This thesis work involves a quantitative study concerning secondary school students' understanding of older Swedish words in the lyrics in the Lucia song written by Elmfors way back in 1919th. The text has some old words and phrases that today's high school students do not really understand. The study includes surveys of two different classes in high school, a theoretical and a practical program. In some cases students can understand words by the context, but previous research shows results in general weakness in students' existing vocabulary. According to previous research, this is due, inter alia, that young people read and write less today.The results of all students are totally 38%, where the theoretical program has a slightly higher performance.

Children and adolescents without a parent, or other representative, annually come to seek asylum in Sweden. In the work with unaccompanied children there are many actors who have different responsibilities and interaction between these actors is essential to meet the unaccompanied children?s needs. Our purpose with this study was to generate knowledge for professionals for a possible development in the receipt of unaccompanied children. We have conducted a qualitative study, through interviews with eight professionals.

Declining union memberships are a fact in both Sweden and Finland. At the same time, the autonomous labour market parties and the high membership rates are the most significant factors for the two countries compared to Europe and the rest of the world. These two factors have in turn been developed and strengthened since the beginning of the twentieth century. By autonomous labour market parties I refer to the fact that the labour market parties themselves through collective bargaining are agreeing on the labour market conditions, without interference from the government.This paper is therefore taking it's stance in the question of what happens with the autonomous labour market parties when the membership rates are in decline. With this in mind, this paper describes the judicial development, the collective agreement and labour market structures, the legal consequences of collective agreements and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action in both Sweden and Finland. The two countries' systems of labour law have caught some negative attention, hence two of the most discussed cases of recent years are given some attention as well. The collective judicial conditions are very similar in both Sweden and Finland regarding the labour market main actors' collaboration, the collective agreement structures and legal consequences and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action.

The world has become a globalized place in constant development and much of which is now taken for granted did not even exist 30-40 years ago, such as smartphones or Internet in common households. As new tourist destinations is continuously being created, it becomes increasingly important with effective place marketing to compete in the global market. Developing a good and interesting profile is thus a way for places to become more attractive for tourists. The main theory in the paper is "post-industrialization and the entrepreneurial city" which describes how cities in the global north have moved away from industry towards becoming post-industrial cities ? very often with a strong focus on tourism.

The concept of sustainable development has been pervasive in recent years and many organizations choose to implement sustainability and adapt their activities accordingly. The purpose of this study have been to explore how a collaboration on the use of waste materials may look to analyze what influences cooperation. A case study has been carried out examining a Swedish state regional project aimed at creating partnerships between actors and utilizing textile waste with the help of design. The study was conducted using qualitative methods and the collection of data has been done through interviews and by examining documents. The results show that there are seven key factors that affect cooperation: expectations, commitment, internal communication, a strong non-profit actor, individual treatment, personal networks and the diversity of actors.

Abstract:Job satisfaction has great significance for nurses. The job is very demanding and requires a great deal of responsibility. Low job satisfaction and organisation changes affect their work negatively. The aim of the study was to investigate the nurses? job satisfaction and job situation.

Det finns idag inte mycket forskning na?r det ga?ller personer med grav intellektuell funk- tionsnedsa?ttning, inte i samband med musik och framfo?rallt inte ur ett aktivitetsper- spektiv. Jag har inte studerat den medicinska forskningen utan ha?llit mig till den forsk- ning som riktar sig mot livskvalitet och livsvillkor fo?r dessa personer. Den forskning som riktar sig mot personer med grav intellektuell funktionsnedsa?ttning har till stor del musikterapeutiska perspektiv.Syftet med denna uppsats a?r att fo?rsta? aktiviteten musik tillsammans med personer med grav utvecklingssto?rning.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur lärare i grundskolans tidigare år uppfattar den pedagogiska principen att anknyta till elevers erfarenhet, samt hur de uppfattar att ett mångkulturellt klassrum påverkar möjligheten att anknyta till elevers er­far­enhet. Det em­pi­riska materialet består av en gruppintervju och fem enskilda inter­vjuer med lärare i grundskolans tidigare år, samt fyra observationer av arbetspass. Den teoretiska utgångs­punkten tas i John Deweys syn på kunskap och erfarenhet som en process, kompletterat med element från interkulturell pedagogik. Resultaten visar att den pedagogiska prin­cip­en om att anknyta till elevers erfarenhet är väl förankrad hos lärarna, och att de synlig­gör och visar intresse för elevernas erfarenheter i klassrummet. Samtidigt skulle ett yt­ter­ligare fokus på erfaren­hetens dynamiska aspekt bättre överens­stämma med Deweys kunskapssyn samt möjliggöra ett djupare och mer meningsfullt lärande för eleverna.

