This thesis is of an historical nature and deals with two Institutions in Bosnia and Hercegovina: waqf and the Library of Gazi Husrev bay. These Institutions are placed in a societal context which makes it easier to understand their origins, development and decline. The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyze the history of the Library of Gazi Husrev bay and its specific characteristics as well as analyze the Institution of waqf in a societal context. The questions posed by this thesis are: What is waqf and its meaning? What are its benevolent as well as hostile periods? How did the Library of Gazi Husrev bay and its mission develop? The thesis is limited to waqf in its societal context.

In the past years the traditional donors of development assistance have been increasingly aware of changes in the donor landscape. This as emerging economies like China and India has undergone a transition from recieving aid to becoming emerging donors. By identifying and comparing ideas, beliefs and interests pursued using foreign aid between so called emerging and traditional donors, the greater purpose of this thesis is to take a closer look at the alleged changes in the world order. The starting point is Goldstein & Keohanes framework of the impact of ideas and interests in foreign policy and the one of K.J Holsti about Institutions as markers metrics of change. The results show that there is no vast difference in interests but a detectable difference in the ideas behind foreign aid.

Titel: Rockmusic preferences in the rock programme. Popular culture, music preferences and repertoire inside a teaching Institution. This paper raises some questions about the popular music that exists outside as well as inside Institutions. From the example of popular music and rockmusic the students of a music teacher education programme based on rock music are asked for their taste for music in a brief questionnaire. The answers are compared to those concerning the music they used to like before they entered the education as well as the music played on the ensemble lessons at the programme.

Undersökningen rör funktionsledarnas nya roll på Länsstyrelsen i Kronobergslän. Den nya rollen är ett utökat chefskap som är en del av en omorganisering. Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur det utökade chefskapet hos funktionsledarna påverkar deras, roll och arbetsgemenskap samt vilka effekter ett ledarskap längre ner i organisationen medför. Teorier kring roll, ledarskap, organisation och Institution har används. Metoden som använts är främst intervjuer.

The essay discusses how to look at a equality plan of a academic department experiences the, gender equality in general and how power is portrayed from a gender perspective in the academic department. Through the use of qualitative interviews and a short survey the results have shown that few of the staff members have knowledge about the equality plan and few are familiar with its contents. Furthermore results show that the academic department is run hierarchyilly and that both vertical and horizontal gender segregation exists.The climate at the academic department is characterized by the will to work with gender equality but so far there have only been few exercised or planned efforts to do so. The gap between theory and practise is wide, the will to be seen as an equal academic department concerning equality of men and women seems important. The conscious or unconscious strategy of covering up the real gender equality seems to be done by focusing on the numerical equality..

Syftet med studien var att undersöka studenters kost- och motionsvanor vid Högskolan Väst relaterat till kön och Institution. Studiens resultat baserades på 323 insamlade enkäter, relevant litteratur och vetenskapliga verk som avhandlingar, rapporter och artiklar. Resultatet av högskolestudenternas kost- och motionsvanor analyserades ur ett sociologiskt perspektiv. Studien visade skillnader mellan studenters kost- och motionsvanor i flera avseenden beroende av kön och Institution. Kvinnliga studenter på Högskolan Väst har i flera avseenden uppgett sig ha bättre kost- och motionsvanor än de manliga studenterna.

The purpose of this study was investigating the means which rule the social worker?s choice of Institution placing youths and how they match the youth?s individual need compared with the type of home. The questions were: Which significance has the characteristics of the youth and their family for the placing? Which significance has the characteristics of the Institution? Which significance has the social workers? way of working, investigation, theories, economy etc.? A qualitative way of interviewing has been used. Eight interviews were done; six with social welfare secretaries who place youths and two social workers who work with coun­selling and placement.

We have produced a process mapping and from there developed a document management plan for the research service at the Labour Movement Archives and Library (ARAB) in Stockholm, Sweden. The project was conducted during five weeks in the spring of 2011 at ARAB and the resulting classification structure and document plan has been formulated and presented to the staff at a seminar. We found that the Institution in some cases were suffering from an inadequate documentation in a number of the identified processes, and also in their records management and archiving. In this additional memorandum follows an analyzing discussion of activity-based document- and archive management, e-archives and process mapping. We have accordingly tried to standardize the process of research services and contribute to a more adequate document management within the Institution.

