The electric vehicle market has potential to contribute to Sweden?s national goal to have a fossil fuel independent transport sector by 2030. However, the market answers to a lot of challenges making it difficult for the market to fully reach its potential. The volume of electric vehicles has seen a steady increase during the last year (2012), although many of these vehicles are mostly for PR purposes or bought by the public sector that wants to lead by example. Still, barriers in the form of high purchase costs, an anxiety for the limited battery capacity and the lack of standardisation are some of the problems that the market is struggling to solve.

Denna rapport tar upp teorier och metoder kring användbarhet i skapandet av en Flash-applikation. Rapporten beskriver steg för steg i skapandeprocessen, hela vägen från att ta fram behov och användningsområde till att skapa innehållet och slutligen en utförlig redogörelse för hur applikationen sammansätts. Metoderna som använts är huvudsakligen ITK (Identity Tool Kit) och scenarier enligt Alan Cooper. Vidare har metoder för hopsättning och visualisering av applikationen använts med stöd av Nielsen och Raskins användbarhetsprinciper. Resultatet visar att för att använda ITK i syfte att kartlägga en verksamhet, kräver detta en stor förståelse och modifikation av denna.

Fabriken i Skövde tillverkar motorer i både bensin- och dieselvarianter. I framtiden planerar Volvo att införa nya typer av motorer med gruppnamnet VEA, Volvo Environmental Architecture. Dessa nya motorer kommer att vara standard i alla nya Volvobilar, men tillverkning av de gamla modellerna kommer att finnas kvar För att förstå hur de nya transportsystemen i fabriken kommer att fungera tillsammans med de gamla transportsystemen och för att veta om de transportsystemen kan hantera framtidens krav krävs en simuleringsmodell.Under våren 2011 gjordes ett liknande projekt, då en simuleringsmodell av transportsystemen skapades. Men eftersom modellen var för komplicerad och krävde mycket simuleringstid beslutades att en ny modell ska byggas för att kunna hantera optimering.Det finns tre huvudsakliga transportsystem, automatiskt styrda fordon (AGV), elektrisk hängbana (EHB) och manuella transporter med truckar.
