Internal communication is very important for the success of an organization. The county council Landstinget i Värmland is a large organization with many managers on different positions. Every one of these managers gets an email every week, with the message that a new manager letter, called Chef, is published on the intranet. With my paper I am examining what the managers think of this letter, how they use it and if managers on different positions differ from each other in opinions about and use of the letter. I want to find out if there is a need of Chef as a part of the internal communication of Landstinget i Värmland.To answer these questions, I have chosen a quantitative method in the form of a questionnaire which is send to all the receivers of the manager letter.

To increase the quality in their products ABB is working towards a cleared order concept. That means that all customer specified options are to be known before they start with order calculations and construction. As it is today they use paper checklists to achieve this. One order may have several reactors, and for a reactor there can be several different alternatives. For each alternative a new checklist must be filled out.As of today all reading of the customer specification and checklist fill in with is done by hand by different persons, and sometimes the same data is read more than one time.

Ett datalager är ett beslutstödssystem som integrerar stora mängder data från interna och externa källor. Dessutom är datalagret subjektorienterat, vilket innebär att det är organsierat kring ett antal betydelsefulla affärsdomäner som företaget lagrar data om. Många menar att det börjar bli allt viktigare för företag att söka information utanför verksamheten. Detta kan göras genom att de externa affärsdomänerna skannas av på information.Syftet med detta arbete är att ta reda på i vilken utsträckning i nuläget som organisationer lagrar data om affärsdomäner i sitt datalager. För att ta reda på detta har företag som använder datalager kontaktats och intervjuats.Resultatet visar att företag lagrar data om externa affärsdomäner, fast i ganska liten utsträckning.

This thesis aims to examine how the quality of data that is entered into and retrieved from a corporate group's ERP and Data Warehouse systems can be improved. The corporate group has already taken several measures that will improve the quality of data. For instance the corporate group has updated and merged the previous ERP systems into one. At the same time the corporate group adjusted the settings in the updated ERP system, so that it will be harder to register incorrect data in the ERP system. With regards to the processes and routines, the studied department has efficient written routines and processes.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine if there where fallacies in the design solutions for the business system IFS Applications from a user perspective, and if so, correct these from a cognitive science approach.Data collection consisted of three main portions. These where; workshop, individual interviews and observations. The collected data was analyzed and resulted in identification of two main areas in the application that where found lacking.The result of the study showed that the usability for processing large amounts of data and the lack of customization where the main flaws in the application. Two low fidelity prototypes where created with the purpose of rectifying the underlying flawed design solutions that where identified from the collected data..

För företag idag är det av stor betydelse att ha en fungerande interninformation. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa hur butikschefer och medarbetare i ett företag upplevde och definierade sin interninformation samt se hur interninformationen fungerade i nutiden och hur de eftersträvade att den borde fungera i framtiden. Målet var även att belysa vilka informationskanaler som ansågs vara mest informativa och fungerande. Elva intervjuer genomfördes och därefter analyserades data med hjälp av en induktiv tematisk analys. I studien framkom att de intervjuades upplevelse av interninformationen var positiv.

The project description is to draw an extension or annex to the existing Nationalmuseum building from 1866.The annex is designed to complement Nationalmusems activities and contain internal and public functions. Information overload is by no means a new concept, but has come to prominence the last decade. A generally accepted definition of the phenomenon does not exist. The main question in this master thesis is how to define information overload in order to create a connotative concept for information science. This thesis reviews the nature and causes of information overload, and considers possible solutions, both individual and technical, and their relevance to the information professional. The review of the results shows that researchers seldom or never give a legible definition of what the concept information holds.

Detta examensarbete omfattar utveckling och test av en metod för distribution av data i ett multidatabassystem. Testen av metoden har gjorts genom att den har implementerats i en fallstudie. Kunskapsluckan i traditionens betydelse för medarbetare inom samtida organisationer är således av vikt att studera. Vi vill genom denna undersökning förstå hur medarbetaren upplever en eventuell anspelning på lokal tradition inom en organisation. Undersökningen av sambandet mellan lokal tradition och medarbetaren ska bidra till ökad insikt om huruvida lokal tradition har aktualitet och betydelse för en organisationsmedlem.
