Det här en uppsats som syftar till att närma sig frågor om förmedling av vetenskaplig kunskap, genom att ur ett diskursanalytiskt perspektiv undersöka två kunskapsproducenters sätt att reagera på vetenskapsförmedling. Uppsatsen vill säga något om hur dessa förmedlingar bemöts och bedöms av de som tillhör traditioner inom vilka kunskapen producerats. Detta görs genom att två diskursordningar konstrueras och appliceras på två exempel. Exemplen utgörs av debatten mellan historikern Peter Englund och författaren Herman Lindqvist angående Lindqvists bokserie Historien om Sverige, samt den amerikanske fysikern Lawrence M. Krauss syn på Star Trek i boken Fysiken i Star Trek.

Is it possible, and suitable, to use multimedia in classic literature studies at Swedish upper secondary school? What alternatives are there?  Is there any foundation in the curriculum for an expanded conception of text as in multimedia?  Will the conception literacy support use of multimedia in classic literature studies, and in what ways? How do we generally look upon the definition text, is it only printed letters, or something more? To get an answer to the questions we decided to examine a number of theories, Gardner?s theory about the different intelligences, the conception literacy and the expanded text concept. In these three theories we took our starting-point for the following work. The main subjects became two interactive sights on Internet and one CD-ROM, all containing classic literature. Our previous knowledge in this subject field was very meager.  This work has given us an opportunity to discover some of the multimedia that is available, and the result we have come to is that multimedia absolutely belongs in studies of classic literature as well as in other subjects.

Today around 28 000 women originally from countries where FGM is practised, are living in Sweden. Many of them are at childbearing age which means that knowledge about FGM and its consequences is of outmost importance during delivery. The aim of this study is to describe current research on how to manage the delivery, regarding deinfibulation and the following stitching as well as the risk of complications when the labouring woman is mutilated. This review of literature is based on 12 scientific articles published between years 1989 ? 2005.

AbstractThe employer is obliged to initiate negotiations with the union organization to which the employer is bound by a collective agreement. This applies both to decisions which imply a substantial change in workplace operations or employment conditions of the individual employee. In case law this obligation has been very extensive through all cases that have been up in the Swedish Labor court. Due to this fact the employer?s duty to negotiate has been interpreted very broadly.

Framtidens konsumtion och produktion av animalieprodukter måste vara ekologiskt hållbart ur ett globalt och regionalt perspektiv, vilket avser minimal miljöpåverkan och effektivt utnyttjande av naturresurser. Syftet med denna studie är dels att ta fram inventeringsdata för en premix, vilket är en fodertillsatsprodukt, med en omfattning ?från vaggan till färdig produkt?, dels att bedöma om premix utgör en betydande miljöaspekt i förhållande till en persons indirekta årliga konsumtion jämfört med medelsvenskens totala miljöpåverkan. Mot denna bakgrund har en livscykelanalys utförts på en specifik premix för nötkreatur. Bedömningen av miljöpåverkan görs med en metod som baseras på de svenska miljökvalitetsmålen.

1992 höll FN ett toppmöte om miljö- och utvecklingsfrågor i Rio de Janeiro med representanter från länder världen över. Resultatet av mötet blev bland annat en internationell överenskommelse, Agenda 21, som behandlar barn och ungdomars roll i arbetet med miljö-och rättvisefrågor. Massmedier av olika slag är den huvudsakliga kanal genom vilken bilder av miljöproblemens art och förslag till lösningar förmedlas varför de massmedier som riktar sig till barn är viktiga för deras engagemang och förståelse då det gäller miljöfrågor. Syftet med den här studien är att beskriva och analysera den bild av miljö och miljöfrågor som kommuniceras till barn och ungdomar genom att analysera miljödiskursen i tidskriften Kamratposten. Målet har varit att få en uppfattning om vilken samlad bild av miljö och miljöfrågor som denna miljödiskurs skapar och förmedlar till tidskriftens läsare.

Denna studie har i huvudsak haft två syften. Det första har varit att belysa orsakssammanhang och göra en syntes av de diskussioner som förts i Sverige och internationellt kring ökande problem i samband med översvämningar. Det andra syftet har varit göra en fördjupad belysning av dessa problemställningar med tillämpning på Vänern och Mälaren, två stora sjöar i relativt tätbefolkade trakter. Studien har begränsats till översvämningsproblem längs sjöar och vattendrag vilket innebär att urbana översvämningsproblem som t.ex. orsakas av brister i avlopps och dagvattensystem inte behandlats.

The cause of fibromyalgia has long been unknown but recent studies has shown that disturbance in the central pain modulation may be the cause. The aim of the study was to examine what kind of physiotherapy and close related treatment methods in the treatment of fibromyalgia there are and to determine their evidence. Articles were obtained by searching through the databases PubMed, Academic Search, AMED/Webspirs, CINAHL/webspirs and PEDro for articles published from 1994 and ten years forward. The study was based on thirty articles that met the criteria for inclusion. To assess the quality of the clinical studies the SBU?s evaluation model was used.

Stress is common in today?s society, but the word stress has numerous connotations. The aim of this study was to investigate how dogs are effected by stress and what the veterinary nurse can do to help dogs to avoid or at least mitigate stress within the veterinary hospital. The goal was also to see how dogs perceive the environment in the veterinary hospital and what behaviours dogs demonstrate when they enter the hospital and during their stay. Studies have shown that dogs have a reluctant feeling on entering a veterinary hospital. They can feel stressed by coming to a new environment, as well as by being put in a cage with no control over what is going to happen to them.

Iron deficiency is one of the most frequent micronutrient deficiencies around the world. Low iron bioavailability simultaneously with a high iron requirement is a high risk factor for developing iron deficiency. Probiotics are microorganisms that confer a health benefit on the host. Prebiotics are oligosaccharides which provide a health benefit on the host due to a positive modulation of the microflora in the gut. The aim of this paper is to evaluate if there is a connection between pro-and/or prebiotics and iron bioavailability.

This study examined how users interact with a smartphone while in a learning situation based on videos via smartphones as a learning tool, and how this interaction and phenomena is experienced. The five test subject were separately given the same task that they were to solve using video instructions that were picked out and given to them. After finishing the task the subjects were observed while they demonstrated how they completed the task. After the observation the subject were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. The results show that the user experience of this phenomena is based on more pragmatic values than we could find in earlier studies, i.e.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how a newly built library and an old library from the sixties work out of an experience and feeling oriented view. Are the fundamental conditions of an old library compatible with the library standards of today? To be able to carry out this examination we have chosen two rather small Swedish libraries. One is the public library of Hässleholm, which opened in the year 2000, and the other is the public library of Kristianstad opened in 1965. The material used to attain the purpose of the study consists of literature studies and qualitative observations and interviews.

Democracy is now a legitimate claim not only in the society but even in the classrooms. According to the 1994 Curriculum for the Non-Compulsory School System, Lpf 94 in Sweden, are all pupils in all types of schools ought to have a high level of possibilities to be able to influence their education. But many studies have led to unsatisfactory results about the actual situation in schools. Swedish students are critical of the limited opportunities they have in influencing their own learning process. This essay is only one among the many studies that have dealt with school democracy during the last 50 years.

This study examines whether the ownership structure of Swedish firms contributes to explain the variations in executive pay. A regression analysis was performed on 102 companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The analysis suggests a negative relationship between ownership structure and executive pay after taking company profitability and size into account. The result is in line with previous studies and the agency theory. This indicates that large shareholders have a stronger position in Swedish companies or that large shareholders monitor the management to a larger extent, rather than providing incentives.
