Flooding events are no longer rare, floods occur all over the world. Accordingly, it is vital for the society and different authorities to work with flood mapping. To meet the goal of Uppsala kommun to map the risks of floods in Uppsala län, a map of the different areas around Funboån which are inside the area of risk for flooding have been developed.In the work, cross sections and the water flow have been measured. Moreover, an echo-sounding have been carried out in Funboån to map the bottom topography. From the bottom map and laser scanned data covering the study area, a terrain model was created.

This study focus on how physical and virtual meeting places may promote collaboration between firms and academia for the development of innovations. A case study was conducted on a meeting place that aims to support collaboration for the development of innovations in eHealth between different actors in the Linnaeus region. Data was collected through 6 interviews, whereas 3 with scientists and 3 with entrepreneurs. The data was analyzed based on a theoretical framework based on different perspectives on collaboration and networks, meetings and interaction and, physical and virtual meeting places.The results show that the purpose for collaboration is to be included in a network with other actors in the same area, gain increased knowledge of the subject area and to acquire new external contacts. Furthermore, in order to support collaboration, physical meeting places have to organize effective and interesting meetings.

SyfteSyftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur fysiska och psykiska variabler skiljer sig hos löparvana män, vid löpning på löpband i samband med respektive utan musik.- Hur skiljer sig upplevd ansträngning under löpning med, respektive utan musik?- Vilka skillnader finns i laktat, laktattrösklar och hjärtfrekvens under löpning med, respektive utan musik?- Vilken skillnad finns mellan situationsspecifikt självförtroende innan löpning med musik samt situationsspecifikt självförtroende innan löpning utan musik?Hypotes: Fysiska och psykiska variabler skiljer sig vid löpning med, respektive utan musik.MetodI denna experimentella studie testades nio män i åldrarna 18-30 år i ett laktattröskeltest på löpband med, respektive utan musik. De sprang sex till sju stegrande intensiteter/nivåer. Under testerna undersöktes laktat, hjärtfrekvens och upplevd ansträngning. Ansträngingen skattades efter borgskalan.

Bevekelsegrunden till psykopati är än idag en omdebatterat ämne. Miljöpåverkan, biologiska faktorer eller en förening mellan dessa två faktorer? Meningarna mellan forskare och teorietiker går än idag isär. Denna studie tar upp en helt ny och fortfarande obeprövad hypotes om att spegelceller som har förmågan att skapa resonans mellan människor, kan ligga till grund för psykopatins uppkomst. Vi har studier gjorda på personer med autism och autismspektrumstörning, där resultatet pekar på att störningarna beror på en defekt i speglingssystemet.

Med tankar från pedagogen Montessori och filosoferna Platon och Baudrillard har detta arbete behandlat frågor om datorn och dess betydelse för en grafiker. Frågeställningen formulerades efter hand och lydde tillslut: ?Hur kan materia te sig i digital form?? Forskningen resulterade i en hypotes för hur digital materia skulle födas i datorn: genom att blanda två uppsättningar av data, såsom två genuppsättningar tillsammans skapar en ny organism. Under produktionen utvecklades därmed en metod för hur en grafiker ska kunna skapa tillsammans med en dator. Syftet är att ge andra grafiker ett nytt sätt att se på digital grafik.

Vårt syfte med detta examensarbete var att undersöka vad ledningen på ett antal friskolor på grundskolenivå har för åsikt om den eventuellt nya skollagen avseende den nya skollagen. Det vi också ville ha mer kunskap om är vad de har för inställning till studie- och yrkesvägledning och vad det är som gör att en del friskolor väljer att inte anställa en utbildad studie- och yrkesvägledare. I det eventuellt nya skollagsförslaget angående studie- och yrkesvägledning står det att elever ska ha tillgång till sådan kompetens att deras behov av vägledning tillgodoses. Informanterna i vårt examensarbete är eniga om att tillgång till sådan kompentens är det samma som en utbildad studie- och yrkesvägledare. Våra informanter anser att det är mycket viktigt med vägledning samt att studie- och yrkesvägeldaren har relevant utbildning.Vi har valt att göra en kvalitativ undersökning för att få ett större djup i vårt resultat.

The present study deals with the scope of action available to a social worker when analyzing, assessing and proposing measures regarding young persons experiencing social problems. The interest in the subject area emanates from the fact that the number of youth placed in different forms of round the clock out-of-home care in Sweden increases, whereas research in the subject shows that such placement gives few positive results and sometimes even has negative consequences for their development.The study investigates how the preconditions of the social worker influence their scope of possible action, in particular as regards their place of work, the situation of the individual dealt with, and the profession itself being one based both on scientific evidence and knowledge gained by experience. Lipsky?s theory on ?street-level bureaucracy? and Hasenfelds theory on human servicing organizations form the theoretical framework of the present study. The empirical input comes from interviews with focus groups of active social workers.The analysis of the interviews shows that social workers generally feel that they have a broad scope of action as far as the regulatory framework and office management are concerned.

