The aim of this report is to give a concise description of curtain walls, what it is and why they are used. It is also a description of six different but commonly used design technologies. By giving a detailed description of the different types and there special properties, the pros and cons will be clarified. The three most interesting alternatives were selected to be included in a test, to show the best alternative from a certain point of view.The parameters are:? Environment? Cost? Ergonomics? Isolation against noise and fire? DurabilityThese are important parameters in the planning and design phase.

Mitt syfte är att ge en bakgrund till att Gårdtjärns Missionsförsamling bildades 23 februari 1908, att beskriva bildandet och den första tidens verksamhet till år 1926. Som titeln antyder vill jag konfrontera denna verklighet mot det ideal av jämlikhet mellan kvinnor och män som finns i orsaken till bildandet, Bibelns ord.De frågor jag ställt till det material jag kunnat ta del av ärHur såg livet i Sättna socken och Gårdtjärns by ut vid sekelskiftet?Hur växte väckelsen fram till det att väckelsen kom till Sättna på 1850-talet?Hur växte väckelsen fram i Sättna socken?Finns det ett samband mellan nykterhetsrörelsen och väckelserörelsen i Sättna?Hur bildades Gårdtjärns missionsförsamling och vad kan sägas ha legat bakom församlingsbildningen?Vad berättar denna historia om kvinnors och mäns olika roller i väckelsen?.

I denna uppsats undersöks hur användarna på det virtuella nätverket facebook väljer att framställa sig själva samt vad som ger social status därpå, och detta ur ett genusperspektiv. Facebook är ett socialt virtuellt nätverk som baserar dig på relationer förankrade utanför internet, och har på en mycket kort tid nått en stor spridning. Facebook är därför en social arena som möjliggör nya möjligheter men även begräsningar i presentationen av jaget. Uppsatsens resultat baseras på en innehållsanalys av statusuppdateringar och bilder från facebook, som analyserats utifrån relevant sociologisk teoribildning. De resultat som framkommit ur analysen tyder på att den framställning som görs av användarna på facebook är en idealiserad och ytlig sådan, där båda könen strävar efter att framstå som populära, framgångsrika och lyckade.

Denna uppsats syftar till att kartlägga och beskriva de ideal som rått inom svenskträdgårdskonst under 300 år i Sverige. Arbetet behandlar relationen mellan människan,naturen och trädgårdskonsten, ur ett historiskt perspektiv. Uppsatsens huvuddel består i enkartläggning av den svenska idéhistoriska utvecklingen vad gäller natursyn samt en parallellbeskrivning av ledande trender och rådande ideal inom svensk landskapsarkitektur under 300år. Beskrivningen sker i kronologisk ordning och är uppdelad efter århundraden med börjanpå 1700-talet.Under 1700-talets skedde en stor förändring i människans syn på natur, vilken gav avtryckäven inom trädgårdskonsten. Istället för 1600-talets tuktade barockträdgårdar började denengelska landskapsparken få fäste även i Sverige och det nya, naturförskönande idealet blevbörjan på en lång stiltradition inom trädgårdskonst, där naturen stod förebild för trädgårdensutformning.

Facebook´s importance has grown significantly regarding crisis communication. A deficiency concerning what types of companies has been investigated earlier and how their crisis communication should be carried out on Facebook, has been identified. The aim of this study is to examine the crisis communication of a smaller company on Facebook and explore how this communication has been received by the company?s recipients. We apply an explorative approach on to a case study in order to answer the aim.

We investigate the effects of various types of word-of-mouth (WOM) messages on consumer bahavior. The message is varied along two dimensions where one is valence and the other is whether or not it contains an explicit call for certain behavior or attitude change. We use an experiment in the form of a web-based survey. Five different scenarios were designed to represent neutral, positive, and negative WOM. The latter two came in two different versions - one with a recommendation and one without.

Skönhetsideal och vilken betydelse medierna spelar i sammanhanget väcker både intresse och känslor.Denna uppsats har utifrån gestaltningsteorin studerat hur de tre största tjejtidningarna i Sverige FRIDA, SOLO och Veckorevyn använt sig av sina omslag och textpuffar för att locka till sig sina läsare. Uppsatsen bygger på en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av tidningarnas textpuffar och omslag, där fem årtal mellan 2000 och 2010 har undersökts. Detta för att försöka se en utveckling hos tidningarna.Undersökningen har visat att den typiska omslagspersonen är en känd tjej/ kvinna som är blond eller icke-blond. Hon är oftast påklädd, poserar, ler och tittar in i kameran.

In this thesis we investigate the level of deliberative democracy in the current implementation of the 24/7 Agency in the local government. We are interested in how the combination of the two seemingly opposing ideals of Demokratiutredningen and the 24/7 Agency is solved. Our analysis is based on interviews with civil servants from three kommuner in Skåne and a schematic overview of their websites. As a theoretical framework we use New Public Management Theory, Deliberative Democracy Theory, and Citizen Theory.We have found that the local 24/7 Agency is initiated and implemented by public servants. Their experiences and worldview is mirrored in both process and result.

The purpose of this study is to investigate which types of cultural capital gives high status in the current field of ?the creative industry? ? a group which could be seen as a new power elite in Gothenburg ? and how people with the ?right? cultural capital is included in the field. The author is invited to several free events within this field, and is investigating the process of inclusion with an auto-ethnographic method. The study will show that the process of inclusion is working quite absolute in the field of the creative industry, and that the audiences are mainly homogenous: masculine, white, middle class, has a taste disposition of the ?eclectic omnivore?, has entrepreneurial knowledges and is an active social media agent.

The purpose of this essay is to study the role of web radio in Sweden. To fulfill the purpose we have done a case study of two Swedish radio stations: Sveriges Radio AB, which is a public service station, and a commercial station called Mix Megapol. By interviewing two persons from each station and analyzing the contents of their web sites, we have tried to see how the relationship between radio, Internet and web radio looks like. Thus, our method is qualitative. We have come to many conclusion of which some are: The new medium web radio borrows qualities from the traditional radio.

The work aims to clarify what nautical officers onboard in today's merchant can do to help reduce bunker consumption during the voyage? The question we have asked ourselves during the autumn term in 2008 much was said about the premium bunker prices, and how the future could affect our daily lives as nautical officer. We felt here that the school had relatively little knowledge of the subject and therefore felt that it would be interesting to identify how it really looks like onboard the ships today. To collect information we contacted 7 Swedish companies that operate with different types of vessels, in order to get a broad picture of the whole industry. For shipping companies we asked questions about how actively they were working on the issue and what methods they used.

In the last decades, lean production has proven to be one of the most important organizational paradigms in manufacturing. The lean concept has also spread into the service industry where it is applied within a range of different areas. The wide applicability of lean principles has spurred the authors of this study to apply the principles in the context of the operations of a Swedish remand prison. The thesis examines the process a client of the remand prison Häktet Kronoberg goes through from the time of arrest until he/she is released or convicted and transferred to jail. Based on lean tools and principles, the thesis maps and analyses this process.

Terrorism. A word that makes you think about different situations throughout the last decade that has passed. However, in this particular thesis the purpose is to examine both national and international terrorism from a Clausewitzian theory. The main point is to examine whether any of these types of terrorisms can fit in to this theory and as examples in this study are the terrorist organizations ETA and al-Qaida. The questions to be answered in this paper are if their aims can be explained as political and how far are they ready to go to have their way? Furthermore, the reason for this paper is to find an understanding for why the terrorist organizations act as they do.The result of this comparative study is that both terrorist organizations fit in to the theory because their goals can be seen as political and therefore can their aims justify their actions.
