Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a versatile wireless technology usedworldwide. The fields of applications are many and its popularity constantlygrows due to smaller in size, better and less expensive components. RFID isused to identify, track or share information about an object using radio waves.This master thesis describes the process of designing and implementing ahandheld UHF RFID reader. The goal was to, based on a UHF RFID-chipdesign a fully functional, small in size and power efficient device. Amicrocontroller provides the user interface and is also used to control theRFID-chip and a Bluetooth device.

The Saami, a Nordic indigenous people scattered over four countries, has for centuries been regarded as parts of the national populations of the countries in which they live. During the 19th century saami demands for greater influence resulted en several changes, among them the founding of a Swedish Saami Council in 1993. The council became a popularly elected, representative institution with an agenda of its own, but also a public authority answerable to the government. The decision to attribute the council this twofold role was unusual and, from a certain point of view, even controversial: it makes it difficult to determine the location of the power to act in saami-related issues and the legitimacy to do so.This essay is about how the twofold role came into existence, what it leads to and how the seemingly contradictive duality is managed. It has an institutional approach with theories concerning institutions and etnicity as well as institutional change and handling of complicated and ambiguous demands.

Marknaden för smartphones har vuxit stort under de senaste åren och även utveckling av applikationer till dessa. Då utveckling av applikationer för smartphones skiljer sig från traditionell utveckling så passar inte traditionella utvecklingsprocesser för utveckling till smartphones på ett optimalt sätt. Denna studie undersöker mobilapplikationsutveckling med fokus på användbarhet. Då det råder brist på systemutvecklingsprocesser för mobilapplikationsutveckling så vill denna studie utvärdera ISO standarden ?ISO 9241-210 ? Användarcentrerad design för interaktiva system?.

Package design constitutes an important marketing and differentiation tool in an increasingly competitive food market, particularly in the category of daily consumer goods where the turnover rate is high and the purchases are based on self-service (Hine, 1997; Spethmann, 1994; Underwood, 1999). Media fragmentation undermines the traditional marketing tools and the demands for packaging are bigger than ever. A package must not only sell a product, but also tell, through design, how the product is used and express the values that the trademark owner wishes to convey to the end customer (Underwood, 1998). The understanding of the role of packaging as a marketing tool has increased, but the initiators inside the packaging industry in Sweden still think that the Swedish packaging industry is developing slowly. They often describe Swedish packages as homogeneous and unimaginative.

The project was carried out with SwedSafe AB, engaged in hearing and manufacture of earplugs. Since the company is a world leader in the sale of these products, it is important that they keep a higher level of quality of these products.Production of earplugs is currently a automated manufacturing process that is divided into four conveyor belts and one of the conveyor belts is what will be affected in the project. The belt affected during this process is exposed to various elements such as filling, closing, fermentation and extraction of products. Because the belt gets dirty, degraded products and the work environment is affected. To increase the quality of products and improve the working environment requires an automatic cleaning process, which collects dirt from the belt.The aim of the project is to design a machine that prevents the belt from becoming dirty, preserve molds clean and improve the working environment without disrupting production.

In motorsports competition, safety reasons require that the vehicle is equipped with some form of protective roll cage. The roll cage should withstand the forces involved in a collision to protect the driver and the co-driver from the vehicle body deformation. The roll cage also works to protect the vehicle from excessive deformations to more easily make any repairs afterwards. For the roll cage to be certified and approved for motorsports competition, it requires that the cage is built after one of the recommended options. One of those options is to design the roll cage like a cross-construction at the driver and co-driver doors.

På grund av bankernas roll i 2008 års finanskris har förtroendet för banker sjunkit världen över. För att stabilisera situationen så har den internationella bankregleringsorganisationen, Baselkommittén, börjat arbeta fram regler för bankerna att förhålla sig till. Däribland ett högre kapitalkrav. Något som garderar bankerna mot framtida kriser men som även ökar kostnaderna för bankerna. I förebyggande syfte för detta högre kapitalkrav har de fem intervjuade bankerna som består av Sveriges fyra storbanker, Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB och Swedbank, samt den helt statligt ägda banken SBAB genomfört begränsningar i sin verksamhet.

ABB är ett globalt företag med kontor och fabriker över hela världen och affärsenheten i Ludvika anses vara världscentrum för kraftöverföringsteknik. Enheten ABB Components i Ludvika har en avdelning som tillverkar kontrollskåp till transformatorer, denna produkt kallas för TEC. Produkten började utvecklas 1999 och har funnits tillgänglig på marknaden sedan 2002 i två olika modeller. Produktutvecklingen inom ABB ska ske effektivt och inom givna ramar för kvalitet, tid, kostnad och specifikationer. Det är även viktigt att hela företagets kompetens aktivt utnyttjas genom hela utvecklingsprocessen.

