Den reflekterande chefen - Ledarutveckling och chefers reflektioner

The essay examines managers reflection after attending a leader development program. When examining their thoughts the author starts out from the assumption that leader development programs with reflecting elements can create reflection on management/leadership and the organisations management behaviour. The examination is done whit help of a case study on a company in the paint industry. To test the assumption the author uses a combination of questioners and interviews on eight managers who has finished a leader development program. The result is analysed by bringing forward the managers general assumptions an by finding relations between opinions on needs, existing norms and preferred management/leadership.

Blinkbeteendebaserad trötthetsdetektering : metodutveckling och validering

Electrooculogram (EOG) data was used to develop, adjust and validate a method for drowsiness detection in drivers. The drowsiness detection was based on changes in blink behaviour and classification was made on a four graded scale. The purpose was to detect early signs of drowsiness in order to warn a driver. MATLAB was used for implementation. For adjustment and validatation, two different reference measures were used; driver reported ratings of drowsiness and an electroencephalogram (EEG) based scoring scale.

Logopeders bedömarreliabilitet vid perceptuell röstanalys av utvalda röstexempel : en början till ett referensröstmaterial

Vid användning av audio-perceptuell röstanalys för framtagning av referensröster är begreppet reliabilitet av central betydelse. Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka reliabiliteten mellan erfarna röstlogopeders perceptuella röstanalys av ett antal utvalda röstexempel. Förhoppningen var att utifrån detta kunna sammanställa en början till ett referensröstmaterial bestående av manliga och kvinnliga referensröster representativa för olika parametrar i SVEA-protokollet. De specifika frågeställningarna var: Hur samstämmiga i perceptuell röstanalys är bedömarna kring de valda röstexemplens olika parametrar? Är någon eller några av de parametrar som bedömarna är överens om extra framträdande i någon röst så att denna röst kan användas som referensröst? Utifrån en databas med 65 röstinspelningar valdes 15 röstexempel ut av författarna att skattas av sju erfarna logopeder med SVEA-protokollet.

Investor Relations : En studie i möjligheten att påverka en aktiekurs

Uppsatsens syfte är att erhålla en förståelse för hur olika intressenter (företags Investor relations-avdelning, analytiker, media) på kapitalmarknaden tänker och agerar gällandes att stabilisera ett företags aktiekurs med stöd av Investor relations (IR). Det är även intressant att belysa och erhålla en bred förståelse gällande intressenternas handlande och hur deras beteende kan tänkas påverka en aktiekurs. För att erhålla en god empiri användes en kvalitativ metod med sex personliga intervjuer. Respondenterna utgörs av två börsnoterade företags IR-avdelning, Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) och Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB). Vidare intervjuades två analytiker som analyserar de nyss nämnda företagen.

Interbedömarreliabilitet i affektavläsning - en explorativ metodstudie

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka reliabiliteten i en metod för att observera affektuttryck, Stålforsmetoden. Stålforsmetoden fokuserar primärt på affektuttryck i ansiktet, och mer specifikt den första affekten som en patient uttrycker under en psykoterapisession (?överföringsaffekt?). Den teoretiska grunden är affektteori som utvecklats av Silvan Tomkins och Paul Ekman. Data har samlats in med strukturerad observation och analyseras kvantitativt.

The aim of this study was to illuminate nurse?sperceptions about caring for children at hospital with palliative care needs, and how they shift focus of care between children with palliative care needs and children with curative care needs. The study has a qualitative approach and data were collected with interviews from two focus groups.

Att "gilla" ett museum : En komparativ fallstudie av tre museers externa kommunikation

The aim and purpose of this essay is to study if three museums are using Facebook strategically to promote two-way communication with their target audiences in their external communication. A qual-itative and comparative research method and has been used and communication managers from each of the three museums have been interviewed. These interviews have been transcribed and coded in order to reveal opinions and views on how that particular museum feels about social media and the use of these tools in their external communication. A number of Facebook statuses have also been collect-ed in order to discover how each of the museums is using social media in order to reach and engage their target groups. Should the results of this essay be summarized it would show that the museums are using the communication channel that they feel suits the needs of reaching a specific audience.

Särbo eller sambo? En historisk analys av förändringsprocessen rörande integrationen av UD och Sidas utlandsmyndigheter, granskande förutsättningarna för politisk implementering.

