Konsten att berätta historier med bilder och illustrationer är något som har funnits i flera tusen år. Detta kandidatarbete undersöker ämnet illustrerad narrativ och redogör olika aspekter och principer som är avgörande för att man ska kunna förmedla ett budskap med hjälp av illustrationer. Idag förknippas illustrerad narrativ framför allt med serietidningar, bilderböcker och grafiska romaner som berättar en narration i form av en serie av bilder. Under den teoretiska delen av arbetet har jag först gått igenom illustrerat narrativs historia och sedan redovisat principer för det moderna illustrerat narrativet. Jag har också forskat kring bildens kommunikativa värde och samspelet mellan bild och text.

This essay, Jacobsberg ? a Landscape Garden and a Cemetery is a documentation and a historical analyze where I?ve been focusing on the development of the landscape garden in Sweden in relation to a garden called Jacobsberg. The garden was built close to Visby on Gotland in the early 1800s by the assessor Jacob Dubbe, but has since been almost forgotten. My survey aims to depict the circumstances surrounding the creation of Jacobsberg. In what purpose was it built? I?ve also been examine the historical context of the garden?s origins with the intention to define and confirm its architectural style.The essay comprises two major parts, where the first part deals with the history behind Jacob Dubbe and Jacobsberg, and contains an illustration of the assessor?s life and of the garden?s original structure and shape.

Enligt statistik från The Standish Group?s artikel Extreme Chaos (2001) tenderar IT-projekten att oftare få problem med tid, kostnad och kvalité aspekten i jämförelse med andra typer av projekt. I vår uppsats vill vi försöka förstå vad det är som skiljer IT-projekt i jämförelse med andra projekt. Kan det exempelvis vara så att man använder sig av fel projektledningsmodell? I denna studie har vi jämfört hur projekt utförts i byggbranschen respektive IT-branschen.

This thesis examines the use of history, historical narratives and the relation to Venezuelan historical consciousness in Libro Rojo, a publication of The Unified Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). It consists of four parts: an introduction, a declaration of principles, statutes and finally what is called the programmatical bases (bases programaticas) of the party.A starting point for this thesis is that this is an under prioritized area of research about the Bolivarian revolution in Venezuela. It aims to show the centrality of history in these fundamental documents of the biggest left-wing party in Latin America.The thesis finds that symbolically charged historical figures ? mainly national icons of Venezuela´s struggle for national liberation - are mobilized to back up contemporary aspirations and influence public perception of what kind of future is possible and desirable. Libro Rojo structures the relationship between past, present and future in order to influence historical consciousness.It also finds that Libro Rojo constructs a vision of socialism which aims to show that the ideas and actions of Venezuela´s symbolically charged historical figures are compatible with the ideas of 19th and 20th century western Marxism.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att ta reda på vilken funktion förtroende har och hur man ser på risker i det moderna, individualiserade samhället. Uppsatsen består huvudsakligen av en litteraturstudie, men innehåller även en liten empirisk undersökning i form av en enkät. Enkäten har delats ut hos studenter inom ekonomi och naturinriktade ämnen på Karlstads universitet. Enkäten är av explorativ art och resultatet av denna är en illustration av hur det kan se ut i verkligheten. Syftet med enkäten var att ta reda på om det fanns en differentierad syn på risk beroende av den teoretiska grund de studerande har vilket även resultatet visade påAv litteraturstudien framgår det att förtroende är en ytterst viktig funktion i samhället som är avgörande för mänskligt liv och den ekonomiska utvecklingen.

Det övergripande syftet med denna masteruppsats är att skildra och analysera processen som följer efter det att äldre, över 65 år, överklagat ett avslaget socialnämndsbeslut till förvaltningsrätten.För att besvara syftet har uppsatsen brutits ner i två delsyftet. Det första delsyftet är att undersöka vilka äldre det är som överklagar och om makrofaktorerna ålder, kön och etnicitet påverkar förvaltningsrättens beslut gällande bifall eller avslag av ett överklagande. Det andra delsyftet är att illustrera olika aspekter som innefattas av den verkställighetsprocess som socialnämnden utför då en dom fått bifall i förvaltningsrätten.Det första delsyftet besvaras genom att göra en innehållsanalys med både kvantitativa och kvalitativa inslag av de 49 domar som tagits under en sexmånadersperiod i sammanlagt 15 kommuner i Västra Götalands län. Det andra delsyftet besvaras genom en fallstudie, där semistrukturerade intervjuer utförts med de inblandade aktörerna. Intervjuerna utfördes vid två olika tillfällen för att på så sätt kunna fånga eventuella förändringar i dynamiken mellan aktörerna under tidens gång.Uppsatsens resultat visar på att den absoluta majoriteten av överklaganden gällde beslut där socialnämnden avslagit ansökan om särskilt boende.

