In this study I compare the donor portraits on wallpaintings in Scanian churches from the 12th and the 15th century and relate them to medieval society.I find that women were equally capable of owning and donating land during the entire period. The image of the ideal woman changed during the 14th century from a married woman to the unreachable mistress of the chivalrous culture and the holy virgin. Women had a natural place beside their husbands in 12th century donor portraits, while single male donors are more frequent in the 15th century. While 12th century donors were supposed to show their position in society by offering plentiful donations directly to God, donors in the 14th century instead strived to present themselves as humble and pious. The individualisation of late medieval society meant that people had to depend on themselves to achieve salvation..

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka pedagogers tankar kring sin åldersgruppering i förskolan. Studien genomfördes med hjälp av litteraturstudier och intervjuer med pedagoger på förskolor med åldersblandat samt åldershomogent arbetssätt. Dessa delar sammanställdes och jämfördes med varandra. Resultaten visade att de som arbetar med åldersblandade barngrupper är mer missnöjda med sitt arbetssätt än de med åldershomogent arbetssätt. Vi har kunnat se ett samband mellan påverkan på sin arbetssituation och hur nöjd man är med denna.

In this master?s thesis the problem of simulating conditional Bernoulli distributed stochastic variables, given the sum, is considered. Three simulation methods are considered, namely the acceptance/rejection technique, Bondesson?s method and the Markov chain Monte Carlo method.To compare the three methods the bias and the standard deviations of the simulated variables are evaluated. The results of the simulation study shows that the Markov chain Monte Carlo method is not the best method for this type of simulation.

Mass media is becoming more and more personalized and despite common ideas it could actually be a good thing. Instead of affecting the actual content of news coverage it might only have an effect on the way in which news are presented. Famous politicians more regularly become symbols and synonyms for their parties or for the government and are being used to create interest in the beginning of articles.Those are the results from a content analysis of the newspaper coverage of the Swedish parliamentary election in 1976 and 2006 in which the scientist categorized each article in one of four ideal types, counted quotes and analyzed whether personal names were interchangeable with party names without affecting the content. All three methods showing that it is the presentation, not the content, which has been personalized.At the same time, psychology-science tells us about the human brains associative learning processes, where memorizing becomes far more efficient when the information can be connected to an already known person. Syfte: Syftet med vår uppsats är att, genom teoristudier, fokusgruppintervjuer och individuella intervjuer med kännare inom området, förstå hur och till vilken grad ungdomar som referensgrupp har inflytande på yngre medelålders- och medelålders människors konsumtionsmönster. Vidare har vi med vår efterforskning för avsikt, att utveckla marknadsförares förståelse kring ungdomsidealet i samhället och hur detta skall beaktas i marknadsföringsplaneringen. Metod: Vi har i vår uppsats genomfört en litteraturstudie, där teorier kring referensgrupper, self-concept, difusion av mode och innovationer samt köp- och beslutsprocessen behandlas. Vidare har empirisk information samlats in genom individuella intervjuer med representanter för näringslivet. Slutligen har 3 fokusgruppintervjuer genomförts.

This essay examines two modern retellings of the classic fairy tale of Snow White and the seven dwarfs in the version of the brothers Grimm. By analyzing the differences in the modern version to the more original one my aim is to be able to see how these objects of popular culture are affected by the type of society they are created within.In my two-step analysis I have first used the theory of narratology to find what changes had been made in the two retellings. Here I have the help of several key concepts of the theorists Vladimir Propp, Gérard Genette and David Bordwell. The effects of Reindeer mechanical damages on the planted regeneration of Pinus sylvestris and Pinus contorta. Semi-domesticated reindeer can damage young trees. In late winter reindeer rub their antlers against young trees. The aim of this study was to quantify those damages. This study covered planted objects from three different areas in northeastern Sweden.

För att få en förståelse kring hur en individs förhållande till mat ger sig i uttryck samt hur dess bakgrund och nutida händelser påverkar valde vi att göra en kvalitativ undersökning. Undersökningen valdes att göra med betoning på upplevelser, därav valet av fenomenologi som ansats. Mat och ätande kan ses som problematiskt vilket medför att vår kvalitativa forskning syftar till att dels se till individernas unika berättelser och mångfalden av hur man uppfattar fenomenet och dels se till de gemensamma komponenter som utgör fenomenet utan att kritisera.Syftet var att undersöka och förstå det sociala fenomenet människans relation till mat genom livet. Syftet delades därefter upp i tre frågeställningar som sedan låg till grund för den semistrukturerade, öppna intervjuguide som utformades.Vår hypotes var att människor hela tiden förändrar sin verklighet och sina tankar kring mat. I resultatet såg vi att det var sociala faktorer som utvecklade och styrde individernas syn på fenomenet samt att stora händelser även kan förändra relationen till mat..

Detta är en kvalitativ och delvis kvantitativ studie med syftet att analysera konsumistiska tendenser i den amerikanska realityserien The Hills utifrån Zygmunt Baumans teorier om konsumtion och konsumism. Frågeställningen lyder: manifesteras en konsumistisk livsstil i The Hills och i så fall hur? Av de drygt 100 avsnitt som finns av The Hills valde vi 18 stycken, tre avsnitt per säsong, att analysera. Analysmetoden inspireras av bland annat Susanna Hornig Priests bok Doing media research: an introduction om kvalitativ innehållsanalys och vi har sedan använt oss av delar från de olika teoriavsnitten. I vår kvantitativa analys har vi använt oss av en tabell som visar hur många minuter och sekunder per avsnitt som spenderas i en viss miljö. I slutdiskussionen diskuterar vi fritt kring The Hills och hur konsumtion och konsumism yttrar sig i serien.

Background: Mergers have been increasing during the latter part of the 1990s. In the Nordic region many previously national companies have joined their forces to create a new Nordic company. This will lead to many challenges when the companies are integrated.Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the integration phase. Our goal is to study the integration of Cloetta Fazer and learn how the company can handle the two types of integration. Procedure: To be able to prove our assumptions, that were made on the basis of literature, we have collected empirical material by interviewing eight managers at Cloetta Fazer.

Denna uppsats handlar om hur artisterna Håkan Hellström och Ken Ring konstruerar diskurser kring maskuliniteten i sina musiktexter. Utifrån poststrukturalistiskt influerad teori kring feminism och maskulinitet görs en komparativ närläsning som bildar en tematiskt uppbyggd studie. Utifrån det för artisterna gemensamma temat utanförskap visar studien att utanförskapet hos Ken Ring är relaterat till en känsla av maktlöshet. Denna kompenserar Ken genom att konstruera maskulina diskurser med ett överdrivet anspråk på det som den europeiska kulturen förknippar med maskulinitet och genus. Detta kan kontrasteras mot Håkan Hellström som i sitt utanförskap konstruerar maskulina diskurser där ?omanlighet? och ett kärleks- och sexualitetsbegrepp där ?jaget? blir könsmässigt tvetydligt, står i fokus.

The object of this essay has been to investigate the interlibrary loan service at the universitylibraries of Borås and Kalmar. For this purpose a quantitative and a qualitative methodhave been used.The main body of information consists of statistic data concerning the incoming interlendingorders for a three-month-period. In order to examine the circumstances under which theinterlending activity exists several interviews were made.The study showed that there are several important factors which together make up the complexitythat governs the interlending activity. What type of demand there is depends on theeducational level, whether the different study programmes have a broad or limited subjectorientation or not, and if the demand is of a constant or an inconstant nature.
