The aim of this study is to examine what preschool teachers within Reggio Emilia inspired early childhood education express as important regarding the physical Indoor environment in preschools. The study is implemented with a qualitative method and is based on four interviews with preschool teachers that have been involved in a course on Reggio Emilia. The interviews were complemented with four observations on the departments where the preschool teachers work. A second aim of this study is to examine how the relationship between the teachers statements correlate with the environment they have created at their preschool. The collected material was gathered and then categorized.

This master thesis includes a description of how a number of sensors are put together in a sensor platform. It also gives a description of how localization and mapping has been performed with data collected from the sensor platform. Localization is a prerequisite for most of the tasks that can be requested from an autonomous mobile robot. In many situations the GPS signal is not available and hence an additional localization system is required. One approach is to apply localization based on landmarks extracted from the robots surrounding.

På uppdrag av Sweco Systems i Umeå har detta examensarbete utförts under våren 2013. Syftet var att undersöka huruvida något av de energiberäknings-program som används på företaget kan anses vara lämpligt vid energikartläggningar av befintliga fastigheter.Inledningsvis utfördes en energikartläggning av fastigheten Odin 12 i Umeå, som i huvudsak utgörs av gallerian MVG. Med resultaten från denna energikartläggning som grund beräknades därefter fastighetens energianvändning i två olika program ? VIP-Energy och IDA Indoor Climate and Energy.Resultaten från den inledande kartläggningen visar att fastigheten har ett lågt behov av fjärrvärme, vilket förklaras av fastighetens höga elförbrukning. Den stora användningen av el genererar stora mängder internvärme som, förutom att sänka fjärrvärmebehovet, även medför att fastigheten under hela året har ett kylbehov.Utvärderingen av de två beräkningsprogrammen visar att VIP-Energy är ett lämpligt program att använda vid energikartläggningar.

The author has, with the help of AK Consultancy Indoor Air AB, formed a series of questions regarding moisture problems in buildings and how these are handled in extreme climates with high temperatures and a high relative humidity. Furthermore to analyse and indentify key material that makes a construction safe against moisture problems. Ventilation, AC and the choice of materials have in a later stage of the thesis been investigated to enhance the knowledge of moisture protection. The research for this report includes measurements on existing buildings, calculation models on the building envelope for analyses and the ingoing materials of the envelope. The health aspect of moisture problems related to ?sick building syndrome? has been included and interviews have been conducted to gather relevant information.A study of the American system, ASHRAE, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the standards used in Singapore has been made to highlight the difference.

Abstract Ideon Science Park was built on the edge of Lund city in mid-80ies. The Science Park was surrounded by open farm land and Lunds Faculty of engineering(LTH). The architecture, the facades of the buildings, were placed to face the faculty. The Science Park has since then grown, and the actual front of the building is no longer faced towards LTH. The people working at Ideon are met by the backside, the meeting with Ideon is primarerly a meeting with fields of parkinglots. The initiative to this thesis was taken by Ikano Fastigheter AB, one of two real estate owners of Ideon Science park. Their aim is to make the area easier to orientate, they want it to be more internally connected and with a stronger identity. The thesis is mainly dealing with two questions conserning Ideon Science center.

The background to the study is that within the next ten years about 50 new multi-purposeIndoor arenas will be built. These are used for various events such as sports, concerts, etc. In order to achieve a high level of security in the case of danger alarm signals and alarmmessages must be heard well by the visitors. ÅF-Ingemansson wanted to show builders the importance of good speech perception and that it is not observed in arenas today. They conducted technical tests on two large multi purpose Indoor arenas to develop parameters that affect speech perception in the arena.To get a subjective view of how these arenas are experienced a survey was created.

Syftet med vår studie är att utifrån ett fenomenologiskt perspektiv bidra till förståelsen för hur kroppsligt samspel uttrycks, uppstår, fortskrider och avslutas i förskolebarns fria inomhuslek samt miljöns och materialets betydelse för detta. För att kunna besvara våra frågeställningar i studien har vi genomfört videoobservationer och fältanteckningar vid två förskolor. Resultatet visar att kroppsligt samspel uttrycks, uppstår, fortskrider och avslutas på många olika sätt. Miljön och materialet har stor betydelse för det kroppsliga samspelet. Vi menar att miljöns utformning och utbudet av material vid sekvenserna har möjliggjort för barnen att mötas i olika lekar.

This thesis describes a construction solution of a villa in Kiruna. The extended essay analyzes which heating system is most suitable for the construction. The options are geothermal, district and pellet heating systems.

The EU Council adopted in 2007, environmental and energy goals with the aim of them must be met by 2050. This, in combination with those of the Swedish government 15 enacted environmental goals is supposed to lead the way for the Swedish environmental work.This report has examined measures in properties in the Swedish Cooperative Housing Society (SKB) stocks.The report discusses a range of measures that might be appropriate to apply on the properties to make them more energy efficient.One of the measures discussed, the vent whose primary purpose is to create a good Indoor environment for the residents but is also where the most energy is lost.Another measure discussed is insulation of the building envelope on the estate to make it more energy efficient. To put extra insulation on the building envelope is important because of the large amount of energy that is lost through the walls, ceilings and floors.Future actions that may be implemented is individual billing of heating and hot water. This system has been used in European countries since the 70's and today the EU wants to increase the own individuals control over their electricity costs. This has led to a discussion whether to implement the system in Sweden or not.However, there are a number of equitable measures to be sorted out before the system can be used in any great scale.Finally, it is important to remember that environmental measures should be the primary and the pursuit of cost reductions the secondary otherwise you risk the environmental work to be counterproductive..

The aim of this project is to investigate the meeting between the city and the sea and tolook into how that could be developed and made use of. I want to find out how you can increase the availability of a specific place and make it more welcoming, I also want to bring life to an already existing space and create a central meeting place in the city. The purpose is to give form to an esplanade along a dock in the central parts of Kalmar. Starting with an analysis of this public place, I want to create a concept that is close to the existing context and communicates the contrasts or associations between for example: city and nature, artificial and natural and Indoor and outdoor. The primary object of the project is to add a welcoming, public place to the city where you on an accessible way canfamiliarize yourself with the meeting between the city and the sea.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur pedagoger på förskolan tänker om miljön och materialets betydelse för barns utveckling och lärande. Vi har även tagit reda på hur innemiljön på avdelningarna är uppbyggda, om de är traditionella och ser ut som hemmet eller om de är inspirerande för barnen att experimentera och utforska i miljön. Vi har också tittat på hur materialet används och hur detta är placerat och vilken tillgång barnen har till det. Vi har utgått från det sociokulturella perspektivet i studien, vilket menar att det är pedagogen som organiserar miljön runt barnen och att barnen tar hjälp av sin omgivning för att lära och utvecklas. Vårt empiriska insamlande material har tagits fram via intervjuer och observationer.

The environmental assessment system Miljöbyggnad is a Swedish system initiated by Bygga-Bo-Dialogen to assess buildings with regards to three main areas; ?Energy?, ?Indoor climate? and ?Materials?. A building can obtain three different classifications depending on how well it manages to meet the demands. GOLD is the highest classification and is followed by SILVER and BRONZE. The majority of the measures needed to comply with the demands are done during the design phase.
