Millions of people are using search engines every day when they are trying to find information on the Internet. The purpose of this report is to find out how people formulate search queries. The result in this report is based on an empirical study which is based on a search log from the Swedish search engine Seek.se.One of the results in this thesis is that nearly all search queries are based on keywords..

I have studied how network in a broad sense can affect decision-making. The primary purpose is to see if the political initiative somewhere disappears when it comes to understand the relations between power, actors and politics. The study discuss in a theoretical area that concerns the reliability in neoinstitutionalism to use as an analytical instrument. Some criticism is given to the theoretical standpoint in the sense that there is no power perspective included in the theory. I include a discussion about a concept of power, which I include to the theory.

The aim of this master thesis has been to investigate discussions about public access to Internet in public libraries. Areas of interest were the debate in Sweden as well as in the United States. The approach was qualitative and questionnaires were distributed by e-mail to a number of Swedish public libraries. The results from the survey were then supplemented with a theoretical background and a literature study. The usable questionnaires obtained from 20 libraries showed a rather uniform approach among the Swedish librarians of how the Internet is best provided by public libraries.

Denna studie är en integrativ forskningsöversikt med syfte att kartlägga vilka psykiska hälsorisker som finns för ungdomar på internet och i sådana fall vilka dessa risker är, samt vilka förklaringar till fenomenet som forskarna lyfter fram. Vilka psykiska hälsorisker är enligt befintlig forskning de mest vanligt förekommande bland ungdomar som använder internet för olika ändamål? Vilka är konsekvenserna som presenteras som följd av dessa hälsorisker? Vad säger forskningen om riskgrupper bland ungdomar gällande internet? Vilka förklaringar presenterar befintlig forskning gällande de olika hälsoriskerna? Genom lämpliga sökord och välkända databaser har studier valts ut för att kunna besvara valda syfte och frågeställningar. I forskningsöversikten valdes 17 studier ut som ansågs relevanta för valt område. Resultatet visar att ungdomar riskerar att utsättas för flertalet faror på nätet men att detta inte är ett kausalt samband.

This thesis researches the value creation process in Internet based subscription services in accordance with service dominant logic. The aim of the paper is to identify the characteristics of these services and to envisage the future of Internet based subscription services. The authors have utilized a qualitative method in their research which consists of personal interviews as well as a focus group. The main theoretical subjects that are discussed are value creation, customer participation and service dominant logic. The paper analyses the empirical findings by matching them with the theoretical framework.

The purpose of this media scientific study is to contribute to a better understanding about how blind people?s empowerment and participation may affect their role in the digital society.Earlier international studies in this area have shown that blind people not only need more knowledge then the seeing population about the computer, but also about the technology behind their tools for using Internet. The results from these studies have also shown that Internet increases the blind people?s independents and that those who use Internet feel more involved in the society.A qualitative method was chosen to study the three most common categories from the earlier studies: knowledge of technology, empowerment and participation. Are there differences in the results compared to our study in Sweden 2014?Interviews with eight blind, experienced computer users have shown that knowledge of technology is essential for their use of Internet and that the Internet increases their empowerment and their participation.

Den här kandidatavhandlingen undersöker fördelarna och begränsningarna med Internetbaserade operativsystem i molnet, så kallade Internet OS, och hur IT-företag ser på ämnet. Internet OS är operativsystem som placerar sina resurser och processorkraft ute på Internet, ofta med hjälp av olika molnettjänster. Det finns problem och utmaningar med Internet OS. Dessa problem kan vara ett hinder för företag att överge de traditionella operativsystemen, som exempelvis Windows, och övergå till Internet OS. Det saknas undersökningar om IT-företag vill eller kan flytta sin verksamhet till molnet. Vi vill ge en tydligare bild och bidra med ny kunskap om företags syn på Internet OS. Arbetet har genomförts med en litteraturstudie som har fokuserats på vad den akademiska världen vet om Internet OS med fokus på Chrome OS. Litteraturstudie går in på fördelar och nackdelar, samt framtida visioner.

