Background: Language skills are of great importance for all work at school and for students' future life and activities. Therefore it is particularly important that preschool and school in every way possible should encourage and support ALL children's linguistic development. Many linguists points out that all learning takes place best in natural and meaningful contexts and around a meaningful content.Theory: The study is based on theories created by the renowned theorist Lev Vygotsky who illustrates what is important to encourage children's reading development. Vygotsky?s theories regarding the zone for the next development were reflected in the study.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe what Building Information Modeling, BIM, could mean for landscape architects, and also hopefully to make sense of the possibilities and problems of the system. BIM is about virtual design and is based on all consultancy groups in the design team modeling in 3D. Intelligent objects and metadata, such as price and material, are used. The project group has a common interchange format for simple sharing of information. To get an idea of how the situation with BIM for landscape architects looks like today, I collected information mostly through interviews.

The purpose of this essay is to study the public debate on the subject of creationism, the belief that there is a creator of all life on earth. The study is focused on creationism in different forms in schools and the more general discussion of creationism as an alternative to the theory of evolution. The overall question is what should be taught as the origin of life: Evolution or creationism in various shapes and forms? The essay consists of an overview of previous research in both the USA and Sweden, and an analysis of argumentation on the issue in newspapers. A comparison is made between the USA and Sweden.The analysis of newspapers shows that there are some arguments for different forms of creationism but there are considerably more arguments against creationism.

Flera av Sveriges största kvälls- och dagstidningar är sedan ett par år tillgängliga på Internet. Ett alternativ till att distribuera dem via Internet är broadcasting. I det här examensarbete har tyngdpunkten legat på att utforma en personlig tidning anpassad för att distribueras via rundradionätet i stället för via Internet. Jag har analyserat tre olika lösningar nämligen 1. En webbaserad och plattformsoberoende variant i XML + Java, 2.

 De senaste åren har utbudet av TV-kanaler ökat och det är idag vanligt att man har tillgång till så pass många kanaler att det är svårt att överblicka dem på ett enkelt sätt. Det finns olika tekniker för att sortera fram önskvärd information till användaren, men ingen design är anpassad varken för att hantera den nya förbättrade upplösningen eller de nya intelligenta funktionerna. Detta arbete har formulerats för att få fram ett exempel på hur den förbättrade upplösningen kan utnyttjas i programguiden samt för att få ett gränssnitt mot de intelligenta funktionerna. Egenskaper för programguiden togs fram som stöd för de inledanden pappersskisserna, varefter en välgrundad och detaljerad datordesign gjordes. En implementation i skalbar vektorgrafik (SVG) gjordes i den slutgiltiga prototypen för att demonstrera animationer och användbarhet.

I Elevers förhållningssätt till klassrumsregler tar vi upp hur elever i skolår 6 upplever och förhåller sig till klassrumsregler. Syftet är att få en förståelse för elevers förhållningssätt till regler för att kunna underlätta lärarnas samt elevernas arbete i hur regler ska utvecklas och upprätthållas. Undersökningen har utförts med kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer då vi vill lyfta fram elevernas perspektiv kring regler. Resultatet har sedan bearbetats och analyserats genom tidigare forskning samt John Deweys sanningsteori med fokus på intelligent action och learning by doing. Resultatet visade att regler är ett diffust begrepp som innefattas av många olika faktorer som försvårar elevers förhållningssätt till dem.

Denna rapport undersöker möjligheten att bryta ner ett stort program till mindre och enkaler moduler och skapa en dataöverförings- och kommunikationsarkitektur mellan dem. Dataöverföringen skall vara dynamisk för att olika moduler skall under exekvering ha möjlighet att byta modul den vill ha data ifrån samt centralisera koden och kommunikationen skall optimera antalet meddelandeöverföringar. Arbetet resulterar i två arkitekturer som uppfyller tidigare satta målen i ett parallellt system, arbetet analyseras sedan analytiskt och styrkor och svagheter undersöks. Arkitekturerna medför att många problem med att utveckla stora system undviks och detta skapar fler möjliga kopplingar, mindre komplexa moduler samt centralisering av funktionalitet i programmet..

Det finns inte många kvinnliga huvudpersoner inom sf?spel. Undersökningens resultat är tänkt att ge en inblick i vilka egenskaper som föredras vid val av en kvinnlig karaktär för ett sf?spel. Utifrån en genrestudie av science fiction skapades tre egenskapsgrupper: könsneutral, sexualiserad och aktiv.

Detta examensarbete gjordes på uppdrag av Kiruna kommun, Tekniska verken AB. Denna fallstudie av Nationella vägdatabasen (NVDB) och Lokal vägdatabas (LVDB) ur kommunal synvinkel, beskriver för och nackdelar med att gå med i NVDB och vilka möjliga vinster som kan härledas ur ett avtal med NVDB. I rapporten ingår även en tillämpad metod hur en inventering och revision av lokala trafikföreskrifter med anpassning till NVDB genomförs.Tanken med NVDB är att den ska vara en heltäckande databas med information om alla Sveriges vägar. Information som finns lagrad i denna databas är den geografiska placeringen och vägens egenskaper. Exempel på egenskaper som lagras är: vägens namn, vägbredd, hastighetsbegränsning, hinder, mm.

When traffic in large cities increases, it becomes more vulnerable to disturbances such as accidents, stalled vehicles or construction; therefore, traffic jams are more likely to occur. For better control of the traffic at a disturbance the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) has traffic equipment which can be controlled from a command centre. This traffic equipment consists of gates and signs with variable messages. This report will discuss the system used for traffic control in Stockholm. It will present proposals designed to improve it.

The purpose of this essay has been to explore Alexander the Great from two different perspectives in Greece. The village Proti Serron represents the local area and the national area named Macedonia represents the second perspective. Oral history has been used as a method in addition to literature and trips to museums and archaeological places.As a guideline for the essay and its contents a stereotyped schedule has been created. This schedule is presented below, and it is also possible to read it backwards.The villagers who identify themselves with Alexander the Great from their local area Proti Serron which is a part of the national area named Macedonia.This study proves that the villagers who has been interviewed, identify themselves with the place they live in as well as its history and that they feel that it is their duty to pass this knowledge forward. Alexander the Great is described as intelligent, humble, a man of strength and courage as well as a strategist and sovereign.

The aim of this essay is to examine how educated immigrants from former Yugoslavia are experiencing the Swedish labor market and if they feel that there are factors that complicate their ability to establish themselves in the Swedish labor market. We have also examined whether and if so, how their status has changed in connotation with the move to Sweden. The method we have used is a qualitative interview study where we asked questions from a semi-structured interview guide. We chose to make use of both previous research and a number of analytical tools for using these to interpret inequality and discrimination that exist in the Swedish labor against educated immigrants. The results presented four factors that our respondents perceive contribute to difficulty in establishing themselves in the Swedish labor market, these are: contacts, name, validation and trainee post.
