This essay investigates how the author Oline Stig creates identities for her main characters in three short stories; Midsommar, Polly Maggoo and Den längsta dagen from the collection Den andra himlen (2007).My investigation is based on concepts chosen from psychology and narratology: First, Jonas Stier?s definition of human identity. In his definition he focuses on a person?s social context. He also considers identity formation as an ongoing, ever- changing process.

Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka ett område som i mina ögon är relativt lite behandlat, nämligen domänkunskap. Denna förvärvas i systemutvecklingens första fas, analysen.I den litteratur som jag har studerat påpekar flera forskare att en systemutvecklingsgrupp bär ha god domänkunskap, Vad som saknas hos flera av dem var en definition av begreppet domänkunskap, dvs det som de själva ansåg vara viktigt för systemutvecklarna.Avsikten med studien blev att undersöka vad systemexperter lägger i begreppet domänkunskap. Detta ledde till problemformuleringen " Några svenska systemexperters definition av domänkunskap, hur den förvärvas samt några utvecklingstrender".För att behandla problemformuleringen valdes halvstrukturerad intervjusom undersökningsmetod. 12 systemexperter från sju företag intervjuades.De viktigaste slutsatserna av studien är:· Det tycks inte finnas någon koncensus om begreppet domänkunskap.· Vid förvärvandet av domänkunskap arbetar man mest med intervjuer och/eller brainstorming och därefter prototyper.· Studien har inte gett svar på hur mycket resurser som läggs på analys. Flertalet intervjuade ansåg dock att man bör tilldela analysen mer resurser i framtiden.· Utvecklingen går mot att analysen kommer att få en mer central roll..

Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka hur Internet användes när personuppgiftslagen skrevs och hur dagens teknik möjliggjort spridning av allmänna handlingar på Internet. Vi har även undersökt när behandling av personuppgifter är förbjudet och de undantag som finns i lagen som särskilt har kunnat innebära en integritetskränkning för den enskilde. Personuppgiftslagen antogs under samma period som Internet hade en explosionsartad utveckling. Detta medförde en svårighet för lagstiftaren att förutse på vilket sätt information i framtiden skulle kunna komma att behandlas. Personuppgiftslagen förbjuder all behandling av personuppgifter men är subsidiär och innehåller ett flertal undantag som har gjort det svårt att angripa kränkande behandling av personuppgifter som spridits på Internet.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the concept of empowerment and its meaning in the political document "En Förnyad Folkhälsopolitik" from the present Swedish government, containing guidelines and politics in the area of public health. The underlying question was if it could be considered as representative for some kind of general "empowerment approach" since the concept is central to the very definition of social work by the International Federation of Social Workers IFSW and International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).By comparing its definition and consequences in the document with a historical review of different contexts of empowerment the conclusion was made that such a common approach doesn´t exist at all. The meaning of empowerment in the central document showed some similarities with the "northamerican" version of the concept represented by the social scientist Charles Murray, which is just one of the political meanings of empowerment. Alternative ways of understanding the concept was also presented such as being a tool of a constant conflict between central political principles or as a fashionable but not important word. Another alternative was to consider it a means of power through witch different political discourses tries to dominate the world..

Inom svensk rätt tillkom 1994 ett nytt institut inom lagstiftningen nämligen skuldsaneringslagen. Denna lag är väl diskuterad och snart omgjord i den nya skuldsaneringslagen som skall träda i kraft januari 2007. Syftet med denna framställning var att utreda rättsläget i den gamla lagen med hjälp av traditionell juridisk metod. Men även studera den nya lagens innebörd och förändringar mellan den nya och den gamla lagen. Skuldsaneringens huvudsyfte är att verka rehabiliterande för de gäldenärer som blir beviljad det. Meningen är att lagen skall verka preventivt, alltså så att färre personer skall hamna i denna "övermäktiga" skuldsituation.

The Swedish public library was founded in the years when the society in Sweden went from being a society of agriculture to industrialism. Modernism was sweeping over the country, everything was possible, which influenced the new society that was built. Now Sweden was going to be a true democracy with responsible and empathic citizens. One of the main tools in this process was to educate people, to get them to read and write and the public library fitted very well into these new ideas. It represented a place, free of charge, where everyone could go to take part of the knowledge and cultural learning that they needed in order to become the citizen that the society required.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), företegets sociala ansvar saknar en universell definition. Det är upp till varje individ och företag att själva välja definition och ansvarsområde. Allt flera företag väljer att kommunicera sitt sociala ansvar genom CSR- rapporter även kallade hållbarhetsrapporter. Det teoretiska ramverket visar att företag som agerar på en oetisk marknad har en tendens att offentliggöra sitt CSR- arbete i högre grad än etiska företag. Syftet med denna studie är observera om det finns en skillnad i kommunikationen av CSR-arbete mellan etiska företag och företag som agerar på en oetisk bransch.

