Anne Rices Interview with the Vampire - en gotisk Lolita
Part of the great acclaim for Anne Rice?s Interview with the Vampire (1976) is due to the wayshe renews the vampire story by reinforcing the traditional erotic dimension and, as a result ofthis, the way she examines the theme of homosexuality already present in Bram Stoker?sDracula (1897). However, this essay shows that Rice?s novel stands in much closer relation toVladimir Nabokov?s Lolita (1955) than to Dracula and that pedophilia, not homosexuality, isthe facet of sexuality which here first and foremost comes into focus. Through a comparisonbetween Interview with the Vampire and Lolita emerges a surprising coherence on the levelsof plot and characterization, which in itself is of importance for our understanding of Rice?snovel as well as Lolita, but it is also interesting to note to what degree these two novels sharea world of concepts and ideas common to actual pedophiles.
Genreindelningen i Ungdomsrummet på Mariehemsbiblioteket : en utvärdering
Uppsatsen fokuserar på informationssökning i sociala nätverk och om vi vet tillräckligt om de resurser som finns i våra nätverk för att det ska kunna kallas socialt kapital. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur medvetna gymnasieelever är om potentiella informationskällor inom ramen för deras sociala nätverk, och vidare om den kunskapen i praktiken möjliggör informationssökning i nätverket. Tre frågeställningar har varit centrala för uppsatsen: (1) Hur långt sträcker sig elevernas kunskap om deras respektive sociala nätverk? (2) Kan de lokalisera potentiella informationskällor? Och slutligen (3) vilka faktorer kan eventuellt hindra användning av nätverket som en informationsresurs? Djupintervjuer med fem gymnasieelever visar att respondenterna generellt ser två till tre steg bort i nätverket. I majoriteten av fallen vet även respondenterna tillräckligt om sina nätverk för att lokalisera potentiella informanter i de situationer som diskuterades.

In this study we have investigated the news interview both from the perspective of the journalists and of the subjects of the interview.We have made interviews with 50 persons who participated as sources in the news and with 21 journalist who wrote the articles in the local newspapers Östran and Barometern in Kalmar, the 21 of November 2008.The journalists were asked to tell their story of how the articles where produced, how they prepared before the interviews, if they had an image of the articles in advance and if they were satisfied with the outcome of the article. The persons who had been interviewed were asked to tell us how they felt about the interviews, if they were satisfied with the outcome of the article, if they could consider being in the newspaper again and to give their opinion of local journalism.Most of the persons who had been quoted in the articles said that at least one or two things went wrong in the articles. Despite this they would not hesitate to be interviewed the newspaper again.Surprising for us was to see how often the journalists get ?served? with both the news and the subjects of the interview. It was for an example often that the Journalists visited press conferences and wrote articles from press releases.

Title: Playing techniques of the eight-keyed traverso in Irish and Breton traditional music. The dissertation examines basic aspects of playing techniques of the eight-keyed traverso, as it is used in Irish and Breton traditional music. The background material consists of four interviews with four professional flute players as well as literature that considers the subject from different perspectives. The results reveals a consensus between those of the informants that are mainly playing Irish music while the informant that is mainly playing Breton music has a different approach to several of the technical aspects examined.Examensarbetet behandlar grundläggande spelteknik på åttaklaffig traversflöjt inom bretonsk och irländsk folkmusik. Studiens underlag består av intervjuer med fyra professionella flöjtister samt av litteratur som belyser ämnet från olika perspektiv.
Diskurser i referenssamtalet: En diskurspsykologisk studie
This Master's thesis aims to investigate the reference interview using the discourse analytical method discourse psychology. The reference interview has been studied thoroughly, and its importance has been proven repeatedly within the field of Library and Information Science (LIS). However, it has never been studied from a discourse analytical point of view before.The material for our study was gathered at Malmö public library, and consists of 10 tape-recorded and then transcribed reference interviews. Our study shows that there are several discourses within the reference situation. The dominating discourse, the reference interview discourse, is found within all the reference interviews.

AbstractThe aim of the thesis was to examine some older people's experiences of everyday life and how it is to grow old in Namibia today. Because everyday life is a broad concept, we chose to focus on some specific parts of everyday life. These are chores, family, work/education, elderly past and present and the government/society. Furthermore we chose to look at the similarities and differences between the experiences on the basis of gender, race/ethnic groups and class.We chose to use a qualitative research method and to be inspired by life stories. We used a semi-structured interview guide and interviewed six people between 70 and 89 years.