Älvdalens Savings Forest was formed in the late 1800's. During this time the country was conducting the first major land reform in Sweden, namely the redistribution of arable land through government action. In Älvdalen people saw an opportunity to form Savings Forest, that is jointly owned forests, where everyone would get part of the proceeds. The yield in the first place would cover were costs to manage and monitor the forest and to the measures to ensure regrowth and improve the forests. You could also use the proceeds to develop the area and make it easier for the population to manage their forest. In early summer, a survey was sent to all the members of Älvdalens Savings Forest.

Jag har i min undersökning uppmärksammat den dolda konsten som alltid finns tillgänglig i vårt allmänna stadsrum. Utifrån tre platsbestämda offentliga konstverk behandlar denna uppsats frågeställningen, Hur används stadens offentliga konst av barn och unga i tre bostadsområden? Syftet med uppsatsen är att genom fältstudier undersöka hur konstverk i bostadsområden används av de barn och unga som bor där. De konstverk uppsatsen ställer i centrum har skilda egenskaper, tillkomst syften och estetiska utseenden. De är alla belägna i Stockholms ytterområden.

Interpret, concretize and set grades - Is it that simple? A study of similarities and differences in local grading criteria in music. The purpose of this study is to examine similarities and differences in local grading criteria in music at schools in a larger municipality in the south of Sweden. The research question is: How have schools interpreted national grading criteria locally and how do music teachers look upon the grading procedure? This study is based on an analysis of the grading criteria at ten schools.

Undersökningar har visat att många elever har bristfälliga kunskaper i bråkräkning när de lämnar grundskolan. Eleverna har särskilt stora problem med att kunna utföra korrekta multiplikationer och divisioner med bråk inblandat. Med bakgrund av detta har jag intresserat mig för hur läroböckerna hanterar dessa frågor. Jag har därför genomfört en läromedelsanalys av två olika läroboksserier som är aktuella i undervisningen på två högstadieskolor i Karlstad.Dessa två läroboksserier är Matte Direkt år 7-9 och Matematikboken XYZ. Jag har beskrivit och analyserat de relevanta avsnitten ur instrumentella och relationella aspekter, samt även gjort en jämförelse med Margareta Löwings förslag på metod att arbeta med bråk.

The purpose of this study has been to investigate advantages and problems with distributionsystem metering in substations. This report is a study in cooperation with Göteborg Energi.The analyses in this report are made for GENAB, a subsidiary company of Göteborg Energi.To analyse advantages and problems in advance is interesting information for GENAB. Theresult of the report could be based upon whether installation of metering in distributionsubstations will be implemented and in that case which kind of measurement that is relevant.The most relevant and strategic place to implement measurement is at the distributionsubstations on the secondary side (400V), this is due to the placement of the currenttransformers. The measurements in this study involve current, voltage, power, power factor,temperature, energy and power quality.Measuring instruments that are relevant to implement are intended to measure current,voltage, power, power factor, energy and, possibly, power quality in the same measuring unit.It is desirable to have a measuring instrument that measures both energy and power qualitybut since it is most often a cost question, it can be established that energy meters have a lowercost.Metering in distribution substations gives a better illustration of the power network. Thisresults in many advantages for GENAB.

To the sewer systems households, industries and other activities are connected. The wastewater is collected at treatment plants where a nutritious sludge is produced. The sludge does not only contain nutrients, but also hazardous substances originating from different activities in society. To reduce the flow of hazardous substances to treatment plants and to create a sustainable recycling of plant nutrients the Swedish Water & Wastewater Association has developed the certificate system REVAQ. This certificate requires a good quality of the sludge but also that the treatment plants maps the origin of the unwanted substances.

A film can attract all kinds of emotions and moods of the audience through its audiovisual communications and cinematic expression, in which music plays a significant role in both understanding and interpretation of film content.It is interesting to explore the musical significance and the emotional aspect of the film out of a media and communications perspective and visual communications perspective because it?s a subject that belongs to the communications of scientific discipline as film is a media text which is working both as communicative and as audio-visual medium with its expressive aspects.The purpose of this bachelor?s paper is to increase and deepen the understanding of music's function and significant role in context with its reinforcing sense of visual expression in film. More specifically, it aims to explore the musical value of the expressive aspect of the media text in form of film musical Les Misérables (2012), which has been transmedialised from the novel of the same name, referring to the sound, music and song in relation to the film's visual expression.The research questions are at the core of the essay study: "how is music used to reinforce the cinematic visual expression?" and "how can music signify the narrative and highlight the emotional aspect of the film?" The theoretical framework is based on some of the key scholars assumptions such as Michel Chion (1994) and Claudia Gorbman (1987), who share the same theoretical views that the soundtrack seems powerful when it expresses its participation in a scene?s emotional moods as the music follows the scene?s rhythm, the image?s flow and contributes emotional and musical codes of emotions and expressions. According to Chion sound and image interact together to tell a story where sound enrich the image with expressive and informative values.
