Tediousness, fear and boredom are all part of everyday?s life for a student. How can a teacher counteract these feelings of boredom and replace them with a feeling of pleasure of learning? Students have to be motivated and want to go to school every day. By comparing student?s experiences of motivation this essays purpose is to create a theory about factors for motivation in education.

Syftet med detta arbete är att identifiera och analysera konsultchefers uppfattning av motivationsbehovet hos sina anställda i bemanningsföretag. Två forskningsfrågor har undersökts: Forskningsfråga #1: Hur uppfattar konsultchefer vikten av inre motivation hos konsulter inom bemanningsbranschen? Forskningsfråga #2: Vilka verktyg använder sig konsultchefer av för att motivera sina konsulter?Metod: Vi genomförde intervjuer med öppna svarsalternativ som kvalitativ metod med en induktiv utgångspunkt för att uppfylla syftet.

This paper investigates the level of consciousness regarding to the diversity work in the municipalities of Malmö, Lund and Landskrona. The study focuses on persons in a middle management position connected to various spheres of activities in each municipality. A survey concerning each municipality's diversity plan, diversity work, recruiting process, education and knowledge was used to investigate the participants' consciousness. The survey poses similar questions regarding equality between the sexes to compare the results from each field. The paper presents an overview of the development of Sweden's labour market and society, and gives an account for the differences between immigrants and natives positions in the labour market.

The purpose of this thesis is to study and determine how working in cross functional teams can generate value in an effort to facilitate innovation. An inductive scientific perspective is chosen as the research approach. A single case is investigated with the theoretical framework based on Resource Based View, Intellectual Capital, Innovation theory and theories concerning Cross Functional Teams. The empirical material has been collected through primary data; surveys, interviews and secondary data; literature, websites and further complementary data. The practice of using Cross Functional Teams will enhance organizational learning, knowledge transfer, increase communication and innovation, which in turn will increase the speed and performance of the new product development process.

Varje år drabbas många svenskar av hjärtinfarkt, deras livsvärld och subjektiva kropp förändras plötsligt. Sjuksköterskan har till uppgift att lindra och förebygga det lidande som förändringen kan leda till. Det kan hon/han göra genom att ha kunskap om området, uppträda på ett lugnt sätt och ge adekvat information. Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva vad patienter drabbade av hjärtinfarkt upplever efter utskrivning från sjukhuset. Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ litteraturstudie.

In this thesis a study about funding in civil-society organizations is carried out. The aim is to understand how an organization in civil-society is affected by different forms of financing models. The empirical material in the thesis consists of a case study of three Swedish civil-society organizations (CSO) producing social services in the field of rehabilitation of people with a drug addiction. The case study consists of mainly interviews with people holding a leading position in the three organizations together with a study of for the research question relevant documents. From the empirical material, including an extensive analysis of these organizations different income sources, a partial model of how to categorize and analyze different forms of funding in CSOs is developed.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine and analyse which effects a service strategy has on the control system of an organisation. The thesis takes a service perspective, and it is assumed that a service strategy gains competitive advantage and that the goal of the service strategy is to increase the customers? satisfaction level. A qualitative in-depth case study was performed on a Swedish beauty company. The organisation?s vertical structure was examined, from central to local level.

The decisions for investment are forward-looking and the base of a long-term strategy. The research within investment have focused on diverse formulas which are used in financial assessment, which also should be complemented with qualitative evaluation. Consequently, the focus should not only be on the execution of the formulas. Less time have been spent on research concerning what actually initiates the investment proposals and affects the decision-making. This will be highlighted in this essay.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att se hur stor plats forskning fått i dagspress mellan 1901 och 2010. För att avgränsa området baseras studien på Dagens Nyheters bevakning av Nobelpristillkännagivandena i kemi och medicin.Jag har gjort ett urval av Nobelpristagare under den aktuella perioden och studerat hur forskning som ledde till Nobelpriset presenterats för allmänheten.Materialet består av artiklar från Dagens Nyheter från 1901  t.o.m. 2010.Jag har dels analyserat vilken plats forskningen fått i tidningen, dels vad artiklarna egentligen handlar om: är de pedagogiska eller refererande, har de ett nyttoperspektiv eller är de rent av akademiska?Studien tar även upp två andra aspekter: det låga antalet kvinnliga pristagare? har Dagens Nyheter presenterat dem på ett annat sätt? Och hur påverkar pristagarens nationalitet mediebevakningen?Resultatet visar att nyheten om vem som belönats med årets Nobelpris alltid nått fram till förstasidan i tidningen. Rubrikena är ofta stora och bilder är vanligt.