Thesis purpose The study aims to examine the effects vertical and horizontal line extensions might have on the total parent brand equity in terms of strength and its baseline product regarding of market share, loyalty and penetration under an elapsed period of time. The study aims to investigate a number of actual conducted line extensions effect on the above mentioned aspects of Kellers (1993) definition of brand strength as a part of the total brand equity. Methodology The effect of a number of line extensions of the parent brands and the baseline products is being examined in terms of market share, loyalty rate, cannibalization and market penetration. The thesis is focused on the correlations between these different parameters during a certain elapsed time ratio in order to test our theoretically routed hypothesizes in a deductive manner. Occasional correlations are derived from an indexation of data collected from the Gfk database. Theoretical perspective The study is derived from Kapferers (2004) definition of brand equity, where he is dividing the concept into three parts. This study is focused on Brand strength in particular, which is one of the parameters in the above-mentioned theory.

This paper deals with institutional and structural factors' influence on democratic transition in limited multiparty regimes in Sub-Saharan Africa. Comparing the cases Kenya and Tanzania, of which the former has made a transition to democracy and the latter has not, this paper reaches the conclusion that political traditions, the coalescing of the opposition, and the elites ability to learn from the electoral process is essential for a transition to democracy. In the specific cases, the harshness of the Moi regime and the Tanzanian vision of national unity may possibly carry some explanatory power, alongside the pressure from international actors.These results have been reached through the application of a comparative case study, where democratic transition constitutes the dependent variable. It should be noted that a harsh definition of the term transition has been applied, according to which the incumbents actual loss of an election is a necessary indicator for transition. However, the Freedom House and Polity scores have been brought up as complement of this definition.

Background/aim: The purpose of this sociological study "Genus in the Child's Best Interest" was to, from the Administrative Court's decree about the child's own behavior, further clarify the concept of the child's best interest by studying how the concept is expressed in decrees with focus on genus.Theory: Three genus theories, to compare girls and boys, Mary John's power theory, the grown ups definition of what the reality is and what it should contain, and a labeling theory, where the people with power are the ones to define what's normal and what's not, have been used to analyze the result in this study.Method: A content analyses was used to analyze the decrees, with the focus on girls and boys between the ages of 12 to 19, where they have been forced into treatment by the law.Result: The concept of a child's best interest does make a difference between girls and boys in the decrees, and the girls have more power because they have more room to express themselves and are less responsible for their thoughts and actions. The concept is possible to use, but the definition is subjective and could be colored by the societies values and norms..

Problem: In society of today corporate competence is an important factor for survivor and development. IT is developing rapidly and can not be ignored by companies. Then need for people with IT-competence is conquent increasing. A survey of corporate IT-competence is therefore of interest for companies as well as for local authorities. To determine the IT competence within an organisation, this competence has to be measurable.

Denna studie är ett försök att sammanställa redan befintliga kunskaper om hur patienter med diagnosen Parkinsons sjukdom omhändertas i Sverige genom en kartläggning av hur många neurologiska öppenvårdsmottagningar i landet som har dokumenterat lokalt vårdprogram för diagnosen Parkinsons sjukdom och hur dessa vårdprogram är utformade. Kartläggning ägde rum under våren 2005 genom ett brev dels med förfrågan om mottagningen hade lokalt vårdprogram och att via ett svarsbrev skicka in detta vårdprogram till studien. Alla mottagningar svarade och av 60 mottagningar hade två lokalt vårdprogram enligt studiens definition av lokalt vårdprogram. Detta får anses som en mycket låg siffra. Avsaknad av nationella riktlinjer kan vara en orsak till den låga siffran, en annan att det saknas en gemensam definition av vårdprogram i landet.

I den svenska sjukförsäkringen har längden på sjukfallen ständigt ökat sedan 1980-talet. Denna trend har politiker försökt vända för att istället få fler människor tillbaka till arbete. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att se på vilket sätt en attitydförändring skett hos lagstiftaren över tid i sjukförsäkringen. För att uppnå detta har flera mindre frågeställningar besvarats för att ge konkreta exempel som stöd. Utvecklingen har gått från att sjukförsäkringen främst handlat om trygghet vid inkomstbortfall på grund av sjukdom, till att handla om arbetslinjen.

In this thesis, I discuss the impact Swedish national culture may have on Swedish diplomats. This is a qualitative study and I have used theories from studies of international negotiations to compare the oppositional results of those scientists with my interview material. With the help of my interview material from seven Swedish diplomats and five foreign diplomats I have compared their perceptions of Swedish culture, Swedish diplomats and their thoughts about the existence of an international diplomatic culture with well known sceientists of international negotiations. My main question is whether there is an international diplomatic subculture, without any national impact, or not. The mission is to base the thesis with earlier science and then compare and contrast with my interview material.
