The paper examines how human inner properties and the interpretation of the external worldare explained and presented in Dark City (Alex Proyas, 1998). Aspects as the relationship between the body and soul/consciousness, body snatching, memory transferences and dystopian cities are analyzed. The field of study is compared to a general science-fiction film perspective regarding the aspects. Dark City contains an alien race with a common mind, but who lacks soul and individuality. They represent what humanity can become if the scientific development goes too far.

The aim of this masters thesis is to analyze how subjects of ethnographical objects should be described. To obtain this we focus on which subject aspects of ethnographical objects that could be possible and valuable to analyze and to index. This is done with the help of established LIS subject indexing theories, and through the perspective of ethnographical museum documentation. The theories are both general, concerning the stages of subject indexing, and more specific, regarding the indexing of pictures. One of the latter is the theoretical model of Sara Shatford, from the article Analyzing the Subject of a Picture.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to study the discourses on culture as developed by EU Commission. The method applied is a discoursebased historical analysis, where analysis of arguments and metaphors are functional to the enlightening of the construction of discourses within EU cultural policy. EU official documents constitute the empirical material studied. The theoretical framework of the thesis draws upon cultural public sphere theory as well instrumentalist cultural policy research.

I vården sker ständiga förändringar för att effektivisera verksamheten. Förändringar som ofta leder till att närstående till patienter mer eller mindre frivilligt får ge sig in i vården. Närstående behöver därför ett helt annat stöd idag än tidigare, behöver mer information och allmänna och specifika kunskaper. Teoretisk referensram i denna studie är SAUK-modellen som är en omvårdnadsmodell för att få ett bekräftande möte. Syftet är att belysa hur närstående till patienter upplever sig i mötet med sjuksköterskan.

Tillit i det vårdande mötet är något som har uppmärksammats mer och får en större betydelse i vårdandet. Tillit är många gånger något som upplevs som självklart att den bara finns där. En semantisk analys av begreppet tillit gjordes för att finna de synonymer som bäst beskriver begreppet. Syftet med arbetet var att belysa hur tillit kommer till uttryck i vårdandet. Studien bygger på en litteratur studie som efter ett urval resulterade i fyra artiklar.

The aim of this study was to find out if hypertext structure has any relevance for the efficiency of information retrieval. An experiment, in which three variants of hypertext structure were compared, was carried out in the autumn of 1998. Three websites with different structures were constructed for this purpose: a sequential version, a hierarchical version and a webcluster version. 44 subjects, all students at the University of Lund, were randomly divided into three groups. Subjects were requiered to answer a number of questions using one of the three versions.

Problem:I dag finns det ett stort behov av säkra identifierings metoder på Internet. Traditionellt sätt är en handskriven namnteckning en form av identifiering och vad som behövs är en elektronisk motsvarighet. Hypotes: "Elektroniska signaturer leder till ökad integritet och säkerhet vid identifiering på Internet" Syfte: Målet och syftet med denna uppsats är att studera och analysera huruvida elektroniska signaturer kommer att bidra till ökad integritet och säkerhet vid identifiering på Internet. Slutsats:Genom att jämföra praktiska erfarenheter (fallstudie) och teoretiska kriterier kunde vi analysera oss fram till att vår hypotes är sann.

Bakgrund: Ett behov av människovänligt omhändertagande krävs inom intensivvårdens speciella omgivning. I alla möten reagerar individer på vrandra. Det bemötande anhöriga får påverkar dem och deras förmåga att klara av en krissituation. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa mötet med intensivvården utifrån ett anhörigperspektiv. Metod: Litteraturstudien byggde på tolv studier varav fem med kvalitativ forskningsansats och fyra med kvantitativ ansats, samt tre med en kombination av kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats. Studierna granskades och analyserades i avsikt att komma fram till slutliga teman. Resultat: I resultatet framkom det olika teman som var av betydelse för de anhöriga: information, närhet och delaktighet samt känslomässigt stöd. Diskussion: Anhöriga är i behov av ett bra möte med intensivvården. Genom goda kunskaper om Calgary modellen kan vårdaren involvera anhöriga i vården.

Information technology has become an integral part of our everyday lives. The Web is an important part of this development, however, web pages can be inaccessible to many groups of users. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the accessibility of Swedish public library websites. Besides examining the general accessibility, this study also covers whether any specific aspect of accessibility is particularly poor and if so which groups may be affected. In addition, this study also examines whether a correlation can be found between the degree of accessibility and the size of the website.

Detta projekt är en hemsida för Mixi Print AB. Den ska fungera som en framsida för företaget ur ett digitalt synsätt, en plats där det går att få fram information om företaget och dess produkter snabbt och enkelt. Jag har arbetat med programmet flash eftersom det ger möjlighet till bra och enkel men ändå fräsch design. Till detta så har jag kombinerat php och MySQL för att kunna koppla det till en databas. The aim of this two years master´s thesis is to examine discourses about electronic books in relation to libraries that occur in the Swedish library journal Biblioteksbladet by using critical discourse analysis (CDA). The thesis also aims to discuss changes in the discourse practice, and discuss the relationship between discourse practice and social practice in the field of library and Information Science (LIS). A main point of CDA is that language is a form of social practice that helps shape social reality. Furthermore the concept of ideology, as understood with-in CDA, brings understanding to the way discursive events help reproduce and transform social relations of pow-er. The text samples span from 2005 up to and including 2011 and were examined by using Norman Fairclough´s three-dimensional conception of discourse, which allows for interpretation of text on a linguistic, discursive and social level.The result of the analysis showed that there are several different discourses about electronic books and li-braries, none of which can be said to be particularly representative.

Uppsasten vill ge svar på vilka förutsättningar som måste anses uppfyllda för att ett varumärke skall erhålla skydd genom inarbetning. Dessa förutsättningar har beskrivits med utgångspunkt i 2§ 3st VmL. Fokus i uppsatsen har även legat på marknadundersökningens roll vid fastställande av inarbetning. Där har en intervju genomförts med en representant från Stokholms handelskammares varumärkesnämnd. Varumärkesnämnden låter olika undersökningsföretag utföra diverse marknadsundersökningar.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to investigate the notions and use of non fiction literature of children 9-11 years old. Moreover, this study tries to dissect the underlying concepts that exert influence over the target groups notions and use of non fiction literature. The method and empirical basis of this study is qualitative, with interviews of eight children within the target group. We use a theory of reading exchange to highlight the different areas of usability of non fiction for children. To emphasize how children use non fiction as representative for actual facts, or as non fiction with fictional content, we use a four-field correlation model.

Abstract In the contemporary world of information technology you find a multitude of applications and systems covering a broad spectrum of areas of need in different companies. One effect of this multitude of programs is the difficulty to make them exchange information with each other or to collaborate, since they are developed by different programming languages for different platforms, with different standards and different data formats. Our aim with this work is to describe how it is possible to tie these programs together to make them actually communicate with each other in order to exchange information, share their native methods and also to become a part of the overall business processes. In this integration task you will, among other things, find different levels of application integration such as data level, method level, application interface level and user interface level integration. Application integration also involves hardware components, called middleware, that facilitate the physical connection between applications. There is a range of different middleware products offered today on the market.

Virtual communities are a phenomenon that is becoming more common as the information technology comes with in reach for the general public. This report will bring the theories and construction of a virtual community together. The purpose of this report is to describe the different theories that have emerged from the research within this field and to examine the work procedures that have been used during the development of a site for a MDA-community. The MDA-website is a homepage on the Internet that was developed to bring the students closer together.
