Uppsala Universitet: Institutionen för Musikvetenskap, uppsats för 60p. 2007The aim of this essay is to contribute to the knowledge of the Instrumental music of the Düben Collection in Uppsala, by presenting two sonatas by a rather unknown composer, Nicolaus Adam Strungk. A great deal of the music in the Düben collection comes from Nothern Germany so one purpose has also been to investigate if even Strungk's sonatas have stylistic influenses from that region.

The aim of this study is to illustrate conceptions held by librarians and library and information scientists about weeding practices of printed books in public libraries. The study has been carried out by performing a series of qualitative interviews with librarians and by study of earlier research relating to the subject of weeding. The results have been analysed by utilizing a textual analysis method called idea and ideology analysis using so called dimensions to analyse and structure the results. The results indicate that weeding at Swedish public libraries is carried out by a mixture of objective and subjective methods, with certain statistical elements. Weeding procedures mainly appears to be legitimized according to what one refers to as knowledge of the local community, although lack of lending are cited from time to time.

Det här examensarbetet handlar om orkestermusiker tillika Instrumentallärare, och hur de ser på samspelet mellan yrkena. Arbetet har två vinklingar; hur musikern påverkas av läraren, och hur läraren påverkas av musikern. Jag har använt mig av kvalitativa intervjuer med sex informanter som alla jobbar både som stråkmusiker och pedagoger. De har olika bakgrund, och olika erfarenhet av undervisning. Som teoretisk bakgrund använder jag ett förhållningssätt där mästarläran, och läraren som coach står i centrum.

I mitt examensarbete har jag valt att undersöka de tankar som finns kring vem som spelar vilket instrument. Vilka ord, som har med utseende respektive personlighet att göra, förknippar studerande vid en svensk musikhögskola samt en svensk folkhögskola med de utvalda Instrumentalisterna; -klassisk tubaist, fiolspelande folkmusiker, klassisk tvärflöjtist, afrosångaren, afrotrummisen, klassisk pianist? Vilket kön, vilket utseende och vilken personlighet tänker de sig att respektive Instrumentalist har? Genom en enkätundersökning har jag försökt ta reda på detta. Jag delade ut enkäter till studerande vid en svensk musikhögskola samt till musikstuderande vid en svensk folkhögskola. Av 201 utdelade enkäter fick jag in 49 svar.

Denna studie syftar mot att undersöka om arbete med musikaliska förebilder kan utveckla musikundervisningen. Arbetet fokuserar på två delar, lärarens förebildande roll och andra musiker som förebild i form av andra medier till exempel cd-skivor samt att ta reda på hur elever upplever denna undervisning. Vi ville se vad aktiva musiklärare tycker om detta arbetssätt, där läraren vid sidan om sitt eget förebildande använder sig av andra medier, till exempel Internetsidan Youtube. Undersökningen utfördes genom en lektionsserie med efterföljande intervjuer med två musiklärare och de fyra deltagande eleverna. Lektionsserien ägde rum i samband med vår verksamhetsförlagda utbildning vårterminen 2008.

The purpose with this master thesis is to analyze how the Swedish County Administrative Board (Länsstyrelsen) acts in an environment that changes fast with more regional actors than ever before. There are also proposals regarding new public authorities and eventually a reduction of the Swedish County Administrative Board.By studying a report issued by the Board in December 2005 the aim is to find their intentions and actions for the future. By using three diverse theoretical concepts - the public organisation, the Instrumental perspective and two separate perspectives from new institutionalism - the expectation is that I will have the possibility to analyze the intentions of the organisation in many different ways.In this case study I also want to take into consideration the central discourses in the regional debate, shall we decentralize or shall we keep on having a strong state even in the future? What kind of regional policy does the Swedish County Administrative Board prefer?The result shows that the Swedish County Administrative Board struggles for a strong state even in the future, but it does not propose any huge changes. In many ways it seems like they act as they are supposed to - as an instrument for the government - but despite that it is obvious that the Swedish County Administrative Board tries to show that it has the traditions and knowledge.