Before the interview´s a study of relevant research literature was made.The main purpose with the essay, is to study if the informant?s life paths have been affected by their bilingualism, i.e. if the informers moves and education etc.

Med språket i centrum : Undervisning i svenska som andraspråk i den mångkulturella grundskolan
The aim was to find out teachers in Swedish as a second language in primary schools view on how they work with a language development teaching in a multicultural environment. I did a semi-structured interview where I both made questions before the interview and also used individualized follow-up questions during my interview. I did that because I really wanted to get answers to the subject and the aim of the essay. Two teachers in Swedish as a second language have been interviewed. The result shows that a holistic approach to language development is important, where great emphasis lies on understanding. Teachers say that communication and interaction are key factors and that it is important with good linguistically appropriate and understandable texts where the words/concepts are learned and used in the right context. .

Studien Att prata normalt ? En studie av 12 ungdomars attityder till dialekter och sambandet mellan dessa och deras eget språkbruk, är en undersökande studie av ungdomars attityder till dialekter i allmänhet och sin egen dialekt boråsiskan i synnerhet. Syftet med studien är att utreda attityders påverkan på det egna språkbruket, samt om resultatet varierar anmärkningsvärt mellan den studieförberedande och den yrkesförberedande gymnasieutbildningen respektive mellan de kvinnliga och manliga informanterna.Undersökningen konkretiseras genom följande forskningsfrågor:*Skiljer sig individernas definition av begreppet dialekt från den vetenskapliga definitionen?*Hur definierar individerna sin egen dialekt och till vilken grad anser de att de själva talar den? Finns det någon svårighet i definitionen?*Finns det någon skillnad i mängden dialektala varianter när det gäller attityder, lokalintegration, utbildning och kön hos informanterna?Studien utgår från material hämtat från projektet Dialektutjämning i Västsverige och består av enkäter, intervjuer och analyser av mängden dialektala varianter.Tidigare forskning inom ämnet säger att manliga individer talar mer dialekt än kvinnliga, samt att individer som går på yrkesförberedande utbildningar talar mer dialekt än de på studieförberedande. Individer som inte är lokaltintegrerade tenderar även att vara mer mottagliga för språkliga förändringar.Till skillnad från tidigare kvantitativa undersökningar visar studien att den informant som har flest dialektala varianter är en pojke som går en studieförberedande utbildning och att den typiske dialekttalaren är av det kvinnliga könet samt går en studieförberedande utbildning.

The Purpose of this study is to contribute knowledge on and to make the preschool teachers views visible about physical contact between children in wild play in the preschool. I decide to use interview of preschool teachers in a group setting as a mean to investigate this. The group interview is a non-structured interview with open questions where the preschool teachers only received guidance with pre made questions when needed.The result shows what kind of view the preschool teachers have on physical contact and they share concreate examples on how they work in situations like these.By reading this study I hope to contribute better knowledge of the physical contract between children and that the study generates futher reflections on one´s attitude in the matter..

This bachelor thesis is about communication problems and treatment during the reference interview. The purpose was to investigate the reasons of why users? information needs are not always understood by the librarian and what to do about it. I have also investigated what kind of skills that can be useful for librarians to have and how a librarian can act in a way that makes the user feel welcome during the reference interview. The method I used was a literature study and an own study through interviews of library users.
Shame on you! A study of how individuals handle the feeling of shame.
The aim with this thesis was to acquire an understanding for how individuals handle the feeling of shame in connection with cultural consumption. In order to capture the feeling of shame we developed an interview method called the Backstabber interview technique. We found that the Backstabber interview technique successfully triggered feelings of shame in connection to cultural consumption, which made it possible for us to study the handling of shame. We found that our respondents tended to use different forms of accounts in order to handle the feeling of shame. We categorized them into five accounts with relating sub-accounts.
Kommunikationseffektivitet och kommunikationsstrategier för L1- och L2-talare i referentiella problemlösningsuppgifter
This thesis examines and measures differences in effciency between L1- and L2 language use for solving referential problems. Quantitative measures used in the study were time and error frequency. Qualitative measures, such as how the tasks and the participants own performance were experienced, were measured by an post interview and two questionaires. Two different tasks, a sorting task and a construction task, in which each informant was given the role as a constructor or instructor, were used for data gathering. A total of 20 dyads, divided in two language groups (English and Swedish) participated in the study.