Studien behandlar ungdomar som av olika anledningar är eller känner sig övervakade och kontrollerade. På grund av särskilda regler och normer begränsas ungdomarnas handlingsutrymme. Vilka är då dessa ungdomar som berörs i studien? Den ena ungdomsgruppen är ungdomar som är placerade på Institution och den andra gruppen rör invandrarflickor i särskilt drabbade familjer. Att vistas i en viss instängd Institutionell sfär påverkar dessa ungdomar och deras liv på olika sätt.

This essay studies how and why large sports clubs from sports with a different degree of commerciality interact with their Institutional surroundings in the way that they do. It compares two large Stockholm-based table tennis clubs, Ängby SK and Spårvägens BTK, with a large Stockholm-based football club, AIK Fotboll. In order to get proper data, a number of key persons within the organisations were exploratively interviewed using open and semi-structured questions, together with study of literature and other sources related to the subject. One of the key findings was that the non-profit table tennis clubs, who were expected to resemble the Institution association closely, were subject to company-ization, and thus acted a lot more like the Institution company than expected. The other key finding was that the football club, although driven partially like a public limited company, in many aspects placed a greater value on cultural capital than on economic capital..

This study is an Institutional analysis of the firm both as it is theoretically conceptualized and how it takes shape and changes. The role of power relations between manage¬ment and employees is especially examined with the aim of evaluating pos¬sible connections between the firm as an Institution and power relations within it. Based on a comparison of two cases (two selected periods of the same organization) it asks ?How closely does each case match the conceptual characteristics of the firm??; ?What are the power relations between management and employees in each case??; and finally ?What factors account for the resulting differences??. It is found that there is a negative correlation between employee power and proximity to the firm as a concept.

The focus of this study has been to plumb social workers experiences regarding their work methods in two Institutions regarding unaccompanied children through a perspective of gender. In this study, four semi-structured qualitative interviews has been contrived in purpose to gather in material which has been presented in five themes to ease an analyse focusing of gender. In all the interviews both authors participated with one in charge and one taking notes. One of the main focuses has been the relations between both social workers and their clients and between colleges in the Institutions. The other main focus has been the activities, both planed and spontaneous, which the clients been offered, for example football, bowling and boxing.

The European Union's long-term budget negotiations during the summer of 2005 were obstructed from being successful due to a quite fierceful debate about the future guidelines of the Common Agricultural Policy. A quarrel about money and who gets what, was the common answer as to why it took the European leaders six months to accept the budget, and quite rightfully. This essay, however, goes beneath those explanations and tries to see what other reasons there might be for such a phenomena.With a new Institutionalistic approach this study seeks to see what underlying reasons for why an Institution such as CAP is so resistant to change. With special attention to the new historical Institutionalism and the rational choice Institutionalism the study successfully shows that though the front laying reasons to the problems with the budget might have been economical, several other factors also affected the outcome of the budget negotiations.Structures, national identity and decisions taken when outlining the Common Agricultural Policy in the 1960's still affect the European union, its members and foremost of all, the Policy/Institution itself..

The aim of this paper is to clarify the up till now somewhat shady definition of legitimacy, and to investigate what happens to this concept when it is transferred from the boundaries of the nation state to the realms of the international arena. By creating a model of legitimacy from which an Institution can be evaluated, the purpose of this paper is to investigate what legitimacy is and how important it is for the actors within the international society. The next step involves evaluating what makes the UN a legitimate Institution and how its foundation is affected by the blatant disregard of its authority by one of its? most influential members.The theoretical framework consists of a summary of what contemporary analysts? views of legitimacy are, which I have incorporated into my own Institutional model of legitimacy. The role of Institutions is central to all aspects of this study.

The aim of this master thesis?s is to examine what functions writing activities can have in the public library. Some public libraries offer their visitors writing activities, for example courses and camps. The public library is an Institution with a particular identity, with special norms and properties which participants within the Institution construct and reproduce. The main question of this thesis is to investigate how writing activities can be a part of the public library?s Institutional identity and what functions writing activities in the public library can have.
