Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka hur det mänskliga beteendet förhåller sig till de samhälliga idealen som markerar perfektion och som utmanar individen att göra sitt yttersta. Studien är explorativ och använder sig av en enkät som undersökningsmetod.

The common asylum and migration policy of the European Union is a struggle between a strong belief in the protection of human rights and the need of strong and secured borders. This paper highlights the dilemma that occurs in the common asylum and migration policy of the European Union. What happens when the union have to choose between liberal standards with high priorities to human rights and a realistic focus on security? The aim is to study the asylum policy presented in the Stockholm Program, and thereafter evaluate what kind of character the union has itself. By an Ideal Type analysis of the Stockholm program from 2009, the common asylum policy is divided into either liberal or realistic ideas.

In recent years coaching has become an increasingly popular phenomenon outside of the sports world. More and more people have found coaching to be a helpful tool for achieving greater performance and fulfillment in their lives. This thesis is a comparative literature study of three books about coaching where the authors use different theoretical bases to explain and teach coaching. The aim of the thesis is to explain how coaching as a phenomenon is described and compare these descriptions as well as to look at the ideals and norms that are produced and reproduced in the use of coaching. The study compares the three books from six different themes and shows that, in the use of coaching, the ideal of a rational and action oriented individual is constructed and the aim for this individual is some form of success.

I stadsranden sker det fysiska mötet mellan vägar och gator samt mellan stad och land. Här sker även mötet mellan urbana och rurala ideal. Syftet i detta arbete är att identifiera och belysa de urbana och rurala ideal som ligger bakom vår uppfattning om stad och land. Dessa ideal står i fokus för den litteraturstudie som belyser det bipolära förhållandet mellan den pastorala naturliga landsbygden och den vitala kulturella staden. Bakgrunden till dessa ideal studeras samt hur gestaltningen och utvecklingen av stad och land påverkats av dessa ideal.

The thesis explores representations of fatherhood in the Swedish blog 'Hemliga pappan' ('Secret/Anonymous Daddy'). The purpose is to identify three themes in the blog material; The Father, The Son and The Partner. I have performed this study using discourse analysis as methodological tool and Critical Studies on Masculinities and Fatherhood as theoretic approach. The theories are Social Constructionist and consist of sociologists and socio-psychologists as Connell, Hearn and Johansson. Important theoretic concepts are the presence and absence of the father as well as hegemonic masculinity.

The aim of this study is to, by developing Ideal Types, describe why studententrepreneurs participate in self organised business network. The investigation is based on answers from 41 participants in the business network ?Företagare på Lnu?, as well astwo semi-focused groups, which where analysed by using Webers (1978) Ideal Types.The investigation shows that there are several reasons for student entrepreneurs to participate in self organised business network. For instance some people participate to gather knowledge from other student entrepreneurs for their own future, since they have an idea of soon starting their own business. As the numbers of immigrants to Sweden and the EU are ever increasing even the right-wing populist parties grow faster in number. Sweden, Germany and France are three European countries that receive 90 percent of all asylum seekers and should therefore have a well-established and talked about immigration policy one can think. Yet the political parties in Sweden do not mention much about the immigration policy apart from the political party Sweden Democrats. This study aims to analyze eight different political parties in the Swedish parliament through a textual analysis to see what kind of immigration policy they share. Carl Dahlström has a theory to determine what type of policy a certain party has and whether they want to assimilate or integrate immigrants.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur olika storlekar på modeller i reklamsammanhang påverkar köplusten hos konsumenter. Utifrån kriterierna reklam, kroppsideal och kroppens verklighet har vi utvecklat en teoretisk modell för att få en klarare bild av relationen mellan dessa tre. Vi lägger fokus på att undersöka om konsumenter föredrar att identifiera sig med modeller eller hellre ser dem som ett ideal. Vi har i undersökningen avgränsat oss till såväl kvinnliga modeller som konsumenter. För att undersöka detta har vi valt att använda oss av experiment och fokusgrupper som består av kvinnliga respondenter i åldersgrupperna 17-35.

Local politicians are key actors in the democratic system and their ideas concerning democracy plays a central role in local democratic politics. The study's point of departure is the notion that local politicians are dependent of coherence between practice and theory concerning democracy and in the study of their ideas we acquire knowledge about the democratic practice.This study examines the local politicians? view of Swedish democracy and explores the logic of the discourse that makes statements concerning democracy possible. Twenty local politicians have been interviewed and from the material a discourse have been established through the use of formulation of problems and cause, nodal points and chains of analogy which is compared with democratic ideals.The study comes to the conclusion that a hegemonic discourse exists, in which central nodal points are representative and listening. The idea of the representative system is hegemonic and is based in the liberal democratic ideal although the view of the citizens rather can be traced to the radical, communitarian and deliberative ideal.
