My thesis is a combination of theory and practice, where theory is meant to create a context and a background for my interpretation proposal. I wanted to ?access? the ideas that are always in the background of the reasoning which underlies both planning in a larger scale, and the design of a place. I wanted to make a ?work of ideas.? In the process of shaping the proposal, I wanted to be deleted from the site itself.

This paper examines constructions of identities in Swedish news paper articles concerning the European Unions?s Tobacco Products Directive. Using critical discourse analysis (CDA) supported by theories of discourse, semiotics and identity formation, this paper argues that constructions of a Swedish ?Us? are distinguished from a non-Swedish ?Them?. These constructions depends on categories such as use of tobacco, science, history and war, which are frequently used in the discourse to separate ?Us?, ?the good? from ?Them?, ?the bad?.

This project has been about making a design suggestion for a boat accessory that adjuststhe distance between a sail-or motorboat and the dinghy, which is connected by a rope inthe stern. Today this is all done by hand and can lead to problems when it comes tostressful situations such as harbors and narrow passages.A company called Sailsafe came up with the idea and the construction, which they alsohave tested. I found them through an acquaintance at Dacat AB where I did an internshipin the fall of 2010.Using sketching as the primary tool I?ve worked in an almost-real design project with theaim to develop my skills and give the company a relevant design suggestion. Young people?s political influence has been surveyed, studied and discussed several times in Sweden during the last decade. There is a fear among the politicians that the young people are not interested in politics, especially not in party politics. On the other hand there is, among the youngsters a feeling of invisibility, not being seen or heard or for that sake respected. There are a lot of formal possibilities for young people?s political influence, but there are not as many real possibilities or situations to actually practice these possibilities.

Vi hör ofta att vi har kommit långt i jämställdhetsfrågan i Sverige och på många punkter har vi det också. Men på andra kan man tro att vi fortfarande lever kvar i 1800-talet. Ett exempel är de svenska teaterscenerna. En stor del av pjäserna som spelas på de statliga scenerna runt om i landet är klassiker, pjäser skrivna i början av 1900-talet och innan. Theshoes are colored with attitude and the models are unisex. The outsoles are soft tomimic the bare foot feeling.The shoe has an opening feature in the back, making it easy to put on.

Denna uppsats försöker beskriva Johan Magnus Wickelius (1817-1867) livsförståelse. Eller hans teologiska typ. I det arbetet har jag använt Benkt-Erik Benktsons typologiska metod, inom vilken man arbetar med schematiserade typer som Wickelius är jämförd med och placerade inom (eller inte) under arbetes gång. Denna typologiska metod är inte en klassificering där individen, som undersöks, är placerad i ett fack för alltid. Individen är istället placerad i ett landskap där de schematiserade typerna är som kullar emellan (eller på) vilka individen sedan placeras.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att genom de arkeologiska källorna visa att historierna om vikingens idrottande har en materiell grund och inte enbart en skriftlig. Materialet består av skriftliga källor som exempelvis Egil Skallagrimsons saga och Grettes saga samt arkeologiska fynd från Skåne påträffade mellan åren 1960-2000. Slutsatsen är att en del av vikingarnas idrottande har lämnat spår efter sig i det arkeologiska materialet..

This thesis deals with oval brooches from the Viking age. The aim of the study is twofold; the first goal is to identify and categorize the brooches according to an already existent scheme, created by two scholars on the subject. This has been accomplished in order establish a separate scheme for this particular material, which consists of two intact and 101 fragments of oval brooches, from Uppåkra in Sweden The other part of the analysis intends to ascertain to what degree it is possible to compare the material with other oval brooches found in Scandinavia, which theories exist about their disappearance and what the most plausible reason for this is..

In the pilot study for a biography, some of the methodological and/or theoretical problems facing the anthropologist and biographer are discussed.The empirical section is based on a number of interviews I made with my grandmother over the period 1995-2001. I have come across inconsistencies in the material when rendering a historical event. Furthermore, the material makes me reflect on how the biographer or anthropologist is able to handle or interpret that she and the subject/informant has a different attitude to metaphors and how the metaphors can change over time, space and interpretation.The essay begins with a summary review of some of the central social and behavioural scientific theories that can be related to the individual and the biography.There then follows an in-depth discussion based on Paul Ricoeur's philosophy that says that your identity is created in relation to how you look at your history and future at the present time. Identities are created in an interaction between the field we are currently in, the cultural capital that includes gestures, mannerisms, symbols, our language and the area of interpretation the field allows in the culture. Consequently, the biography is also a representation that is created in time and space and between the subject and the person rendering the subject.The biography or ethnography is transient and is of necessity a historiography.Ricoeur talks about the living metaphor.

This paper reports from a study looking at teacher?s and student?s apprehensions regarding rubrics. The idea to research this specific subject stems from our interest in this phenomenon due to our education and curiosity about how rubrics are apprehended and not about how they are used or described. To explore this area we have used empirical material compiled through interviews. The analysis is done by creating categories containing various apprehensions expressed in the material through different characterizations of the phenomenon called rubrics.

This thesis concerns the mesolithic relation towards animals and hunting habits among people in Skateholm, Tågerup and Vedbæk - Bøgebakken. The aim is to look at the societies from a cultural point of view and demonstrate that the people living there identified themselves with animals and adapted their lives, their hunting and their burial customs according to rituals and believes concerning animals in their surroundings. The purpose of this essay is to investigate whether bronze workers during the Bronze Age were exclusively specialized, or there actually existed amateur craftsmen. Through archaeological experiments and artefact studies I intend to investigate if it has been at all possible for a less experienced bronze caster to produce usable objects.
