The aim for the project was to develop a risk analyse tool for measuring the fire safety level in Cultural Heritage buildings of Visby, Gotland. In 1995 Visby were taken into the Unesco:s World Heritage List with the explanation ?Visby is an outstanding example of a Northern European walled Hanseatic town which has in a unique way preserved its townscape and its extremely valuable buildings? One of the demands for the tool was that it should be easy to use and result into a ranking level in examined buildings. The user of the tool is recommended to be personnel in the fire department. To develop the tool a Multi Attribute Decision Making (MADM) method was used.

I found out that chatting, music/movies, searching for information and using the Internet for entertainment is what most of the participants spent the most time on while using the Internet.

Aim: The main purpose of this thesis was to investigate how the employees experience theinternal communication and to examine the channels they communitace trough betweenthe departments at Blå Stället in Sweden. This task was given by the unit chiefs at thecompany who?ve seen a need to investigate and improve their internal communication.The goal is therefore also to produce concrete and well-founded proposals on how theinternal communication can bee improved at Blå Stället. Relevant Theoretical frame ofreference was internal communication, information, communication channels, formaland informal communication. To collect data from employees I made six interviews,one from every department and two informers.

Trough the contact with the HR (Human Resources) department of home care management in Halmstad municipality, emerged from the management a wish for a documentation for what should be included in leadership at middle management level in the future. People in middle management positions have a large impact on the operation staff and are also in charge of the individual corporate performance and its success. As we have previously been active in the management of multiple role configurations, including middle-management positions, we have some prior understanding of the complexity of this position. The study was conducted with the aim to investigate different aspects of what leadership for middle managers in home care management in Halmstad municipality may mean to them. With the help of different theories and models various aspects were analyzed due to the impact of leadership.Due to the studies purpose and questions, two focus groups was conducted and interviews with respondents from both the lower and superior positions in home care management in Halmstad municipality was done.

Inom akutsjukvården är en stor del patienterna 65 år och äldre, vilket innebär att en stor del av vården vid en akutmottagning omfattas av bemötande och omhändertagande av äldre patienter. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att belysa hur äldre personer beskriver att deras behov av omvårdnad blir tillgodosett av omvårdnadspersonal vid akutmottagning. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie där 13 artiklar granskades. Resultat: Resultatet visade att många äldre hade en negativ upplevelse av sin vistelse på akutmottagningen. Många fick vänta länge och fick inte sina basala behov tillgodosedda såsom t.ex.

This report describes the planning and the accomplishment of the final diploma workat the study program Mechanical Engineering, Department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University. Two students carried out the diploma work at GE HealthcareHusbyborg in Uppsala.The aim of the diploma work was to develop and improve existing processequipment for 11C-radiochemistry in PET. The process equipment was to be dividedinto smaller independent modules to make it more flexible. Part of the existingprocess equipment is an oven that is supposed to perform a specific chemicalreaction. One of the main goals was to study and improve this oven.The work could be divided into three main phases: 1.Present concepts for one module, and interface between different modules.

En intervjustudie om maskulinitet och våld i det lokalpolitiska                       samtalet. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka lokalpolitikers uppfattningar om våld och se om dessa uppfattningar kan ge några förklaringar till varför det inte bedrivs ett våldspreventivt arbete inom ramen för det kommunala jämställdhetsarbetet. Grundad teori är den kvalitativa och induktiva metod som har använts vid datainsamling och databearbetning i denna studie. Fem lokalpolitiker intervjuades och ur detta intervjumaterial framkom följande tre huvudkategorier: våldsdefinition, våldsprevention och mäns överrepresentation.Resultatet visar att våld är ett brett begrepp där fysiskt våld och psykiskt våld är de två huvudsakliga definitionerna som görs. Däremot framkom inte sexualiserat våld att uppenbart ingå i definitionen av våld.Våldspreventionens tydligaste riktningar är det kommunala arbetet som syftar till att öka tryggheten i den offentliga miljön för invånarna i kommunen.

Completed durability testing of gearshift gaiters at Kongsberg Automotive in Mullsjö, is sometimes leading to discussions regarding whether or not a gaiter is supposed to be a pass or a fail. That is because the current pass/fail-criterion are a bit vague. A durability test takes around 4-5 weeks to complete which is a long time if the tested material does not pass the test and a new material has to be tested instead. Stricter pass/fail-criterions and a faster testing method for the materials are therefore desired.In order to develop a durable pass/fail criteria, seven already judged gaiters were chosen. Every one of the gaiters was put through detailed analysis, after which there were a new assessment of the gaiters.

