The aim with this independent degree project of master thesis is to find what the user opinions of the Intranet in a county council is. The paper seeks how the question about how the culture in the organisation was affected by the use of the Intranet. An important part is to explore the expectations and acceptance of the Intranet and get a picture of which functions and services support day-to-day work with good quality. One goal is to find out how the Intranet users feel that the communication, information and usability can be developed.The focus group interview is a qualitative method that has been applied for gathering data from the respondents, who participate in the investigation from the county council. The used method is unstructured focus groups containing the three dominating categories of staff in the county council.

In order to get a better understanding of the interaction between employees and their technical work tools one needs to know what factors influence the interaction. The purpose of this study was to examine if there is a correlation between the personality traits Extraversion (E) and Neuroticism (N), tested with Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI), and experience of the new Intranet among employees at The Swedish National Transport Administration (SNTA), and also to gather information of employees? opinions about the new Intranet. A survey, containing questions about the Intranet and a personality test (EPI), was posted on SNTA?s Intranet for eight workdays (N = 88, females = 53, males = 35).

Bibliotek och intranät ? en fallstudie av intranätanvändandet i en biblioteksorganisation

This master?s thesis seeks to examine how a public library use the Intranet with regards to the possibilities that today?s Intranet technology offer ? especially concerning functionalities that support information, communication and knowledge exchange in the organization. The purpose of the study is to investigate how employees in one specific public library perceive and use the Intranet in their daily work. The theoretical framework takes its point of departure in two complementing models regarding the implementation, development and management of Intranets and a model of a multi perspective view of the Intranet as a shared information space for content, communication and collaboration. The study is based on interviews with eleven of the Intranet users, whom with the aid of an interview guide have been asked questions regarding goals, implementation, content, design, applications and advantages/disadvantages with the Intranet.

Intranät : en kunskapskälla i arbetet?

The ambition with this study is to look into and create an understanding for how an Intranet can work as a support system in work processes in capacity as a source of knowledge. We want to enhance the understanding for which kind of knowledge that can be coded in and transmitted by an Intranet, and which that is lost in this process. We also want to clarify what it takes to get this knowledge, in collaboration with the Intranet, to support the work in an organization. It is a qualitative case study at a Swedish bank. It consisted of semi standardized, half structured interviews with five people in one of the bank?s local offices.

Companies that don?t take advantage of the potential in their Intranet is a common phenomenon. In connection with a migration project dealing with a switch of content management system it turned out that SAS Technical Services lacked clear objectives and strategies for the use of their Intranet. Thereby they didn?t make the most of the possibilities an Intranet brings.The work with this thesis began with collecting the experiences the company could take with them from the migration project.

Hello Skandia: Om kulturen på intranätet

Corporate spending on information technology is persistently increasing and a majority of companies are currently employing an Intranet. Intranets have implications for internal communication but are also instruments for the dissemination of corporate culture. Existing research on Intranets and corporate culture is limited to Swedish organizations within the industrial or IT-sector and to foreign companies. The purpose of this study is to understand how or if corporate culture can be embedded into an Intranet. Specifically, this study addresses the research question: How is corporate culture communicated via an Intranet in a Swedish service-sector company? We perform a qualitative case study and find that communication on Intranets is still characterized by a traditional top down approach.

Hur används intranät? En studie av EkaForum, Eka Chemicals intranät.

Intranets has been marketing as the tool for solving the organisations information problems. My interest is to see how an Intranet works in an organisation. This study was an investigation about the use of EkaForum, the Intranet of Eka Chemicals, at the Rollsbo division. The study aimed to evaluate how EkaForum is being used, firstly as a transmitter of information and secondly as a communication tool for the organisation. The study was constructed as a quantity survey based on a questionnaire with 24 questions and was sent out to the staff of Rollsbo division.

It gives a short description of the different parts in an Intranet and their field of application, and what communication means. It?s only the communication tools that the company uses that we are illuminating in this report.

Through the growing use and availability of information technology the dependency of Internet is today increasing. Internet makes ways for a more mobile business communication that cost less. One of the latest applications of Internet technology are Intranet and extranet. I have asked myself the question how Intranet and extranet can affect companies efficiency and competitive advantage. In order to answer this question I performed a case study at Ericsson and ABB.

En kartläggning av personalens sociala scheman angående underhållshandboken på Volvo PV Skövde

Syftet med undersökningen är att studera personalens sociala scheman angående en underhållshandbok som finns på Intranet på Volvo östra. Problemet är att underhållshandboken inte används i någon stor utsträckning. Syftet är att med hjälp av en kartläggning av personalens roll- och händelsescheman angående användningen av handboken, kunna hitta bakomliggande problem till varför inte handboken används. Underhållshandboken finns dels på Intranet och dels i pärmar. I enkätundersökningen deltog 23 försökspersoner som arbetar vid underhållssektionens alla avdelningar.Resultatet visar att de som någon gång använt underhållshandboken använder handboken främst vid situationer när de blir tillsagda att använda den.

This is a thesis on the Intranet use in the European Parliament. We investigated the use from a multilingual point of view, but also from a communication perspective. What we wanted to know was how a multilingual group, with presumably different computer skills, in the organisation handle the Intranet information. What are the positive and negative effects of a multilingual information exchange over an Intranet? To find out, we sent a questionnaire as an e-mail attachment to all members of a chosen committee and their assistants.