This Master's thesis aims to discover, understand and interpret how,with what results, and with what settings adults reading are investigatedin a series of nine Master's theses, written at The Swedish School ofLibrary and Information Science at the University of Borås 2000-2010.This Master's thesis is a meta-study that operates with theoreticalconcepts such as discipline, sub-discipline, research field,interdisciplinarity and with a qualitative research method calledanalytic induction. The results show that LIS - reader studies illustratevaried knowledge about adults reading that investigates with two mainapproaches - a general and a specific one - but with a common interestin two main categories: reading circumstances and reading effects andvalues. LIS ? reader studies show an Instrumental perception of theborrowed theories for study of reading and their application and a lessepistemological justification of these in relation to LIS, as own researchfield. The problem area readers and reading is regarded withuncertainty as study topic in the LIS, and this attitude shows up, despitea depth theoretical awareness, a less intellectual self-awareness and amore pragmatic one..

This bachelor thesis examines the library as a public sphere in the notion of Jürgen Habermas? theory from 1962. The questions asked concerns how the public sphere is discussed in relation to Swedish public libraries today in our late modern society. The analyzed material consists of the Swedish Cultural Bill of 2009 and five qualitative interviews with librarians. The material is analyzed with two of the four social actions presented by the sociologist Maw Weber: value-rational and Instrumental.

The aim of this qualitative study was to examine bereaved individuals? experiences of support from their social networks and participation in support groups. The theoretical framework is based on theories about social support and parts of the attachment theory. Data were collected from four interviews and analysed by the study?s theoretical framework.

This thesis aims to develop a theory in the under researched field of international comparative cultural policy studies. lt does so by combining theories from the fields of political scienceand cultural studies, researching how and to what extent the concepts of culture of different states have an impact on the way cultural policies are constructed.The thesis uses this theoretical development in order to research a specific problem, namely the perceived possibility that Swedish and German cultural structures are slowly converging. Two recent official policy documents from each country are the objects of study. Through comparative idea analysis and with Michiel S. D Vries theories on decentralization, the thesis explains the convergence between the countries by differing cultural views between them.

Målet med detta examensarbete är att ersätta den tidigare lösningen av sensorfingret med andra komponenter, eller hitta en annan sensor med motsvarande funktion.Arbetet har begränsats av att ESAB vill ha ett mekaniskt finger för användarvänlighetens skull. Efter en förundersökning av olika typer av sensorer har vi valt att använda oss av trådtöjningsgivare som sensorer till det mekaniska sensorfingret. I och med detta val behövde vi även komma med ett teoretiskt förslag på en mekanisk upphängning av sensorfingret.Vi har byggt upp två separata Wheatstonebryggor med varsin instrumentförstärkare (INA125). Utsignalen från bryggorna är relativt liten och behövde förstärkas cirka 2000 gånger.Nollbalansering av bryggorna har skett manuellt med potentiometrar men vi har även gett ett förslag på en lösning där nollbalansering kan ske med ett enkelt knapptryck. Knappen är placerad på upphängningen på ett sådant sätt att man inte kan trycka oavsiktligt på knappen.Resultatet av arbetet är en uppkoppling på en experimentplatta samt förslag på hur upphängningen och sensorfingret designmässigt kan se ut.För vidare arbetsgång behövs en prototyp för att testa livslängden och ta reda på vilken känslighet som är mest optimal..

The aim of this study was twofold; firstly it sought to describe the human security situation of Roma IDPs and IDPs living in collective centers, secondly it tried to create an understanding for how the human security situation can affect IDPs capabilities to develop. The findings of the study were mainly based on a field study conducted in Belgrade, Serbia for two months. The results of the study were that IDPs in collective centers have a poor human security situation regarding basic income, employment, adequate housing and experienced personal security. Roma IDPs suffer from the same insecurities, but in addition also has poor human security in basic education and personal safety. Their stagnant human security situation proved to be the result of the inability to help IDPs by the actors involved in the relief work.

The aim of the study has been to find out children?s librarians? views on and management of media that contains topics with a controversial nature and also to find out how this affects the public library as a democratic institution. We have conducted the study by interviewing six children?s librarians. By using Vestheim?s terms value rationality and Instrumental rationality, we have been categorizing the answers from our informants and thus identified two different points of view.

The aim of this study was to examine young people?s experiences of participation within the intervention Contact Person. Three questions were asked concerning young people?s experience of participation, aspects that promoted/limited the young people?s experience and the significance they attached to the intervention. The findings in this study are based on phenomenological interviews with five teenagers within the intervention Contact Person.