On three occasions, in 1973, 1993 and 2005, Swedish parliament and government has resolved to integrate the, previously independent, foreign offices beloning to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) with the Swedish embassies. The implemenation of the integrationreform has however been a lengthy process. This thesis adresses two main issues: how has the integrationreform been able to remain a viable recipe for organizational change over time and why has the integrationprocess taken so long? Lastly I assess the possibility for effective implementation following the decision 2005.Based on New Institutionalism I conducted an historical analysis of the integrationprocess to explore the conditions for reform. My results indicate that the integrationreform primarly suited the interests of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, making the Foreign Serivce more effective and clarifying the Ministry's responsibilty for Swedish development cooperation policy.

AbstractSkanska Sweden has decided to split the organization that earlier handled both large and small projects into two different subsidiaries. A consequence of this is that all construction service handling will from now on be enforced under the name Skanska Direkt AB. The management of Skanska sees this as an opportunity to develop the organization and in the long term achieve higher earnings.   The task which Skanska in connection with the reorganization wanted to be investigated was a proposal on how the organization of work with the insurance work in the future should look like.The organization that is handled is from production manager to professional workers and includes damage handling that has been obtained from insurance companies in the southern and northern parts of Värmland. The purpose with this work is to present a different kind of view to the problem with developing this branch of the company. The main target was to work out a proposal of an organizational plan for the damage handling in Skanska Direkt AB that is possible to apply, less sensitive for dismissals, results in higher earnings, obtains higher customer satisfaction and also a staff stab that develops their skills at their own.The report and work progressed as following:Opening theory study of strategies to obtain the objectives set.Restructuring of existing organization with theories as support.Interviews with the actors involved to verify feasibility of the developed organization plan  Organization chart, the result of work means that some workers at each location shall be responsible for a small group of workers and work independently. They shall manage the process of invoicing and calculate costs at the same time as they work out on the workplace.

This master thesis is discussing ten pony books from 2006 in relation to the heterosexual matrix. It contains a rather extensive research overview regarding horse riding from a gender perspective, pony books, traditional feminist studies of girls? books and queer readings of girls? and children?s literature. The aim of the empirical study is two folded; firstly to show how the girl protagonists? horse riding is presented in terms of masculinity and femininity (as defined by Natalie Koivula), secondly to analyze the relations between the girls appearing in the books from a queer perspective attempting to find some queer leakage in the depictions.

Ambulanspersonalens upplevelser av stress och hur det hanteras : En kvalitativ studie

Abstrakt Bakgrund: Dagligen utsätts ambulanspersonalen för situationer som mer eller mindre uppfattas psykiskt påfrestande. Stressen som kan uppstå under tjänstgöring upplevs ofta olika beroende på individ. Forskningen har i dagsläget mest fokuserat på stressorer, men det finns ett behov av en djupare förståelse av hur ambulanspersonalen upplever stressen och hur de bär sig åt för att hantera stressen. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva ambulanspersonalens upplevelser av stress och hur de hanterar det. Metod: Till studien valdes selektivt 21 personer ut från en ambulansstation i Västernorrlands län. Fyra fokusgruppsintervjuer gjordes och spelades in för att sedan analyseras genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Fjorton män och sju kvinnor i åldrarna mellan 25-63år medverkade i studien och representerades av ambulanssjukvårdare, sjuksköterskor och specialistutbildade sjuksköterskor. Resultat: Ambulanspersonalens upplevelse av stress berodde på allt från osäkerhet med sin kompetens, ansvar och bristande rutiner.

ORGANISATIONER I FÖRÄNDRING -EN JÄMFÖRELSE AV SOCIALT ARBETE MELLAN EN OFFENTLIG OCH EN PRIVAT VERKSAMHET

ABSTRACT This study consists of a comparison between a public and a private organization that works with people with mental unhealth. The first organization is an authority that conducts investigations to determine if their clients are qualified to receive some sort of help in their daily lives as a part of the Swedish welfare system. The private organization works with offering different kinds of daily activities for people with mental unhealth as a work-training program or to help them create a daily routine in their lives. Our purpose with this paper is to compare the work of the two different organizations based on their organizational framework to see what similarities and differences there are in their work and their chosen approach in meetings with their clients. Our chosen method is that of semi-structured qualitative interviews with three different employees in each organization.