This thesis has been done at the powder department (GH) at AB Sandvik Coromant in Gimo. With a rheometer measurements has been made on raw materials and powder blends. The focus of this report has been to find correlations between raw material powders and press data, comparisons have also been made between raw materials and powder blends.The rheometer can show information of how a powder act in flow conditions, together with air and with pressure. Analyses has been done comparing the rheometer data with press parameters (for example: rejected orders, weight variations and the compaction pressure) with the goal to find correlations between the powders flow properties and the powders compaction in production.The measurements and analyses have been showing that the powder flow properties depends on the powders composition and that properties like flow rate, aeration and permeability varies between powder blends and batches of the same powder sort. It seems to exist a correlation between the pressure force and the flow rate of a raw material.

The report is a result of a bachelor thesis at the department of business administration, School of Business, Economics and Law, Gothenburg University, spring term 2008. The study examines the potential return of Swedish Venture Capital firms? Cleantech investments, carried out in 2006 and 2007, compared to the return on their other investments.The study has identified a number of factors affecting the return. These have been classified within three areas: the characteristics of the Venture Capital investment, the characteristics of the Venture Capital firm and the market potential for Cleantech. The impacts on potential return for these factors are investigated by means of an interview survey with 18 Swedish Venture Capital firm covering 45 investments in Cleantech.Our research indicates a worse potential return on Cleantech investments compared to other investments.

Antalet patienter som söker sig till akutmottagning på grund av smärta är mycket omfattande. Smärta är en subjektiv upplevelse, därför är smärtlindring en komplex omvårdnadshandling som ställer höga krav på sjuksköterskans kompetens. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa vad som påverkar sjuksköterskors omvårdnad vid smärtlindring av vuxna patienter på akutmottagning. Studien genomfördes med en systematisk litteratursökning med utgångspunkt i problemformuleringen. Genom strukturerade sökningar identifierades, granskades och analyserades relevant forskning inom området.

Some accept it, others do not. The purpose of this study was to analyze recent appropriations of works of art in advertising. Why was art infused into magazine advertisements, how were the works of art tampered with to achieve commercial goals, how well did they function together with the ad copy? What did these advertisements want? What did the artwork contribute to the commercial message? These were some of the questions asked in the study that involved a closer look at four appropriations: one based on a battle painting by the Swedish 1900th century artist Carl Wahlbom, with a commercial message printed on top;  one a collage including an 18th century portrait of Marie Antoinettte by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun; one advertisement was influenced by Dutch 1700th century still lifes, and, finally, one paraphrased Velázquez?s famous painting Las Meninas from 1655. Companies behind the advertisements featured a Swedish trade journal, a fashion exhibition in Paris, a shop for kitchen utensils in Stockholm, and an up-scale department store in Madrid.The ads, in different ways based on works of art, were evaluated as reasonably successful commercial messages. These ads, however, hardly qualified as works of art in their own right ? if that was the intention.

Injuries and sick-leave is a common feature for reinforcement workers today. This is mainlydue to the fact that reinforcement work is done in an exposed environment with many stressfactors and highly repetitive work. These operations are often carried out in unsuitableworking positions, these positions creates a major burden on the bones and joints and causesmicro- damages on muscles. With repetitive work these injuries are not given time to healproperly and will gradually become worse.The body will not be able to handle the stress of working in a work environment such as thisand musculoskeletal disorders can be a result of this. The injury will make itself known aspain in the musculoskeletal system and causes reduced movability; the injured worker willtherefore not be able to perform the same work tasks as before.

Denna problematik skall dock inte förlöjligas utan måste sättas i relation till de omständigheter som skapat den.De tidigare socialistiskt präglade staterna har varit tvungna att anpassa sig till markandsekonomin med förändrade efterfrågemönster och nya konkurrenssituationer. Dessa förhållanden kan verka självklara för ett västeuropeiskt land, men för ett post- kommunistiskt land där marknadsföring och destinationsutveckling i princip inte existerat, var de här förutsättningarna något nytt.