Tillgången till hälsoinformation på Internet har underlättat för patienterna att söka kunskap jämfört med när det endast var möjligt att få information av sin läkare, tidskrifter och litteratur. De flesta studier som gjorts på området både nationella och internationella har fokuserat på relationen mellan läkare och patient och hur den påverkas av att patienter söker hälsoinformation på Internet. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur distriktssköterskans arbete påverkas av att patienter/anhöriga söker hälsoinformation på Internet. Metoden som använts var en webbaserad enkätstudie som skickades ut till alla identifierade distriktssköterskor inom Norrbottens Läns Landsting. Data bearbetades med statistikprogrammet SPSS.

Arbetet som utförts består av två applikationer där båda presenterar information geografiskt på internet. Applikationerna har konstruerats i utvecklingsverktyget Visual Basic och med GIS-programvarorna MapObjects och MapObjects Internet Map Server. Den första applikationen som tillverkades är helt HTML-baserad (HTML är ett språk som används för att konstruera sidor på internet), vilket betyder att den fungerar som vilken sida som helst på internet, bortsett från att den kräver att en kartserver alltid har igång kartan i applikationen. The purpose of this study was to understand whether there is a difference in how the Swedish police work with Facebook in two municipalities with different criminal records. The methods used were qualitative interviews with the ones responsible for the Facebook-sites and quantitative content analysis of different Facebook-posts, both from members of the Facebook-site and from the police themselves.Among the theories used in this study were the ?four-step relations process? by Cutlip, Allen and Broom, theory around public relations and theory around the public sphere by Habermas.The results showed that there is a difference in how the police uses Facebook between the municipalities and one of the conclusions is that this is mainly because of the ways that the police choose to work with Facebook rather than the difference in criminal records. Another conclusion is that the police get positive feedback from the members on their Facebook-site, and that how much the police uses Facebook as a tool depends a lot on how much resources they have to spend since the ones writing on Facebook are policemen and policewomen, and that the police do not have someone who works with the Facebook-site as a primary task.Keywords: Facebook, police, social media, qualitative interviews, quantitative content analysis, authority, public relations..

This paper deals with the relations between landscape rooms and monuments in an area north of Mönsterås in Kalmar län. After archaeological excavations had been carried out in the area 1991, an article promote it to the ?Bronze Age district of Mönsterås? (Källström 1993). There are two main problems that I deal with in this paper. First: The relations between the natural places and the monuments or memorials.

Internet has made information more easy to get, but also more difficult to retrieve. There is a need for information retrieval systems that assure accurate, reliable and up to date information. Quite a number of both commercial and non commercial search services has been developed on the Internet. We have made a qualitative study of one for-pay product in particular, NetS k, produced by BTJ (Bibliotekstj nst), Lund. It is a database that contains collected, evaluated and classified links, and is especially developed to suit public librarians in Sweden.

Syftet med denna studie är att genom kvalitativa intervjuer beskriva upplevelser och erfarenheter av medierad social interaktion på Internet för klienter på behandlingshem för missbrukare. Vi ville undersöka hur detta påverkar klienternas möjligheter att förändra sina liv, identitetsskapande och sociala relationer. Vi genomförde enskilda intervjuer med tre personer som jobbar på ett behandlingshem där klienterna har fri tillgång till Internet och med en klient på samma behandlingshem, samt gruppintervjuer med sammanlagt sju personer som hade varierande erfarenhet av behandlingshem.Resultatet visar en allmän negativ syn på medierad social interaktion under behandlingstiden. Den största risken som lyfts fram under intervjuerna är att Internet försvårar för klienterna att bryta med missbruksvärlden. Kontakt med vänner och bekanta i missbruksvärlden kan leda till att klienten avbryter sin behandling.
