The newspaper industry changes with the society. New trends and developments affect how layout and design are perceived. Therefore it is important for the survival of a news­paper to catch up with trends and retain contemporaneity. This demands that a daily paper frequently updates its appearance and sometimes even redesign the whole newspaper. Folkbladet, a newspaper in Norrköping, is currently in need of a new layout. The employees often deviate from the graphic guidelines that exist at the company today, due to that it doesn?t feel contemporary, but also because they don?t appreciate the appearance as it is today. This thesis is based on a study of the layout of Folkbladet and analyse: which tools can be used to create a distinct identity regarding layout, which tools you can use to create a clear structure and readability in a newspaper, and how Folkbladet can make use of these tools. To find out about the company?s situation today and their identity, interviews have been made with employees.

ABSTRACTAbout 17% of all deliveries in Akademiska Sjukhuset end with caesarean section. The purpose of the survey was to study parental pairs experience to undergo a caesarean section and experience of information about surgery. The aim was also to see if there were differences between those undergoing a planned or an emergency caesarean section, as well as differences between the birthing women and their partners. 100 couples participated in the study and answered a questionnaire 1-3 days after they had undergone surgery. The result showed that the vast majority of parental pairs were satisfied with the information they received before the caesarean section.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att undersöka hur patienter med prostatacancer uppfattade den givna informationen om sin sjukdom och behandlingen av den. Författarna har utgått från Willman m fl (2006) evidensbaserade metod. De vetenskapliga artiklarna som legat till grund för studien granskades i protokoll av Carlsson & Eiman m fl (2003), modifierade av författarna. Studien innefattar tolv vetenskapliga artiklar. Författarna kom i resultatet fram till tre olika temaområden: informationsmaterial och hjälpmedel, informatörer och stödgivare samt behov av information.

Previous research has shown that the market reacts on stock recommendations. As the Internet has made financial information more available and cheaper to assess one could believe that the market reflects more available information today. If this is true the market will react less on recommendation made by journalists, which generally consists of processed public information. The stock market should thus be more efficient according to the efficient market hypothesis. This study examines initially if we can conclude that stock recommendations made by journalists generate returns above the expected returns, hence abnormal returns.

In Eskilstuna and Sweden in general the level of reuse of surplus material containing soils and rocks from excavation is low. In this report the potential for increasing the reuse of excavated material in Eskilstuna by using a web-based earth information database has been examined. The purpose of a web-based earth information database is to connect those who have surplus material with those who need material for a fast and simple transaction. The intention is to give Eskilstuna a more environmentally and economically efficient handling of surplus material by increasing the level of reuse and thereby reducing the amount of surplus material that is wasted and emissions given off to the atmosphere during transportation. The potential has been examined in two different ways, by tracing information about a number of projects to see if excavated material driven to the dump could have been used in another project and by interviewing eight of the work leaders active in Eskilstuna.

Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är en stor sjukdom och varje år insjuknar 7000 personer. Då 99 procent av dessa är kvinnor, uppmärksammas inte de fall där män drabbas. I sin tur leder det till ett outforskat område, sen diagnostik och sämre överlevnadsprognos.Syfte: Beskriva mäns upplevelse av att ha bröstcancer.Metod: Författarna har valt att göra en litteraturstudie baserad på sex original artiklar med kvalitativ ansats, granskade efter Willman, Stoltz och Bahtsevane (2011) kriterier. Den teoretiska referensramen var en ansats utifrån ett livsvärldsperspektiv.Resultat: I studien framkom två kategorier och fem subkategorier utifrån Granheim & Lundmans (2004) innehållsanalys. Kategorierna var: Upplevelse av att ha bröstcancer, Upplevelse av delaktighet.

Detta arbete undersöker huruvida sättet information i spel presenteras på, kan påverka en individs inlärning. Undersökningen fokuserar på två olika teorier inom inlärning, den ena är behaviorismen och den andra är lärandet som en social process eller sociokultur som den också kan kallas. Två versioner av ett spel har skapats där respektive lärandeteori har använts. Undersökningen har därefter gjorts på två urvalsgrupper som fått spela igenom spelen för att sedan svara på kunskapsfrågor. Resultatet från de två urvalsgrupperna var spridda, där den yngre målgruppen gynnades mer av ett behavioristiskt lärande, medan den äldre gruppen gynnades mer av det sociokulturella.