Dagens litteratur som rör hälsofrämjande arbete strålar idag av en positiv aura. Vi har genomvår utbildning läst mycket litteratur inom detta ämne och ställde oss till sist undrande om hälsofrämjande arbete verkligen är så bra som litteraturen beskriver. Vi var av uppfattningen att organisationer inte alltid inför hälsofrämjande arbete med, (eller enbart med) lönsamhets- eller hälsomotiv, vilket är det intrycket vi har fått från litteraturen angående hälsofrämjande arbete. Därför valde vi att vår kandidatuppsats skulle handla om motiven bakom hälsofrämjande arbete, eftersom vi ville ha en mer nyanserad bild som ser mer kritiskt på vinsterna och motiven bakom hälsofrämjande arbete. Syftet med uppsatsen är att genom ett kritisk synsätt få en djupare förståelse för hälsofrämjande arbete, bortom den förskönade bilden som visas i litteratur och media. Vi vill på detta vis undersöka vilka motiven bakom organisationers införande av hälsofrämjande arbete är och om eller hur motiven påverkar effekterna av hälsofrämjande arbete. Vi har gjort detta genom en enkätundersökning samt litteratur kring hälsofrämjande arbete och institutionell teori.

Detta examensarbete beskriver processen för framtagandet av en ny design för det befintliga schemaläggningssystemet för räddningstjänsten. Ett av problemen med att schemalägga för personalen inom räddningstjänsten är att det är flera faktorer som måste tas hänsyn till. Några av dessa faktorer är vilken station de arbetar på, personalens kompetens, att det ska finnas personal på stationerna och arbetsroller. Syftet med examensarbetet var att skapa en ny design som uppskattas av de som arbetar med systemet. För att uppnå detta var de som schemalägger med och påverkade designen av systemet tidigt i designprocessen.Detta examensarbete innefattar en litteraturstudie, en förstudie, en intervjustudie, en fokusgrupp och två användartester.

This is a thesis about design of young stands of trees. A big source of inspiration has been Västerskog and Tor Nitzelius Park in Alnarp which both consists of a structure of squares. I wanted to examine if this type of planting could be valuable from an aesthetic and recreational point of view. One problem today is that many people believe that we have to wait for decades for a planting to grow up so that we can enjoy the ?ready result?.

The euthropthication of the Baltic Sea is a threat that is beginning to be taken seriously by the governments concerned. In Sweden, regulations concerning the allowed nitrogen (N) concentration in the effluent water from wastewater treatment plants are being tightened up. The Rimbo wastewater treatment plant has been imposed to reduce the annual mean concentration of total N in the effluent water to levels below 15 mg l-1. A more and more common way to reduce the nitrogen level in wastewater is to let the water pass through a wetland. This study investigates the possibility to build this kind of wetland at the outlet of the Rimbo wastewater treatment plant.A prestudy of the topography, soil characteristics and groundwater flow indicates that the land area in question is well suited for the construction of a wetland.

The landscape is a great asset for Göteborg as a city and places in the landscape are much used by the public. This diploma work deals with the question of how nature in Göteborg can become more accessible and how a place in it can be supplemented with new landscape elements. It is a proposal for a new urban park at Björlanda peninsula in the western part of Hisingen, Göteborg, which today belongs to the Swedish Armed Forces and is a part of the Nature-2000 area "Nordre älvs estuarium". The reason for choosing this place is that it is the only area around the costal area in Göteborg that has not been built on and that it contains a very varied landscape. The proposal is presented as three different broschures, dated 10-20 years ahead: A map of a possible system of urban parks including a detail of such a park, Västra Hisingen (the western parts of Hisingen) The idea with a system of urban parks is to make the landscape generally more accessible and maybe open it for people that do not use it today. A broschure of the central area Välkommen, with my design proposal for an urban park at Björlanda peninsula The design aims to utilize the landscape elements water, mountains, vegetation and sky and to intensify the experience of them. SammanfattningDetta examensarbete är ett utformningsprojekt av en platsbyggd villa. Frågeställningen tillprojektet var hur man kan utforma en villa.Jag har undersökt vilka A-ritningar, K-ritningar samt statiska beräkningar som behövs för attproducera en platsbyggd villa.Resultatet visar färdiga ritningar till bygghandlingar vilket betyder enplans villa medattraktiv/öppen planlösning och en stark byggnadsstil med tydliga inflytanden av funkisstil.Detta tydliggörs genom pulpettaken, och fasaden som är delvis liggande panel, delvis vitputsad.Yta: 153 kvmAntal rum: 6, varav sovrum: 3.

Den här uppsatsen undersöker om etnisk komposition i gymnasieskolan påverkar skolprestationer. Frågeställningarna i uppsatsen är: Samvarierar kontextuella skillnader i skolprestationer med avseende på elevens etniska bakgrund, eller är skolprestationer knutna till selektion hos elever? Varierar kontextuell effekt för olika undergrupper såsom flickor och pojkar? Teorin utgår från socialt kapital och kontextuella effekter såsom epidemilogisk modell, kollektiv socialisation och institutionell modell. Datamaterialet är registerdata från Skolverket och metoden som används för analysen är multilevel analys. Resultaten visar att det finns en negativ kontextuell effekt att gå en skola med hög etnisk komposition.
