A persistent problem in the construction industry is its low margins of profit. It is often difficult to earn money due to low efficiency and high costs. Logistics on the construction site answers for a large amount of these costs and it is therefore of interest to find new, more efficient logistic solutions. The purpose of this thesis is to compare two different logistic systems and further to evaluate which one that is the most efficient and profitable. A comparison is made between the traditional logistic systems used for years and a new logistic system developed by an industry association called BEAst.

Self-driving cars are soon to become a reality to the commercial market. A self-driving car does not have a human operator, which enables some interesting characteristics. The main benefits are considered to be:The number of accidents and traffic jams should be reduced.Enhanced comfort.Energy usage could be decreased while capacity could be increased.This study concerns the causes for improved energy efficiency. The reason for improved energy efficiency is mainly because of the variation in terms of acceleration, braking and distance holding are reduced. The vehicles are more intelligent and can work together as a unity.

Andelen äldre invånare i Sverige har ökat stadigt sedan 1950-talet. Trygg Hemmakonsortiet arbetar med att utveckla nya sätt att ta hand om de äldre. Deras vision är attskapa ett Intelligent hem som kan stödja de äldre i sitt kvarboende. Konsortiet består inuläget av elva företag och ett antal organisationer i Halmstad. Syftet med vårexamensarbete är att utreda hur Stakeholder Theory kan appliceras på ett konsortiumunder utveckling.

This thesis aims to analyse ontology, primarily as the word is used in the context of the Semantic Web. One of the main questions is how ontologies relate to classification and thesauri, two concepts well known within Library and Information Science. The vision of the Semantic Web, a more intelligent addition to the current World Wide Web, has raised the question of how to deal with information scattered over a multitude of locations, stored in different formats, written in different languages et cetera. This issue is in many ways similar to the classical problems encountered in library science: how to classify and categorise large amounts of information. The use of ontologies is one of the main steps leading to the Semantic Web, as well as a tool which can be used in other areas of information organisation and management.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa ocker och jämföra med 36 § avtalslagen Uppsatsen använder traditionell juridisk metod. Traditionell juridisk metod innebär att man använder olika rättskällor som lagstiftning, förarbeten, praxis och doktrin. Kriterier för ocker är trångmål, oförstånd, lättsinne och beroendeställning.

Det här arbetet har undersökt hur inlärning av hur en datorstyrd karaktär fattar sina beslut baserat på det gällande speltillståndet, påverkar spelarens uppfattning om hur mänskligt intelligent dess resulterande beteende uppfattas, med bakgrunden att det finns ett behov av intelligentare beteenden hos karaktärer i spel. Undersökningen har genomförts genom att jämföra en tillståndsmaskin med ett artificiellt neuralt nätverk, implementerade i ett enklare actionspel med en spelare och en datorstyrd karaktär. Nätverket är konstruerat att initialt bete sig som tillståndsmaskinen, men sedan utveckla sitt beteende genom att lära från den individuella spelarens spelstil. Ett antal testpersoner har sedan fått spela spelet mot respektive teknik, och fått ange hur de upplevde respektive beteende i en enkätundersökning. Resultatet av undersökningens sammanställda data särskiljer inte det resulterande beteendet från tillståndsmaskinen med beteendet från det artificiella neurala nätverket, vilket kan ha en förklaring i undersökningens felkällor, samt den mindre domänen teknikerna implementerats i..

Intelligent IT-based solutions, often called Smart Grids, are considered to be the future balancers of renewable energy sources. One area within the Smart Grid concept is called demand response, which is focused on making customers more consumption flexible by making them more active in their consumption. In this thesis the aim is to analyze a business model by investigating the income potential for a demand response solution as well as its market potential. This has been done through literature studies, interviews and development of a computational model.The use of 5000 households with flexible consumption can provide a cost reduction of 17.2% or 2.4 million SEK for a balance responsible party during an average year. If the solution is used to make strategic bids on the regulation markets the study indicates that the largest potential for revenues lies within this strategy.

This paper is a research review in the realm of censorship systems andfiltering systems. It applies ethical considerations to the creation of censorshipsystems bringing forward discussion on the ethics of technology with thepurpose of limiting access to information.There is active research being done in the area of automatic content filteringand censorship systems. These are systems that can filter out undesiredmaterial, typically from the Internet, automatically. Used in some nations,many schools and even mandated in some libraries there are many ethicalquestions raised concerning censorship and access to information.Part of the review concerns the level of accuracy of these systems presentedby researchers in the field and the different approaches used. Reviewedarticles centre around automatic content classification and filtering ofpotentially harmful materials with regards to minors while some relate tocensorship technology in a wider sense.Results show a general lack of discussion concerning the ethics of thetechnology in the research reviewed.