This report is presenting an approach that can be used to measure water surfaces in difficult conditions caused by dense vegetation and lack of nearby known points. The objective was to make a contribution to necessary measures for adaptation against floods in Grums Municipality along the stream Karlbergsån, which may occur when persistent rain raises the level of the stream. Along the river there are low-lying areas prone to flooding. According to Grums Municipality, the stream may widen where the water level differences are large, to create a better flow path and to counteract flooding. Grums Municipality was also interested in survey stormwater discharges which may affect the water level in the stream.

En vanlig typ av skärm är LCD-skärmen som lyses upp med hjälp av lysrör innehållande kvicksilver. Kvicksilver är mycket farligt för både människor, miljö och djur. Därför måste det hanteras med stor försiktighet.

With Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 8, a new type of applications were introduced, Windows Store Apps. These applications must meet certain requirements in order to be uploaded to Windows own store for apps. There are also guidelines to follow. The requirements and guidelines include appearance and functionality, such as a common search function in the applications to contribute to a more unified experience. How does these requirements and guidelines influence developers? Whether the development of the Windows Store Apps gets more difficult, or perhaps even simpler, is studied and evaluated in this report.

In this report a system for Rapid Control Prototyping, RCP, is evaluated through animplementation of the motor control methods Field Oriented Control, FOC, and Space VectorPulse Width Modulation, SVPWM. The evaluation emphasizes on time-consumption andresource utilization on the used hardware and on usability for of software.A new mechatronic laboratory is under development at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. Itwill be used for both mechanical and motion control design using existing and new hardware.The control structure in a traditional robot system will be interfaced to a rapid prototypingsystem which should allow easy changes to algorithms at different levels in the system.The system designated for this project comes from National Instruments and constitutesLabVIEW Real-time and FPGA module as the software tools. The hardware is a NI Single-Board RIO (Reconfigurable Input Output), sbRIO, development board including a Field-Programmable Gate Array, FPGA, from Xilinx and a microprocessor from FreescaleSemiconductor. Graphical programming is performed in the LabVIEW environment, andthrough Xilinx tools the LabVIEW FPGA code is compiled to VHDL code.A pre-study was carried out to clarify the concept of RCP and investigate different systems forRCP and their traits.

The company System Andersson is developing systems for controlling materials and production in industries. They want to add a new service, where parts of those systems are accessible through cell phones.In this paper we are investigating which technology are best suited for this kind of application. And then we describe how we are developing a prototype fort this application, based upon that technology. After investigating technologies such as Java ME, Microsoft Silverlight, and web applications we settled upon building the system as a web application, customized for a mobile environment.To build a web page which is readable by many different cell phones we use the markup-languages which are developed for cell phones. We put much effort in reading about the standards and recommendations for the mobile web, produced by the organizations W3C and OMA.

Denna uppsats syftar till att studera hur könslönegapet, med kontroll för sedvanliga humankapitalvariabler samt sektortillhörighet, påverkas av matchningsprocessen på den svenska arbetsmarknaden. Detta har gjorts med hjälp av linjär regression och metoden minstakvadratskattningen, även kallad OLS (ordinary least squares). Den data som ligger till grund för undersökningen är tvärsnittsdata från Levnadsnivåundersökningen år 2010. Det teoretiska ramverk som studien tar avstamp i är den klassiska humankapitalteorin vars antagande är att utbildning är en investering för individen som höjer dennes produktivitet och därigenom leder till en högre framtida lön. Dock har tidigare forskning visat att utbildningens avkastning står i relation till arbetets utbildningskrav, där en överutbildad person får avsevärt lägre avkastning för de år som dennes utbildning överskrider arbetskravet i jämförelse med en rätt matchad person.

SammanfattningMedieämnets korta historia som skolämne och dess splittrade karaktär gör att det finns en avsaknad av nedtecknad forskning kring utarbetade arbetssätt och arbetsformer. Detta gör det svårt för lärare och speciellt nya lärare som inte har en bakgrund inom Mediebranschen i utformningen av undervisningen. Förut fanns det mycket tydligare instruktioner i styrdokument riktade till skolan, men i och med nya pedagogiska synsätt är det kanske främst läromedlen som nyblivna lärare kan vända sig till för att få hjälp när det gäller utformandet av undervisning.Denna studie syftar därför till att undersöka vilka arbetssätt och arbetsformer som tar sig uttryck och erbjuds medieämnet i ett läromedel riktat till gymnasiets medieprograms karaktärskurser. I studien har jag kvantitativt studerat sex stycken av tolv böcker som ingår i läromedelsserien ?Medieboken? genom att räkna förekomsten av ord som sedan fått bilda kategorier för olika arbetssätt.

This exam paper has been a collaboration between the writers and SYSteam Utvecklingspartner in Huskvarna. The assignment was about finding a need for a mobile application, making a requirement specification document with design documents and parallel to this constructing a prototype. The assignment is summarized in the following questions:? How can companies in the forest industry benefit from mobile information technology?? How can a user centered perspective be used in the process of making the requirement specification document and the design documents?? How do guidelines for usability apply to a mobile application?Three visits to companies in the forest industry were made to find a need for mobile information technology solutions. After a small analysis of the different companies? problems and conditions the decision was to use Tenhults Impregneringsverk AB in the case study.We used the FA/SIM method in our job of finding the organization needs for change and the principles of User Centered Design in the work of constructing a prototype.The result of our work is a requirement specification with design documents and a prototype.
