Digital kompetens : Äldreomsorgspersonals upplevelser av en digitaliserad arbetsplats
This study highlights the importance of computer technology and its impact on elder care staff's skills development in the public sector. The government presents the digital agenda within which information and communication technology today is considered to have a potential for sustainability, growth and development. According to the EU Commission, there are several important elements that should be improved to digitize the workplace. Among these are digital literacy, collaboration between agencies and increased investments in research, education and innovation. New technology can be understood in different ways by individuals, some see the computer as something positive and exciting, while others may find it hard to see the opportunities for learning and development.
Implementering av ISOBUS Virtual Terminal på fordonsdatorn CCP XS
Modern agriculture equipment are more computer based today, and many equipments use a terminal in the tractor where the driver have the opportunity to make adjustments to the equipment. This is the reason why ISO developed a new standard called ISOBUS. It is a communication standard based on CAN specially adapted for griculture equipments. The purpose of the standard is that it should be ossible to equip a tractor with a standard terminal called Virtual Terminal that can be used to control the equipment. The use of the terminal should be independent of the manufacturer of the tractor as well as of the equipment.The purpose of this report is to ?nd a solution of how to use CC Systems on-board computer, CCP XS, as a Virtual Terminal.
Virtuella Communities: Sociala faktorer i digitala miljöer
Virtual Communities is an increasingly common phenomenon on the Internet. Most
of the Virtual Communities are operated and maintained on a non-profit basis
with a direction towards entertainment. However, as more state administrated
and commercial services become web-based, we believe that the number of Virtual
Communities with a community-based or commercial direction will increase in a
near future.
In this thesis, we describe our participation in, and studies of, a
number of Virtual Communities with focus on the IRC-channel ?3dfxsweden?. On
the basis of our experiences, we describe the social elements that form the
foundation on which the Virtual Community rely on.

In this Bachelor thesis I explore sound and room as elements in design of user
interfaces, both theoretical and practical in a specific application domain, to
identify some of the advantages and disadvantage associated with these elements.
As application domain I studied email clients and their usage at home amongst
students at Blekinge Institute of Technology. In the study I found an activity,
which seems to be highly distributed in the physical room where the user is
located. The activity was notification of email and could take place in an
arbitrary location of the home. I then augmented this activity with ideas from
my theoretical assumption about room and sound.
The result was a rule-based agent for notification of
email, which primarily uses sound as interaction style..

Forskningen resulterade i en hypotes för hur digital materia skulle födas i
datorn: genom att blanda två uppsättningar av data, såsom två genuppsättningar
tillsammans skapar en ny organism. Under produktionen utvecklades därmed en
metod för hur en grafiker ska kunna skapa tillsammans med en dator. Syftet är
att ge andra grafiker ett nytt sätt att se på digital grafik.

Companies also use sponsorship to create relationships with the company's target audience. The use of Internet and Internet marketing has also increased during the last years and this paper examines the combination of these two areas, sponsorship and Internet marketing. A survey that examines the websites owned by companies who also are sponsors, answers the following problem:How do companies communicate their sponsorship on their own homepages?The purpose of this study is to describe how companies use their homepage to communicate their sponsorship.
Värderingar kring fysiska papper på Södertörns högskola
Problem: This report concerns how the students of Södertörn högskola values physical papers. Even though technology have made it possible to digitalise documents, students today print and copy documents more then ever before. It will examine what the students finds valuable in physical papers and why they choose to print a document they just as well could read and manipulate via a computer.Method: This report consists of an empiric study, in form of a web poll and of a number of interviews. Furthermore earlier studies on the matter will be taking in consideration during the analysis.Results: The study shows that the students of Södertörns högskola values physical papers highly. The students choose to print a document since they find that it is easier to read, to make notes and that a printed document is easier to use on the move, rather then using a computer..

This Batchelor?s Thesis concerns 20 points at the MDA-program (People, Computers and Work) at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Ronneby, Sweden. 10 points concerns Computer Science and 10 points Human Work Science. The thesis is about the process of starting a new department of Blekingesjukhuset [Blekinge Hospital] in Karlshamn, Blekinge called Sjukvårdsrådgivningen [Health Care Advice Bureau]. The thesis starts with a description of the ethnographical methods used, followed by the process of establishing the department.
Vår utvecklingsprocess - designaspekter på ett befintligt webbsystem
Den här rapporten är ett resultat av ett kandidatarbete på 20-poäng. Projektet
som rapporten handlar om, beskriver hur utvecklingen av ett webbutikssystem åt
ett flertal företag gått till. De har i sin tur köpt webbsystemet från
företaget Opti Use som givit oss uppgiften. I rapporten diskuteras hur
utvecklingsprocessen gått till och hur ett arbete med ett befintligt system
upplevts. Rapporten beskriver även hur lösningen på uppgiften har tagit form
och hur utvecklingsprocessen påverkat den.
Datorprogram i skolmiljö : en utvald grundskola som fallstudie
In this thesis I'm trying to investigate how good educational computer programs work in elementary school. I delimited the study to contain one elementary school in the stages of 6 to 9. The method I used was qualitative and the approach was inductive. I interviewed four teachers and five pupils as the way to collect data for the study. The theories I used were parts from different books with authors, which have done similar studies and researches.
Att rekonstruera världen : tillämpade på de moderna olympiska spelen
The aim of this essay is to illustrate a modern phenomenon, the Olympic Games, by applying the ideas of Mircea Eliade concerning space, time and myth. This literature study is mainly divided in two parts, one descriptive and one analytic. In the first part Eliade?s ideas and some criticism, which has been pointed against his theoretical approaches as well as his character, are presented. In the second part an analysis is carried out, based on the previously presented ideas and elements essential for the Olympics; the idea of the Olympics, the place, the ceremonies, the competition and the concept of individual idolism.I have discussed what seems like gnostic tendencies in Eliade?s ideas, in the sense that both Eliade?s ideas and the concept of Gnosticism argue that knowledge is a necessary condition for salvation, as well as the fact that Eliade and his ideas have not always a pro-Christian approach.
Dubbelklicka på Emil - en studie av arbetet med CD-romspel med litterära förebilder på några folkbiblioteks barnavdelningar
The technical evolution has a great influence on the public libraries. Electronic media becomes more and more common. This Master´s thesis is based upon the Swedish Library law 9§ (SFS 1996:1596) which says: Public- and school libraries should pay special attention to children and teenagers by offering books, information technology and other media, adapted to their needs, to encourage development of language and stimulate reading. From this point of view we have examined why the children´s departments in public libraries offer CD-ROM games which are based upon characters from the literature, how they are used in the daily activity and how they can contribute to the development of the children´s department.We have made literary studies and empirical investigations including interviews, observation studies etc. The results from this studies shows that both young and adults appreciate the CD-ROM games.
Utforskande aktiviteter i Serious Games : En studie av hur rumsligt och narrativt utforskande kan påverka spelarens motivation
Syftet med det här arbetet var att undersöka om spelaren fann det mer engagerande att spela när fakta till stor del presenterades som en del av spelets narrativ i motsats till om fakta till stor del presenterades fristående från det. Syftet var också att undersöka om det var motiverande att ställas inför en utmanande rumslig utforskning för att avancera genom spelet och därmed kunna komma till dessa informationsbaserade moment. En specialdesignad modul som stödjer dessa spelaktiviteter skapades därför i två olika versioner ? en var för de båda typerna av faktapresentation. Arbetet baserar sig därför på teori om olika typer av utforskning, med fokus på narrativ och rumslig utforskning, motivation, belöningar och speldesign.
