Teknologistudenter och informationshantering en studie om informationskompetens vid Linköpings Tekniska högskola influerad av grounded theory

The main purpose of this study is to investigate and understand how technology students handle information especially when they are working with their Masters thesis. A further purpose is to examine how technology students use library resources of the Linköping University. The research method used is grounded theory, where description of the method is an integral part of the study. Twelve qualitative interviews were made with newly qualified graduates from the engineering programs of Linköping Institute of Technology. The respondents were divided into two groups, A and B, with six in each group.

Informationskompetensen i användarundervisningen

This master thesis investigates the user education. Christine Bruce has presented a theory of information literacy in her research which has resulted in seven different aspects of information literacy. In this study I wanted to investigate what aspects there were and what they looked like in a practical educational situation. The methods used for this study were observation and a questionnaire. I analysed the observations by using Bruces aspects of information literacy to group the observed activities into the different aspects.

With the increased significance of Information Technology (IT) in today?s society the term ?electronic democracy? (e-democracy) has gained much importance within the democracy theory. Naturally, there are several competing views on how the technology should be used for democratic purpose. One aspect of this is the somewhat revitalized claim for direct democracy in accordance with the hypothetical opportunity to finally realize it as a democratic system. The ideal of direct democracy combined with the almost total credence in the potential of technology constitute the idea of a ?push-button democracy?.

Datoranvändning inom förskolan : Ett lärtillfälle eller tidsfördriv?

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to see how technology is presented in different fictional picture books that are available in preschool. Six fictional picture books that have connection to technology in picture and text have been analysed. In order to show how technology can be made visible in fictional picture books, the relation between picture and text has been analysed through a technology perspective. Furthermore, the pictures and the texts have been analysed separately in order to show what they show respectively in terms of technology. The fictional picture book has a potential to be a basis for making technology visible in preschool, which is a step in a new direction.

Abstract The technology has made it possible for you as a train traveller to be available in other places than stations and on the train. You now have the possibility to communicate by the phone or through the Internet to get information about the train you want to take. Development in mobile technology gives us new possibilities to communication. We want to find out whatever SMS would be a suitable approach to inform passengers about delays. The problem formulation is ?If the technology is available to inform the passengers about delays in an more effective way than today, then why not use it? The ?Kustpilen? that operates in Blekinge and Skåne is the case for our study.

IKT som pedagogiskt verktyg : - en studie om lärares användning av IKT i undervisningen

 The purpose of this study is to investigate the attitude to and experience of information and communication technology (ICT) in teachers teaching and what motivates them. The study is qualitative and its research material is based on interviews. There are eight interviews and they where carried out at one school with a stated IT profile and at another school without a stated IT profile. The two schools are located in different municipalities, but both are secondary schools. The result shows that there are differences in attitude between the two schools. The school with a stated IT profile seems to have a more open mind of using ICT when teaching, but both schools sees the lack of availability as one of the main hindrance for using it. None of the participating teachers saw themselves as controlled to use ICT in their teaching.

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) -en studie om upplevelser av införandet

Dagens samhälle går ifrån att vara industrisamhälle till att vara ett tjänste och servicesamhälle. Så gör även företagens IT-avdelningar som går från att erhålla produkter till att erbjuda tjänster. Många verksamheter har anammat ramverket ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) för att genomföra denna förändringsprocess och börja tänka och arbeta med tjänster istället för produkter. Men ITIL är bara möjliggöraren för dettaså det är företaget och personalen själva som måste förändras. Hur upplevs detta införandet av ITIL? Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur arbetet med ITIL upplevs, hur ITIL är uppbyggt och visa på kopplingen mellan ITIL och systemförvaltning.

Dyslexi och Likvärdighet : Finns det en genväg till en likvärdig utbildning?

The purpose of this paper is to find out if technology within pedagogy can help pupils with dyslexiaperform on the same level as their peers without using compensatory aid. Is it possible to replacethe compensatory aids with the technology in question? Can the same technology also be used tosupport other pupils as well and in turn removing the stigma of needing compensatory aid?To learn the answers to these questions I have done a qualitative text analysis. This analysis focuson technology in the form of podcasts and Web 2.0 based teaching platforms. The analysis alsofocus on pupils with dyslexia and what kind of help compensatory aids can be.

Naturvetenskap och teknik i samspel med IKT i förskolan

The main purpose of this study is to, in the educator?s point of view, try to find out how pre-schools approach science and technology along with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The survey was conducted based on qualitative interviews where two preschools participated, a total of seven teachers were interviewed. One of the preschools only has access to a computer, and the other preschool is able to use both computer and tablets in their preschool activities. The results of this show that the teacher?s thoughts about ICT are positive and that they consider it as an important part of their work and have many areas where it is useful.

During the last decades the evolution of Information Technology and the increasing ability to access information have been discussed in many ways. In the beginning the focus was on the technology but now the discussion is more and more about the use of information and how to develop knowledge out of it. There is an ongoing discussion about the difference between knowledge and information. The subject of this Master s thesis is to find out if and how the Swedish elementary school has written into its mission statements to help the pupils to become information literate. For this purpose I have examined literature about information literacy and pedagogic as well as legislation and other documents that control how the Swedish elementary schools work.

Genus och informationsteknik ? En studie av kön/genusrelationer bland bibliotekspersonal

The purpose of this study is to examine sex/gender relations amongst staff in public libraries who have taken part in projects related to Information Technology. This is done through e-mail surveys and telephone interviews with staff who have participated in the development of the two library websites Mina bibliotek and Biblioteket.se regarding their experiences. The theoretical basis for the analysis is two gender theoretical perspectives with reference to technology. The first perspective is represented by Yvonne Hirdman?s theory concerning the gender system, in which women and men are kept apart and in which there is always a hierarchy where men are higher up, and Hanna Westberg-Wohlgemuth?s theory concerning sex marking of job-tasks.

The deregulation during the last decade within the airline businesses have called upon a more fierce competition among airlines. This fact forces airlines to continuously focus on service development in order to offer attractive solutions to satisfy customers changing needs and stay competitive. This paper focuses on service development at Scandinavian Airlines. The aim of this case study is to examine the sources of information used in service development and new service development at Scandinavian Airlines. Further the aim is to examine whether information derived from customers can be shown to play a more important role in either service development or new service development.

Fotografen och bröllopsbilden : hur teknikskiftet från analog till digital teknik påverkat bröllopsfotografernas villkor och vanor

This paper examines how and if the understanding of wedding photography has changed during the shift of technology - from analog to digital photography. It examines if the changed conditions due to the shift of technology have changed the habits and conditions for the photographers working with wedding photography. It furthermore examines what impact these habits and conditions have had on the pictures of weddings. The investigation is based on interviews of six photographers that have worked professionally before and after the shift of technology, as well as of pictures by the photographers taken before and after the shift of technology.Use of time and space has changed due to the shift of technology. The change has also had an influence on hierarchy among the photographers.
