In the first stages of rehabilitation, the need for calm is very important and a demand-less and stress-free environment is of essence.

The different material layers as part of a road construction fill all a function so theroad becomes durable, safe, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Recently, anew group of construction materials started to play an important role in roadconstruction ? geosynthetics.This thesis addresses the two most common types ofgeosynthetics used in modern road construction, namely geogrids and geotextiles.The most common use of geogrids is reinforcement of poor subgrade by usinggeogrid soil reinforcement, which occurs when road material particles wedge inthe geogrid?s mesh. Geotextiles act partly as a barrier that prevents the finermaterial in the below ground from being mixed with coarser upper material andalso act as a load spreader.Road contractors often face a choice of whether geogrids and/or geotextiles areappropriate in a particular road project and also how much profit the choice mightbring. Further, the paper analyzes and critically examines three different normative solutions provided by Irish Marion Young, Nancy Fraser and Jürgen Habermas for the realization of a welfare state that includes women.Habermas argues that the welfare state has created a situation of dependency and state paternalism which reduces both individual and collective self-determination. Young follows Habermas? argument. She argues for a political climate where justice is reduced to the distribution of material goods rather than the elimination of underlying relations of domination and gender specific patterns.

Kan Bioetts system visualisera brister i dagens kylkedjor?Syfte Syftet är uppdelat i tre olika områden: Dels skall det undersökas huruvida Bioetts system kan säkerställa en obruten kylkedja för den frysta produkten, dels skall en studie påvisa om det finns skillnader i av aktörerna beskriven kylkedja, och den faktiska kylkedjan. Till sist skall en hypotetisk modell presenteras för hur Bioetts system kan utformas för att erhålla så mycket nyttig information som möjligt ur systemet.Metod Fallstudien kommer att ha en utgångspunkt i att vara kvantitativ genom att ingångsdatan består av statistik i form av avläsningar från Bioetts system. Dock har projektet breddats genom insamling av kvalitativ information. Insamlingen av denna empiriska data har genomförts genom halvstrukturerade intervjuer med respondenter från aktörer i försörjningskedjan, samt genom egna observationer av inre flödestider.Slutsatser Studien påvisar att kylkedjan för den frysta produkten inte förblir obruten under distributionen.

This study was made as a part of a feasibility study on a polishing wetland at Rimbo wastewater plant (wwp) in Norrtälje municipality. The wwp had to decrease the nitrogen discharge to reach the limit 15 mg tot-N/l. The nitrogen in the outlet was mainly in the form of nitrate, hence the wetland mainly ought to support denitrification. The proposed area for the wetland was situated right next to the wwp and was already in the municipalitys posession. One aim of this study was to examine what spieces of plants needed to achieve highest possible denitrification.

Since the 1950s, the development of modern rotation forestry in boreal Fennoscandia has resulted in a severe reduction of older forests, and a high degree of fragmentation among the small patches that remains of old forest. In Sweden, when performing conservation value assessments in order to identify and preserve the remaining forest habitats, the government authorities use to a significant extent a set of indicator species that indicate habitats of high biological conservation value. SVENSKA: Vårt kandidatarbete gick ut på att ta reda på om det var möjligt att utveckla ett kort spel i hög teknisk kvalitet och ändå skapa ett djupt intryck på spelaren. Under projektets gång utvecklade vi, med hjälp av UDK (Unreal Development Kit), ett skräckspel i 3D till PC vid namn The Horror at MS Aurora. För att erhålla den höga tekniska kvaliteten som vi var ute efter användes metoder som räknas som standard för stora speltitlar på marknaden: Animationer spelades in med Motion Capture och musiken skrevs med en full symfoniorkester i åtanke. Innan produktionsfasen tog vid gick alla gruppmedlemmarna igenom en research-fas, där var och en satte sig in i de områden som skulle komma att vara aktuella under produktionen (d.v.s. hur UDK fungerar, musikteori och orkestrationsteknik, hur man arbetar med Motion Capture-data o.s.v.).

The red-tailed monkey (Cercopithecus ascanius) is a small, alert and active animal inhabiting forests with dense vegetation and as such hard to observe in its natural habitat. The principal aim of this study was to scrutinize whether the methods, previously used in a behavioural study of the blue monkey (Cercopithecus mitis) can be applied in studies of the red-tailed monkey?s behaviour as well. Additionally, habitat preference and foraging behaviour of the red-tailed monkey were examined. The study was carried out between the 16th and the 22nd of March 2009 in the Sabaringo forest, located on the western border of the Masai Mara National Reserve.

This thesis is made on behalf of SCA's Forestry Division and is a comparison of two bucking simulation tools: Aptan (manufactured by Skogforsk) and Best/upr (from Berget Systemdesign). The data is based on 32 stands from SCA's forests in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. The objective is to compare the simulations created by the tools with the harvested volumes from those stands. Three variables are needed for the bucking simulation; these are the diameter distribution (at breast height), the relationship function between diameter and height, and the taper coefficients. The volumes of five different assortments from the stands are compared.

The study's aim was to increase knowledge about the resistance of the Muslim religious expressions in the public sphere and its emergence on the basis of the case around the opposition to call for prayer. The study was conducted through the use of the qualitative research approach through interviews with informants who have a pronounced aversion regarding the existence of the public call to prayer in Sweden. The study's questions have been answered by an analysis of the empirical material by using different theoretical points that illustrate how Western standards are valued higher than the other, in the various standard systems. The view of the Muslim religious practices depicted by informants through an interpretative framework that is characterized by Islamophobic arguments that are considered to be incompatible with Western culture and the principles of the secular state striving. Such discourses can create an uneven distribution of power between Muslims and non-Muslims on the basis of the West's representations of Orientalism explained based in ethnocentric knowledge.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att göra en analys för valet av emballagesystem som skall användas för distribution av presshärdade säkerhetsdetaljer av borstål från Plannja HardTech till kunder inom bilindustrin. I analysen tas hänsyn till kundkrav, transportekonomiska faktorer samt fysiska förutsättningar för emballaget. Leveranser till kunderna som finns lokaliserade i USA, Europa och Sydostasien sker i engångsemballage av trä eller till vissa kunder i Europa i returemballage av stål. Presshärdningstekniken som företaget använder i sin produktion medför att detaljer med hög hållfasthet och låg vikt kan tillverkas. Den produkt som säljs mest av är sidokrockskydd som monteras i dörrar till personbilar.

Denna studie syftar till att identifiera nyckelfaktorer som är viktiga för företaget när de ska gå från planeringsfasen till genomförandefasen i en exportsatsning. Studien är avgränsad från förutsättningar som gäller på de olika marknaderna som lagar, kultur, sociala förutsättningar och miljöaspekter.Studien har ett deduktivt angreppssätt som utgår från befintliga teorier om internationalisering. Utifrån teorierna har en modell skapats som vi utgår från i vår studie. Studien är kvalitativ och omfattar sex tillverkande företag i tre branscher.