This thesis is performed as a case study in Västerbotten Museum's textile storage space. The intention with this study is to investigate the relationships between the museum?s tasks: to collect, preserve and make the collections accessible. The aim is to reveal the problems that exist in museums today with increasing collections, less resources for the preservation of the collections and increasing requirements on accessibility. The aim is to deduce the problem by finding out how the different tasks relate to one another today.

This paper studies the research foundations created in 1994 from the former wage earners? funds out of a portfolio management point of view. Firstly it describes the seven largest foundations and their different portfolio management structures. Secondly it analyses the performance of these foundations measured as the intercept, Jensen?s a, in a linear regression of the excess returns of a portfolio versus a proxy for the market, as well as the Sharpe-ratio.

Två upplevelseproducenter har i den här examensuppsatsen undersökt begreppet autenticitet, hur det ter sig och vad detta innebär i musik som sådan men även som en upplevelseprodukt i musikbranschen. Med ett hermeneutiskt synsätt har vi valt att göra fyra stycken kvalitativa intervjuer med musiker och andra nyckelpersoner inom musikbranschen.Vi har inte presenterat ett klart och tydligt svar, det skulle inte göra ett komplext ämne som detta rättvisa, utan istället utarbetat modeller som visar på ett förhållningssätt att arbeta efter. Den första handlar om ett förhållningssätt för att bibehålla autenticitet i bland annat olika processer. Den andra redovisar för hur ett sammansvetsat team som byggs upp likt en plattform kan vara ett hållbart alternativ för många, denna modell har vi valt döpa till KBM-plattformen, vilket står för Kreatör, Business och Management. Med denna modell vill vi visa hur dessa tre funktioner kan samspela.

SammandragUppsatsen behandlar dansk-svensk språkkontakt i Öresundsregionen, bland annat på internet. Arbetet har ett tudelat syfte och huvudfrågorna har varit följande: Vilken bild får man av dansk-svensk språkkontakt genom Öresundsanknutna webbplatser? Vilken bild får man av dansk-svensk språkkontakt genom transnationella nätverkssamarbeten i Öresundsregionen?I ett första skede har nitton dansk-svenska webbplatser studerats och de har fördelats på tre kategorier: Intresseorganisationer, Utbildningsanordnare samt Information och marknadsföring.Kartläggningen visar att intresseorganisationer i hög utsträckning använder sig av grannspråk medan utbildningsanordnarna oftare har engelska som språk på webbplatsen. I kategorin Information och marknadsföring tycks språkvalet vara målgruppsanpassat d.v.s. svenska används till svenskar och danska till danskar.Den andra delstudien är en närstudie av ett dansk-svenskt scenkonstprojekt.

This essay is about democracy and how a democracy index can be used as a tool to illustratethe gap between reality and ideal. The purpose of this study can be expressed by two researchquestions: Does the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) democracy index illustrate thedistance between reality and the ideal of democracy presented by Dahl? and Can the EIU'sdemocracy index be modified by a) internal adjustments and b) using the variables includedin World Economic Forum?s (WEF) equality index?By using a combination of theories (Dahl?s theory of democracy, Rawls theory of justice andchosen theories critical to liberal democracy) as an analytical framework the following twoquestions have been answered:1) Which of the variables included in the EIU's democracy index have the potential to capturethe level of political equality?2) Which of the variables included in the WEF?s equality index have the potential to capturethe degree of political equality?By using a quantitative method the study?s third and last question has been answered:3) How strong is the rank correlation between the EIU?s democracy index and the WEF?sequality index, that is; how strong is the rank correlation coefficient (rho)?The data presented by the WEF?s equality index indicate that women are systematicallydiscriminated against as a group. From a democratic perspective the EIU may need tomeasure inequalities at a group level in order to capture the lack of political equality betweenindividuals. By reformulating some of the EIU?s variables, by revising the EIU?s point systemand by using the variables included in the WEF's equality index to extend EIU?s democracyindex, the chances of capturing the gap between reality and the ideal of democracy presentedby Dahl would likely increase..