This thesis has been carried out in collaboration with the IT Company MPQ consulting AB in Halmstad. The task we were assigned by MPQ concerned the development of a scooter that can be used year round. We have with the companydeveloped the criteria and requirements for the product in which the goal is toproduce a primary solution that meets the set criteria and fall within the project'sboundaries.The project involves a wide range of different design methods for idea generationand idea development. The project also addresses engineering methods such asprinciple and primary engineering. Occurringmethods in the project include FredyOlsson principle and primary engineering in cooperation with SVID's - Swedishindustrial design process, etc.The final solution will be presented in the form of sketches, CAD models withassociated drawings and a rendering from the program Keyshot..

The aim of this qualitative study was to examine bereaved individuals? experiences of support from their social networks and participation in support groups. The theoretical framework is based on theories about social support and parts of the attachment theory. Data were collected from four interviews and analysed by the study?s theoretical framework.

We have come to the understanding that Event Marketing is in the course of constant development. It seems like Event Marketing as a marketing tool is starting to get its well-merited position in the marketing mix throughout the world, since companies and other organisations have realized that Event Marketing is a powerful tool for differentiation. We have also seen that Event Marketing in the business world lately has come to be more important for building and maintaining relationships, as well as carrying marketing messages.In this essay we discuss Event Marketing in three sections; brand, relationships, and customer experience. Among these topics, inter alia Integrated Marketing Communications, Sensory Marketing, and Service-dominant Logic are presented.

To assure good quality the software needs to be tested to find errors and to verify that the programme meets the customer?s expectations. Traditional methods are usually used in software development and means that a number of predetermined steps are followed. By using agile methods the development can more easily be adapted to the changes on the market. With these methods the testing is carried out continuously throughout the project.

The purpose of this paper is to find out pedagogues approach to intercultural education through IVIK, goals and guidelines, the school for newly arrived students and how student experience and knowledge are utilized. In my study, I used a qualitative research method. I have interviewed four teachers and four students and a school administrator at IVIK. Results of the study show that most teachers have a good understanding of interculturalism, but that doesn?t mean that teachers make of this relationship means in their teachings.

Vardagsrehabilitering av äldre utgör en stor del i hemtjänstpersonalens dagliga arbete, där arbetsterapeuten kan vara behjälplig med bland annat handledning och utbildningar för perso-nalen. Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda på hemtjänstpersonalens erfarenheter av hur vardagsrehabilitering i hemmet fungerar och kan förbättras inom äldreomsorg. Författarna har använt sig av en kvalitativ ansats med semistrukturerade intervjuer för att samla in data. Inter-vjuerna utfördes inom två kommuner i sydöstra Sverige hos både kommunala samt privata hemtjänstaktörer. Datan analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys vilket resulterade i fyra kategorier: ?Att möjliggöra vardagsrehabilitering för äldre?, ?Att samverka med kollegor och andra instanser?, ?Att arbeta i den äldres hem? samt ?Att förstå samt utveckla ett vardagsre-habiliterande arbetssätt?.

The aim of this master thesis was to examine a possible connection between chromatin functions and the DNA damage repair system, with the imprinted IGF2/H19 locus as a bait. Interactions can occur within and between chromosomes and it has been shown that H19 ICR on both alleles can communicate with alleles on other chromosomes. The methylation-sensitive insulator protein CTCF is bound on the maternal H19 ICR and acts as an insulator by blocking the IGF2 promoter to access its enhancers. This is possible by formation of loop structures by CTCF that enables intra and inter-chromosomal interactions. CTCF is poly(ADP-ribosyl)ated by PARP-1 when it is bound to H19 ICR.
