IKEAs etablering i Haparanda : Planerade och förväntade effekter för regionen Haparanda-Torneå

The aim with my research is to illuminate the meaning of IKEAs settle in Haparanda, for the region Haparanda-Tornio, its economic growth and its inhabitants. The research has been carried out only through qualitative methods. Some interviews with a range of people from varying companies have been conducted.Haparanda is a smaller Swedish city situated in the north, on the border to Finland and to a city called Tornio. These two cities, Haparanda and Tornio, has realised they are stronger in pairs, so they initiated cooperation across the border. Haparanda-Tornio is not a region of historically welfare and well-being.

Revisorns roll i familjeföretaget : företagarnas perspektiv

The purpose of this study explains the relationship between corporate governance and the auditor's role in Swedish family firms with the definitions micro, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and how this relationship is affected by the firms strategy. The study is based on a survey sent out to 3000 Swedish SMEs, of which 280 responses from family firms could be used. Our findings showed that the auditor in the family firms didn?t have a specific role or contributed added value to the firm, and that the strategy didn?t affect the outcome. Furthermore, we found correlation between the perceptions of the auditor's role and added value depending on the family firms type of corporate governance.

Kvalitetssäkringsproblematik i den privatiserade svenska familjerådgivningen

The purpose of this article is to examine issues concerning quality assurance in the Swedish family counselling. To obtain the purpose following factors have been analysed: what kind of requirements/criteria are put on the companies/practitioners, what the respondents think about the lack of common standards and criteria and their opinions concerning ?Lagen om valfrihetssystemet?. Monitoring of criteria, privatisation and increased competition are other factors that have been analyzed. The material was obtained from the family counsellors own association and was analyzed in the light of previous research and theories regarding the quality of family counselling however we also considered theories about quality within social work in general.

Att rekonstruera julens budskap -En kvalitativ studie av hur kommersiella företag och hjälporganisationer använder sig av föreställningar om julen i reklamfilm.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and increase the understanding of how the two commercial companies IKEA and SAS and the two aid organizations/nonprofit organizations UNICEF and Save the Children use perceptions of Christmas to produce messages in their Christmas advertising/commercial film. The study also discusses if there may be communicative and pictorial similarities and differences in how these brands constructs messages in commercials, and why it may be that the brands choose to use these messages in commercials based on the recipient possible interpretations. The theories used in this study are promotional culture, framing theory, preferred meaning, semiotics (denotation and connotation), myth and rhetoric (ethos, pathos and logos). The method used to answer the purpose and issues are the qualitative method that uses the theories semiotic and rhetoric to analyze the material. The study's results derived from the qualitative content analyzes of the material (the brands IKEA, SAS, UNICEF and Save the Children Christmas advertising films) show that IKEA message might want to show that they want to help the customer and that they pay attention to the customer needs.

Att tolka som barn : En kvalitativ studie om vuxnas mäns upplevelser av att under sin uppväxt ha fått tolka åt sina föräldrar

The purpose of this study was to within a Swedish context and from five persons of foreign descent stories study how they have been affected by interpreting for their parents during their childhood and how this has affected the relationships within the family. Studies conducted in an American context have shown that children interpreting for their parents in everyday situations are prone to undertake roles similar of a family leader. Previous studies also show an increased danger of depression among children who interpreted for their parents. The study was conducted by the use of semi-structured interviews with five male respondents with a varying ethnic background. Using Antonovsky´s theoretical formulation ?sense of coherence? we were able to determine that although our respondents during their childhood were subjected to a large amount of stressful elements they also maintained a high sense of well-being.

This essay studies the concept of "livspusslet", a term in swedish that directly translates as "the jigsaw puzzle of life". In recent public debate it has been used to articulate issues concerning the combination of family life and a professional career. The empirical material consists of newspaper articles from nationwide daily newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet between 2009 and 2011. The concept of "livspusslet" relates to the debate about family values, gender equality and the public view on the issue of combining family life with a career. The widespread use of the concept indicates that the social practices surrounding the debate over family policy is shifting.

