This paper examines whether membership in the European Union has contributed to democratic stability and integration in an ethnic diverse society. By studying the Latvian multicultural society, before and after membership in the EU, the author is looking for evidence of enhanced ethnic stability in the country brought through European integration. The author will analyze what the consequences have been, by adopting European regional policy, for a country that yet has to create a unified national Identity. By analyzing different areas of the Latvian society, the author has concluded that the EU has played a small but yet not insignificant role for the Latvian domestic integration process..

Vår uppsats strävar efter att beskriva turisters motivations- och identitetskapande med hjälp av det sociala mediet Facebook. Facebook är idag det största sociala nätverket och unga vuxna är de mest frekventa användarna. Vi kommer således i vår uppsats gå in på en djupare diskussion om deras använde av Facebook vid resande med hjälp av information insamlad genom personliga intervjuer samt litteratur. De intervjuade bestod av svenska unga vuxna i åldrarna 18-25 år. Den specifika åldersgruppen valdes eftersom de tillhör den största användargruppen på Facebook.

This thesis discusses the representation of bodies in todays non-fiction television in Sweden. I have chosen to focus on deviant bodies (sexual, deformed or unhealthy) on display in reality-shows and documentaries on SVT, TV4 but especially on the commercial channels TV3 and Kanal5. Also discussed are the viewers emotional and bodily reactions. Altough these shows are different from one another in many respects, I argue that there is also a common thread between them. From a sociological and cultural perspective, and with help of some historical examples, I try to illustrate how we view these shows and what their function is.

The purpose with this master´s thesis is to examine how helth and unhelthy in the Swedish magazines Topphälsa, Fitnez Magazine, hälsa and I Form. The study is made from a discourse analytical approach and text and pictures are analysed together. The governmentality-perspective is also used as a theoretical frame. Power and govern are two inportant conceptions for this paper. The purpose with this essay is to explore the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the food industry. We have decided to focus on how five different ethical labels are communicated towards students and the standpoint of the study is the students understanding of the communication. The labels that we have chosen to examine in the study are KRAV, Fairtrade, Svanen, Ekologiskt Jordbruk and Rainforest Alliance. The primary research question in the study is? How are the students purchase behavior affected by ethical labels in the food industry??.Throughout the study we will refer to CSR-products as products are stamped with one or several of the named ethical labels.

I den här studien har vi undersökt hur vårdnadshavarnas och pedagogernas bemötande gentemot barnen påverkar deras identitet, samt om förskolans miljö har en inverkan på dem. I läroplanen för förskolan är jämställdhet ett skrivet mål som skall genomsyra verksamheten. Vi har använt oss av den kvalitativa metoden där vi genom observationer, frågeformulär och intervjuer har fått fram ett underlag till vår studie. Resultatet visar generellt att pedagogernas och vårdnadshavarnas förhållningssätt och handlingar påverkar barnens möjligheter och hur de ser på sig själva som pojke eller flicka. Även förskolans miljö har en inverkan på barns val av aktiviteter.

The purpose of this essay is to illustrate how an organisation with several different cultural activities, such as a regional museum, works with anemphasis on participation. The essay focuses on Kulturparken Småland AB, which encourages the public to be more involved in its activities. Aqualitative approach is used, including nine interviews with employees at theorganisation. A number of theories form the basis of this study: institutionaltheory, which focuses on the context of the organisation, Bourdieu?s theoriesof different capital and Abbott?s theory regarding professionals.

The purpose of this study has been to maintain a deeper understanding of how unestablished, professional musicians can get discovered by the music industry by communication, branding and positioning of their brand at social media.We found that fans have a greater impact on unestablished musicians than we previously thought. They have to create an Identity for their brand, keep active on social media and engage their fans. Musical artists must maintain an ongoing dialogue to keep their fanbase, preferably with emotions involved. No fans equals minimum attention from the industry. Uniformity and professionalism is also important, because it evokes seriousness.

Den här uppsatsen berör hur utomeuropeiska invandrare upplever att deras etableringsaktiviteter skapar hinder och möjligheter för inträde på arbetsmarknaden, samt hur detta har berört deras identitetsskapande i det svenska samhället. I uppsatsen har jag använt mig av intervjuer och inspirerats av metoden grundad teori för att få fram och analysera empirin. Intervjuerna har utförts personligen, och mina frågeställningar i uppsatsen har varit: Vad innebär etableringsaktiviteterna för informanterna, Hur upplever de att etableringsaktiviteterna har främjat respektive motverkat deras möjlighet att få arbete och Hur upplever informanterna att detta har berört deras identitetsskapande?.

Vidare har de teoretiska utgångspunkterna hämtats utifrån modeller såsom Standardsystem i Verksamheter och Välja och Förvalta Standardsystem. The purpose of this paper has been to study how users experiences and behaviors are influenced by a "like" function, when publication of images in social media with the photo app Instagram as the selected base. In this study respondents has been part of a study regarding their experiences and behavior related to "like" function in Instagram. The results of the question form have then been analyzed to find patterns in their behavior and to exemplify/reinforce different type of user-behavior found in related scientific articles.The study has shown that the behavior of Instagram users is affected by the "like" function, when they believes that the function is a status marker that raises the interest for certain users by the number of likes.