Public opinion can be shaped as well as transformed in a number of ways. Government authorities occasionally make use of public information campaigns to educate and steer the public. In this thesis the balance between public and private, the individual and the society is analysed in terms of dimensions of individualism and communitarianism. These dissimilar theories on how the society ought to be constructed can be used when analysing many different policy areas, however, they also pinpoint the controversies seen in the public debate regarding Swedish information policy. Based on this analysis an empirical study identifies what kind of knowledge the state wants the citizens to possess and public information campaigns can be problematic.

Our interest lies in more efficient and advanced transportation and terminals, as globalization and new trends require effective solutions.The aim of our work is to explain the need for information technology applications in road haulage and associated terminal operations. AbstractThis thesis is the final part of the Innovation and Design Engineering Programme (180 ECTS credits)at the Faculty of Health, Nature and Engineering Science at Karlstad University. The extent of thisthesis is 22.5 ECTS credits and has been performed independently by Hannes Jernberg during thespring of 2013. Metso Paper Karlstad AB is the task maker of this project, and Arvid Johansson is thecompany Representative. Metso Paper Karlstad AB is one of the world leading developer andmanufacturer of tissue paper machines.In the current situation, the company has developed and patented a power management systembased on a Cross Flow Turbine. The current construction is limited to a paper width of 2.9 meters.The company wants to take advantage of all the opportunities provided by the patents, to develop aturbine solution paper machine with a paper width that is wider than 5.5 meters, and give the abilityto manufacture paper for lower energy consumption which is an important part of the production asit is very energy intensive.Problems arise with the increasing length of the turbine, ultimately resulting in that the deflectionbecomes too big and that the momentums, due to the increased torque the turbine blades breaks.By applying the design process, this work has resulted in a number of potential solutions to theproblem.

This paper deals with the use of Internet at Swedish public libraries. The author asks whether public libraries should or should not limit access to information available on the Internet. Starting from the American discussion, concerning Internet at public libraries, the author shows the Swedish attitudes. The paper demonstrates that many Swedish public libraries have adopted rules forbidding retrieval of certain kinds of information, such as hard-core pornography and racist propaganda. The persons in charge of such actions claim that public libraries should provide high-quality educational literature and should not spread mass-produced, provocative information.

Att känna hopp när en närstående är sjuk kan upplevas som en berg och dalbana. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva närståendes upplevelse av hopp när en person drabbas av sjukdom. Litteraturstudien är baserad på tjugotre vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserats med en manifest kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: Hopp påverkas av information, Andlighet och alternativa metoder ger en känsla av hopp, Relationer med andra människor ger hopp och Hopp är under ständig förändring. Det framkom att information och kunskap om sjukdomen bidrog till att närstående kände hopp, men att information inte alltid gavs ut rätt eller att det uteblev helt..

Sufficient and accurate search support is a crucial factor for successful information searching on web sites. This thesis evaluates the search support on the second version of the web site studera.nu with particular focus on how the web site meets up to criteria formulated on the basis of theories from research in information seeking and information searching. The evaluation is a preliminary investigation that may serve as a basis for a future more comprehensive evaluation. The four major questions for my thesis have been: 1. Bakgrund:I Sverige inbjuds alla kvinnor i åldern 40 till 74 år regelbundet till mammografi som hälsokontroll. Undersökningen är frivillig och syftet är att minska dödligheten i bröstcancer. För att kvinnor ska kunna fatta ett välgrundat beslut om att medverka vid mammografi som hälsokontroll eller inte, bör informationen vara relevant och sanningsenlig. Evidensbaserad information som beskriver både för- och nackdelar med mammografi som hälsokontroll är därför av stor vikt. Syftet:Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka innehållet i den information som skickas till kvinnor i Sverige i samband med kallelsen till mammografi som hälsokontroll.

Mycket resurser läggs idag ner för att uppmuntra till ett hållbart agerande, men det är långt ifrån bra och på många områden finns brister. Inom turismnäringen har resenärer inte alltid tillräckligt med kunskap om hållbart resande. Informationsspridning är därför viktigt och researrangörer är en grupp som kan påverka resenärerna då de har en direktkontakt med dem. Syftet med detta arbete är därför att utreda på vilka sätt information om hållbart resande lyfts fram via researrangörerna Apollo, Ving, Fritidsresor samt Solresors hemsidor. Syftet är även att se hur väl denna information stämmer överens med Schyst Resandes rekommendationer för researrangörer.
