En helt vanlig Idol : Identitetsskapande processer i Aftonbladet och Expressen
The aim of the study was to examine how Swedish tabloid journalism presented the contestants in the Swedish version of the reality show Idol 2009. We wanted to see which approaches tabloid news papers use when constructing the public identities of them. We have used text analysis to examine 37 articles and nine front pages with focus on the words, propositions, comparisons and parables that describe four of the contestants. In addition we have looked at myths and connotations shown in the pictures by using a semiotic analysis. The results show that the Swedish tabloids tend to describe the contestants in relation to their performances and personalities.

AbstractThe Swedish society has always been monolingual, but has for the past decades transformed into a multicultural and multilingual society. The aim of this study is to investigate if and in that case how preschool teachers work with language development in bilingual and multicultural preschools. The concept of linguistic and cultural diversity includes several different components, not least the social interactions that are of great importance to every individual's development, learning and participation in the world. By understanding the importance of language, language development and the role of mother tongue in second language acquisition, we look into various researches done concerning the effects of the preschool teachers? opinions, methods used to language developmental primarily for children who are multilingual and how the physical environment is shaped to promote language in multicultural and multilingual preschools.The method used in this study is semi-structured interviews with preschool teacher working in multicultural or bilingual preschool settings.
Apprentship : En rapport om en kreativ designprocess av en webbaserad tjänst
Denna rapport redovisar utvecklingen av en tjänst för att lättare kunna söka praktikplats och praktikanter. Tjänsten utvecklades som ett eget projekt att senare kunna visas upp som ett förslag för intressenter av verktyg som detta. Utvecklingen har följt dagens principer för användbarhetsdesign och upplevelsedesign. Målet har under hela utvecklingsperioden varit att skapa något som speglar denna tids trender och applikationer för möten. Resultatet av detta projekt har landat i en hifi prototyp, grafisk profil samt konceptbeskrivning för hur tjänsten ska fungera och användas.

This study aims to build a deeper understanding of how differences in identities and communication can affect the possibilities of achieving a successful merger between companies from different type of industries. Our study is of qualitative nature and looks into the specific merger between Företagshälsovården AB and Managementkonsulterna AB. The study builds upon 16 semi structured interviews which are carried out with employees from both parts of the organization and with management personnel. Firstly our study shows that the different identities existing within the different parts of the organization, highly affect the integration process after a merger. Secondly we show that the level of communication transmitted from the management, but also between the different parts of the organization, affects the possibilities of creating a successful merger.

Friend lists allow Facebook users to group their friends and may be used to share certain information only with those in a specific list. This function has been around for several years, but has never gained any particular popularity among users, most of whom probably did not know it even existed a couple of years ago. In the fall of 2011, however, the function was updated and made more visible on the site.There are several possible uses of friend lists, such as privacy control, filtering of the news feed, self-presentation and targeted information sharing. This paper aims to investigate the extent to which friend lists are used by students today, as well as why students actually use their lists, i.e. for what purposes.Judging from the results of this study in comparison with earlier research, there seems to have been a somewhat recent increase in the awareness of the fact that friend lists actually do exist, but still most users tend not to utilize them.

Förord:Ämnet för mitt examensarbete var att arbeta med företagsidentitet genom att fläta samman ett specifikt företags (Löfstrands möbelrenoveringsverkstad) befintliga verksamhetsstruktur och ambition med planeringen och formgivningen av dess egenproducerade objekt.Löfstrands Verkstads vilja att skapa möbler som skall kunna ärvas vidare (likt de möbler de renovering i sin befintliga verksamhet) lades tillsammans med möjligheterna med småskalig produktion (i deras verkstad, samt kontaktnät) som grund till en verksamhetsbreddning för Löfstrands Verkstad i Hägersten.Den fysiskt manifesterade slutprodukten av examensarbetet är en möbelkollektion skapad för Löfstrands ideal, identitet, lager- och produktionsmöjligheter. En kollektion i vilken kunden bjuds in till medskapande (eller art directing) av möblerna för att knyta strarka band till dessa och verkstaden..
Det hållbara varumärket : En studie om varumärkens utveckling och förändring
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and analyse factors that may have an influence and can affect a brand?s development and change over time. By doing this we want to clarify which factors it is important for a company to understand and gain control over.To find the answer to our thesis we have carried out six semi-structured interviews which all were of qualitative character. The reason why we chose to work with the qualitative methodology was mainly that we wanted to achieve a deeper knowledge about our choice of subject. The empiric data that we have gathered have been compared and combined with our theories and resulted in our analysis which made us gain a deeper understanding of our subject.
Att leva med dubbel identitet : En analys av andra generationens invandrare och deras syn på identitet, kultur och tillhörighet
Den här uppsatsen berör identitetsskapande och social tillhörighet hos tre andra generationens invandrare i Östergötland. Mitt syfte med uppsatsen är att se hur deras identitetsskapande påverkas av att de i sin hemmiljö har en annan kulturell influens än den svenska. I uppsatsen har jag använt mig av intervjuer för att få fram den empiri jag grundar min diskussion på. Intervjuerna har varit både sådana där jag satt mig ner med mina informanter men även Internetbaserade då det inte fanns tid för informanten att möta mig. Mina frågeställningar i uppsatsen har varit: Om, och i så fall hur, har informanten påverkats av att ha en eller båda föräldrar med icke-svenskt ursprung? och Hur ser informanten på sig själv utifrån tillhörighet och identitet?.

