Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är en analysera och kartlägga skillnaden mellan utvalda svenska hedgefonder utifrån de prestationsmått författarna ställt upp. I och med detta syfte ge en helhetsbild av de enskilda fonderna samt jämföra deras utveckling under angiven tidsperiod. Vidare ämnar vi undersöka de förvaltningsarvoden som utgår för respektive fond samt Alphas betydelse för en hedgefondförvaltare.Metod: Skribenterna har undersökt den svenska hedgefondsmarknaden under en treårsperiod (2003-04-28 till 2006-04-28) där författarna valt ut åtta hedgefonder som varit verksamma under perioden. För att säkerställa undersökningen har undertecknade använt teoretiska modeller såsom Sharpekvoten och Jensens Alpha, för att se till hedgefondernas riskjusterade avkastning samt den överavkastning som förvaltarna till respektive hedgefond presterat.Slutsats: Resultatet av studien visar att samtliga undersökta hedgefonder levererat en positiv absolut avkastning under tidsperioden. Således kan inte några generella slutsatser dras som att alla svenska nationella hedgefonder presterat en positiv avkastning.

The focus on this essay is derived from an international and national dialogue for sustainable development. The recommendation from international level has been to find solutions for governments to implement strategies for sustainable development between local and regional level. This initiative is to improve and stimulate the dialogue between the local inhabitants, officials, entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the communities together with the authorities on the regional level. The purpose is to share knowledge and find ways to learn about the natural systems and how to co-operate in the work of preserving the natural resources and developing different processes for a sustainable development. Many scientists? today stress the importance that ecosystem resilience is promoted by biodiversity conservation and that we need to find solutions for local ecosystem management practices.This essay aims to find theoretical approaches and perspectives that can be used in a wider framework to study co-operative processes between the local (agent) and regional (structure) level.

ABSTRACTBackground: In all cancer therapies occurs more or less side effects, there one of them are mucositis. Symptoms of mucositis include wound and blister in the oral mucosa and affects 50-80% of children undergoing cancer treatment. Today there is no Swedish tested assessment scale for mucositis.Aim: To describe how teenagers with cancer and parents of children younger than 12 years with cancer perceive issues in a mouth-assessment instruments, Children?s International Mucositis Evaluation Scale (ChIMES), that have recently been translated into Swedish.Method/Design: The study was a quantitative descriptive research design. The participants were teenagers with cancer 12- 18 years (N=15), and parents (N=15) of children younger than 12 years.

In this study, my intention has been to examine how the ambiguous concept of corruption is constructed by the press. Emphasizing the media?s representations of the socially constructed and context-specific concept, this work adopts a critical perspective on discourse, together with an approach of conceptual history. Finland has for many years been appointed as one of the least corrupt countries in the world, signing several international conventions against corruption since the 1990s, which in turn has led to an increase in discussion regarding the phenomenon. By conducting a multi-method study, my aim has been to analyse the possible changes in the definition of ?corruption? in the Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet during the period 2000-2013.

Ett totalt socialt ansvar innefattar att företag ska gå med ekonomisk vinst, följa lagar och förordningar som råder på marknaden samt en etisk skyldighet i form av agerande i enlighet med intressenters normer och förväntningar på företaget. Utöver detta ska företag agera som goda samhällsmedborgare. För företag i en bransch där verksamheten grundas på skadliga produkter blir det diskutabelt huruvida de lever upp till ett etiskt ansvar eller inte. Företag i tobaksbranschen är exempel på sådana och syftet med den här undersökningen är att analysera och jämföra fyra tobaksbolags respektive presentation av CSR.

The main objective of this essay is to present the views of nine Swedish publishers and four other agents in the literary field regarding the possibilities of and obstacles to publishing fiction in an electronic format. Furthermore, whether or not electronic publishing is today actually a viable alternative. A substantial part of the essay functions as background to our interview findings and is based primarily on material originating from the Sociology of Literature field. The introductory chapter expounds the methodological and theoretical basis of the essay and is followed by a chapter placing our study in a larger, international media, context. Chapter three deals with the past decades? restructuring of the publishing sector, the professional functions involved in traditional publishing and Pierre Bourdieu?s theories on the cultural and economic forces at work in the literary field.