This thesis deals with the characterization of Japan and Japanese people by Swedish travelers during the Meiji period. It seeks to answer what aspects of Japanese people two Swedish travelers chose to highlight, and how these aspects were presented in their travelogues. This thesis also has a second aim. By applying Edward Said?s theory of orientalism, it wants to answer if Swedish travelogues were influenced by western 19th century ideas of colonialism and imperialism.

Artikelns fokus ligger på smarta elnät och specifikt den distribuerade kontrollen av dem. Syftet med projektet var skapa hårdvaran och mjukvaran till ett distribuerat informations- och kontrollsystem för att kunna styra lasterna till en liten elnätsmodell, ICS byn (Industrial Information and Control Systems). Speciellt så skulle det undersökas om det var möjligt att skapa ett fungerande kontrollsystem med billiga kommersiella produkter, Raspberry Pi:s och Arduinos. Projektets resultat kommer sedan att användas för ett fortsatt utvecklingsarbete på ICS.För att skapa det distribuerade kontrollsystemet så användes JACK Intelligent Agents, en utvecklings miljö för multiagent system baserat åa Java. Rapporten tar upp de olika hårdvarukomponenterna Arduino, en mikrokontroller och Raspberry Pi, en linuxbaserad dator och transistorkretsarna som har byggts för att kunna driva de elektromekaniska brytarna i byn från Arduinon.

?The myth of Palme- a textual analysis of the documentary Palme and its description of the social memory of Olof Palme as a norm or anomaly? by Emma Svanström aims to analyze how the directors of the documentary Palme choose to present Olof Palme to the future generations. Also the goal is to find out if their version presents Palme as a person who followed the norms or was divergent.To this purpose the thesis use textual analysis combined with a quantitative method in search of which persons the directors give the right to form the myth of Palme and which keywords they use to do describe him. To view the film as a social memory in the transformation to a myth the thesis use Jan Assmans theory of social memory and to find out if the documentary describes Palme as following the norms or divergent it uses Mary Douglas theory of anomaly.The results show that it is mainly the narrator and Olof Palme that gets to form the myth of him but also his family, friends, fellow employees and other persons that met him or was affected by his actions. Palme is discribed as special, intelligent, interested in social politics and able to act as he saw fit even if it was against the norms.

Hösten 1991 startade Linköpings kommun ett projekt, som syftade till att införa ett kommungemensamt geografiskt informationssystem, LINGIS. Systemet hanterar kommunens fastigheter, byggnader, vägar och planer som geografiska individer med koppling till befintliga källregister, såsom fastighetsdatasystemet och personinvånarregistret. Kommunlantmäteriet, som har uppdrag att förvalta och utveckla systemet, vill undersöka möjligheterna att använda LINGIS som informationskälla i ett realtidssystem. I examensarbetet utvecklas ett testsystem för att undersöka möjligheter och ge erfarenheter av positionsbestämning i realtid. Genom att sända positionsdata från till exempel ett fordon till en sambandscentral är det möjligt att påverka källan.

Gender portrayal in childrens literature is now one subject of vast study, since literature often carry underlying messages of the perception of male and female. With this in mind, the purpose of this thesis was to analyse, mainly through Maria Nikolajeva?s scheme of gender ideal types, how the Swedish writer Per Gustavsson portrayed girls in four of his so called Prince- and princess books.

Denna B-uppsats tar upp prestanda och återställning mellan två vanligt förekommande mjukvarubaserade RAID-system. Mjukvarubaserad RAID har blivit mer och mer intressant eftersom det är ett billigt och bra sätt att skydda sig mot hårdvarufel på hårddiskar. Tidigare har det inneburit prestandaförluster om man inte har använt en hårdvarubaserad RAID kontroller men med dagens snabba processorer är det inte längre så. Hårddiskar går för eller senare sönder och för ett RAID-system som ska vara igång tjugofyra timmar om dygnet är det viktigt att det även då fungerar med bra prestanda. Denna undersökning visar hur mycket sämre prestandan blir under sådana omständigheter samt hur lång återställningstid man kan förvänta sig på ett datorssystem uppbyggt av delar för hemmabruk.
