedersmorden i Sverige är morden på Maisam Abed Ali (Sara), Pela Atroshi, Fadime Sahindal och Maria Barin Aydin och är föremål för vår granskning. Genom att undersöka de tidningsartiklar som skrevs i samband med morden på Sara, Pela och Fadime, 1996-2002, och jämföra dessa med de artiklar som skrevs efter mordet på Maria, 2012-2013, vill vi identifiera diskursiva skillnader. Vår teoretiska ram består av radikalfeministiskt-, kulturellt- och intersektionellt perspektiv som vi använder för att analysera vårt resultat. Det vi kan konstatera är att det skedde en gradvis skiftning av diskursen under den första perioden, där majoriteten av artiklarna till en början förde en debatt om huruvida hedersmord är kulturellt betingat eller en del av det universella patriarkala våldet.

The 1900s saw two incidents of states using their military in civil disorder situations, which resulted in the Killing of unarmed citizens. May 14, 1931 in Ådalen, marks a significant part of Swedish history and its view of the use of military force.  On that day, a peaceful protest march escalated, which resulted in live firing by the military stationed there to uphold law and order. This resulted in the deaths of five civilians and the prohibition of the use of military force in incidents of civil disorder. In 1972 in Northern Ireland a similar event took place on January 30, which is commonly known as Bloody Sunday. The Troubles were raging and resulted in protests for civil rights by nationalists.

AbstractWith the murder of Fadime in 2002 honor Killings and honour related oppression became a subject of wide public debate. The question was raised whether the Swedish social services had the knowledge and the resources necessary to face the issue with honor related oppression.This study is about the views on honor related oppression among oppressed women and professional social workers and aims to explore the relationship between social worker and client in an honor related context. Does the risk of culture clashes pose a problem in dealing with the Swedish authorities and do Swedish social workers have the necessary tools to help the, often young, oppressed women that seek their aid? This is a qualitative study based on five individual interviews: Two former victims of honour related oppression, two professional social workers and one relative of a young girl who was the victim of an honor Killing.Observations:The social workers found that they had adequate resources at hand but that awareness among employees in the social services needed to be improved.The clients felt that the help they?ve received from the social services was helpful but that more information to the public about available resources was necessary along with a better understanding of the differences between their own culture and that of the Swedish society. The clients expressed that the realization that they were being oppressed didn?t come overnight.

The purpose of this study is to overlook Nordic medias news coverage and framing of Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik. The study is based on printed editions of Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter and the Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet set on nine selected dates related to the issue between July 23th 2011 to August 25th 2012.   The study will display how Breivik was framed by each of the Nordic newspapers and even the total amount of news coverage the issue has been given. The media framing part of the study will mainly focus on the media framing of Breiviks personality and political ideology. The study will also investigate each newspapers handling of Breiviks manifesto, which he published only hours before Killing 77 people on July 22th 2011. The study is a quantitative content analysis, containing a total number of 245 articles.

Animal welfare during transport has for a long time been a problem around the world. Many animals are transported in stressful environments for slaughter. Even during Roman and Antiquity times wild animals were transported from Africa to the amusement parks in Rome. The aim of our work was to compare how well Sweden and Denmark are performing their inspections of transports of cattle and pigs for slaughter. Today, overloaded transports and poor treatment is not uncommon in Europe and every year 22 million animals are transported between countries.

Hedersrelaterat våld har inga gränser. Det sker inte endast i ett land, av ett folk med en specifik etnicitet, kultur eller religion. Hedersrelaterat våld existerar världen runt, även i Sverige. Mordet på Fadime Sahindal fick internationell uppmärksamhet och folk var i chock, speciellt den svenska regeringen som länge försökte förneka våldets existens i vårt avlånga jämställda land. Hedersrelaterat våld är en kategori av våld som i de flesta fall drabbar unga kvinnor som vägrar att infinna sig i familjens eller släktens normer och regler.

Magdalena Rudenschöld (born 1766, died 1823) was a woman in Swedish history, who lived a turbulent life. As a young woman she was employed at the Swedish court and got to know the king of that time, Gustaf III, and she became the mistress of one of his closest deputies, Gustaf Mauritz Armfelt. After the Killing of Gustaf III, a temporary government was formed. This was a regency that was put there on behalf of Prince Gustaf Adolf, since he was not yet of age to run the country. Detta kan medföra att livsmedelsproducerande djur i Sverige kommer att utsättas för värmebelastning under perioder vilket kan ha negativa effekter på djurens produktion och välfärd. Då vetskapen om hur svenska lantrasgetter påverkas av värme är begränsad var syftet med den här studien dels att se vilka effekter värme har fysiologiskt, beteendemässigt och produktionsmässigt på djuren, samt att undersöka om getterna efter en tid i förhöjd omgivningstemperatur kunde acklimatisera sig till denna. Sju lakterande svenska lantrasgetter med varsin Killing inhystes i en omgivningstemperatur mellan 28,8 och 35,1?C under dagtid i 15 dagar.

Vaccination of fish can be assumed to cause pain. This study was designed to see if we can minimize the suffering of fish following vaccination. Fishes are cold-blooded animals and thus more primitive than warm-blooded animals. Despite this, many organs, e.g. the nervous system, have the same basic structure as that of other vertebrates. The fibre system for conducting pain is more diffuse than in humans.

Aggression between laboratory mice is a common problem and can result in welfare issues such as mice hurting or Killing each other and also stress. Swedish laws and regulations clearly states that mice must be housed with a companion due to their natural social structure. Many studies have investigated the effect off enrichment, group size, cage size and other potential changes in in their environment on the occurrence of aggression. Even with these changes aggression can exist and therefore a new solution was tested in this paper. The proposed solution was to house an intact mouse with a castrated one and thus fulfill laws and regulations while still maintaining the physiology of one of the mice for the purpose of medical experiments.