Av flera anledningar har i många länder mål för prisstabilitet ersatt den aktiva stabiliseringspolitiken där mål för nationalprodukt och sysselsättning stått i centrum. Centralbanker bedriver och har bedrivit penningpolitik för att uppnå prisstabilitet på olika sätt och det ärdenna fråga som står i fokus i denna uppsats. Detta aktualiseras ytterligare då den europeiska centralbanken (ECB) är i ett startskede vad det gäller att bedriva penningpolitik med prisstabilitet som primärt mål. I detta perspektiv är det av intresse att studera Bundesbank närmare då denna under relativt lång tid bedrivit penningpolitik inriktad på prisstabilitet. För att belysa frågan om penningpolitik har, efter en teoretisk presentation, en empirisk studie av Bundesbank genomförts.

This report describes the process of translating Russian financial information in accordance with Russian Accounting Standards to IFRS, International Financial Reporting Standards. The author describes the two regulatory frameworks and reveals a number of risk factors in the process. These risk factors may affect the reliability of figures from Russian companies. The paper's purpose has evolved during the process of researching and writing it. In the beginning it was to investigate if art and culture could increase the strength and knowledge of a brand and if there existed a knowledge about this amongst Swedish companies, situated in Stockholm. During the process the purpose has evolved into exploring the type of companies that acknowledge this and those that don't. By using Bourdieu's terminology and tools, the reasons behind the use of art has been analyzed.The paper employs an explorative approach by accessing data through interviews and public data provided by the Internet through web pages and government files.The paper comes to the conclusion that what Holt calls cultural branding has not evolved, when looking at the companies that are accurate for this study. Out of 24 companies only one comes close to observing socio cultural movements through the arts.

The voluntary none-financial sustainability report has become a trend within accounting. The environmental issues used to be driven by activists only, but lately it has moved in to the general agenda in many companies. Investors are starting to put more attention to the sustainability reporting as it is considered to add value to the company. There are several standard guidelines to be used when producing a sustainability report, one example is the GRI´s Guidelines that takes the following three dimensions in consideration: economy, environment and social. This Guideline is from an international perspective considered to be of good accounting practice (Ljungdahl 2008).

This thesis aims to explain the emergence of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, and its institutional shaping, by using elements of Neofunctionalism and Liberal Intergovernmentalism.Using Neofunctionalism, the Common Foreign and Security Policy can be explained both as a side-effect of Europe's economic integration, and as a way to maintain the former and the European Union's position as an economic superpower. The institutional shaping is a result of lack of convergence between important national interests. Therefore it rests on a firm intergovernmental base, with rigorously limited use of supranational decision-making.For Liberal Intergovernmentalism, geopolitics and ideology, and to a certain level log-rolling, have played important roles. The reunification of Germany convinced France to form an alliance between the two countries. France, determined to achieve an economic and monetary union, thus offered Germany a political union, including a Common Foreign and Security Policy on intergovernmental terms.

Företag blir allt mer globala och investeringar i utländska företag blir allt vanligare. Att investera över gränserna kan vara komplext då redovisningsreglerna länge skiljt sig åt i olika länder. Behovet av att reducera skillnader som finns i redovisningen har länge varit stort. För att komma till rätta med detta tog Europaparlamentet år 2002 ett beslut om att införa International Accounting Standards/International Financial Reporting Standards (IAS/IFRS) inom EU och en process inleddes som innebar att alla medlemsländer ska redovisa enligt IAS/IFRS. I och med att Sverige är med i EU ska alla noterade företag i landet upprätta sin koncernredovisning enligt IAS/IFRS-standarderna från och med början av år 2005.Vårt syfte med denna uppsats är att beskriva hur redovisningen av svenska bankers finansiella instrument har förändrats i och med införandet av IASB:s redovisningsstandarder.