Företaget säljer handgjorda kläder och accessoarer i lintyg.En teoretisk del i arbetet tar upp hur varumärket kan kommuniceras genom hemsidan.Den grafiska profilen utformades utifrån företagets identitet. Det är viktigt att företaget speglas på ett korrekt sätt. Ett företags identitet kan beskrivas som organisationens själ och den visas utåt i form av bland annat den grafiska profilen. Denna ses därför som en viktig identitetsbärare och den kan kallas för den visuella identiteten.

The objective of this project was to develop the visual Identityof Halleluja, a brand new booking agency representing approximatelytwenty minor artists within a wide range of contemporarymusic styles.The outcome has been applied to business cards and awebsite yet to be produced. To attract the audience and differentiateitself from other booking companies, Halleluja featuresa minimalist design that speaks of dedication, breadth ofgenres and exclusive taste. Although my sketches have beenapproved by Lars Olsson and Erik Sundfeldt, the co-foundersof Halleluja, I have had the privilege of working quite freely andstarting from scratch, since there was no earlier work done onthe company.Some of the issues I have faced during my process wasabout finding the right tone of voice in type and colour, ordealing with the semantics of the corporate name (meaning»praise the Lord«). Mail Exchange Protocol (MEP): Ett utkast till nytt protokoll för elektronisk post
SMTP, the current protocol for sending electronic mail (e-mail) over the Internet, has for many years suffered from several problems and limitations. When it was designed, well over twenty years ago, the requirements for e-mail were very different from those of today. A message was a text message in English, and both user and machine were explicitly named in the address. The protocol was not designed to transfer other types of messages, and no mechanism was included to verify the Identity of the sender.In order to solve these shortcomings, a new e-mail protocol needs to be defined. This report specifies a basis for what such a protocol may look like.
Bloggen - socialt medium med makt potential : En kvalitativ studie om konsumtionsideal bland svenska och internationella bloggar
Today, we live in a consumption society. We buy products to soothe our needs and desires. Thru material things we can express our own personal Identity and shopping is seen more as a pleasure than a need to survive. With the background media- and communication studies, the reason of this study was to explore how blogs as a social medium can influence the consumption ideal in society. With dialogical analysis and semiotic analysis we wanted to see if we could find a specific consumption culture in the content of six blogs we did our studies on. We found that the blogs showed us that there is normal to have everyday luxury and spoil oneself with expensive things.
Identitet i vardagsrum : Vardagsrummet som en del i identitetsskapande
Den här studien undersöker vad det finns för samband mellan akademikers identitet i stockholmsområdet och deras vardagsrum. Fyra intervjuer har gjorts hemma hos akademiker för att undersöka hur deras förhållande till vardagsrummet speglar synen på den egna identiteten. Fokus i uppsatsen ligger på att analysera hur vardagsrummen hjälper informanterna att visa upp sin identitet och hur de själva pratar om rummet. I uppsatsen tar jag också upp informanternas förhållande till tv och hur det hänger samman med deras identitet. Slutsatsen i min uppsats är i korthet att mina informanter verkar ha en uppfattning om vad deras egen identitet innebär och att försöker inreda sina vardagsrum så att de ska spegla denna bild både för andra och sig själva.
Människan - en gruppvarelse : en kvalitativ studie om grupperingars och status betydelse för elever i årskurs 9
In this study, five qualitative interviews were conducted, four of those with pupils and one with a teacher, in grade 9. Humans - a gregarious creature written in the context of status and hierarchy, aims to study how these students in grade 9 are grouped and how you look at each other in and between these groups and also in terms of status between and within the group. Using the concepts of Identity, adaption, exclusion and the meaning of emotions with the chosen theoretical concepts by Goffman and, Elias and Scotson the purpose of this study has been answered. The results showed that the students were quite flexible between the groups in their class; most of them were part of a small group that consisted of their ?close? friends.