En ny generation livsnjutare -En studie om hur inredningsbranschen kommunicerar till rekordgenerationen

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur inredningsbranschen, genom IKEA som fallföretag, skulle kunna utveckla sin kommunikation för att ta till vara den potential och köpkraft som tros finnas inom rekordgenerationen. Rekordgenerationen är ett segment som har tid och pengar. Inredning är i sin tur produkter, för rekordgenerationen, som konsumeras i syfte att påvisa en identitet som är en del i den moderna och materiella utvecklingen. Vår undersökning visar att IKEA missar ett stort och köpkraftigt segment och en av anledningarna är bristande kommunikation. Genom att använda sig av marknads-kommunikation som vänder sig till rekordgenerationen och matchar deras preferenser kommer företaget att kunna ta tillvara den potential som segmentet besitter..

Placing children in foster care is today considered the best alternative for children unable to stay in their biological environment. A nuclear family consisting of a father, a mother and a child is the most common family structure within foster care today. The purpose of this thesis is to gain insight on the family norms that control the foster care system. It's a qualitative study based on interviews with six professional social workers within the field of foster care. This method gave us empirical material, that was later analyzed from two main theories and one theoretical concept.

It takes a new way to think to solve the problems we created by the old way to think ? Social welfare secretaries thoughts about family-placement on institution

The purpose with this essay is to take part of the process when a family is placed on the family-institution, Trollbacken. We want to know what makes the social welfare secretaries place a family in institutional care. Has Trollbacken lived up to the social welfare secretary expectations and are the social welfare secretaries following Trollbackens recommendation regarding the follow up treatment. We also want to know to what value the social welfare secretary assigns Trollbackens investigation and are they able to see changes in the family due to the placing on Trollbacken. The method is qualitative and is based on interviews from six social welfare secretaries that work around and in West Sweden.

Förväntningar på västerländska, globala detaljhandelsföretag - en studie av kinesiska kvinnors förväntningar på IKEA

Studiens syfte är att skapa förståelse för kinesiska kvinnors förväntningar på ett globalt, västerländskt detaljhandelsföretag. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med kinesiska kvinnor i Shanghai, Kina. Studien bygger på centrala begrepp inom forskningsområdena kundnöjdhet och förväntningar. Dessutom används teorier om konsumentbeteende generellt, såväl som teorier om kinesiskt konsumentbeteende och kinesiska kvinnors konsumentbeteende. Ett antal preliminära hypoteser utvecklas ur ovan beskrivna teoretiska perspektiv och används som studiens analysverktyg.

The purpose of this thesis is to see how small differences in a store can affect the customer behavior. The changes consist of auditory and visual sensory cues. Since many companies today makes a lot of changes in their styling element, but without knowing how it really affects the customer behavior we thought it would be interesting to see by doing an experiment at IKEA. The study is therefore based on a quantitative research method, where theories have been described and from which hypotheses have been derived to test the theories. The experience took place at IKEA during two weeks where 5732 observations were made.The result from the experiment is that the sensory cue sight makes individuals spend more time in the environment but not creating attention.

Our theoretical starting points are about how school, family, work, individualization, media and lifestyle effect youths mental health. This paper is based on three deep interviews and former reports. The result show how individualization in the community cause insecurity and the family band are breaking up more than before. Youth?s health effects negative by the ability to not get a job.

Hur påverkas ens uppväxt och vuxenliv av att man växt upp i ett familjehem? : en kvalitativ intervjustudie där fyra vuxna tidigare familjehemsplacerade reflekterar över de erfarenheter och upplevelser placeringen medfört

The purpose of this study was to give a picture of how some adults, who earlier was placed in foster homecare, experience that their childhood have affected them during their life. I also wanted to see how the relationship to the biological family has been and developed during the placement. The study has also purposed to receive a deeper knowledge of how it could be to grow up in foster care. To make the purpose of this study complete I chose to use qualitative interviews as a research method. Four adults who earlier were placed in foster homecare have participated in this study.

Optimering av ett kösystem på IKEA Kungens Kurva

Detta arbete har undersökt hur många betjäningsstationer avdelningen Byten och Återköp på IKEA Kungens Kurva behöver för att nå en förväntad kötid inom nio minuter.  Arbetet är uppdelat i en kvantitativ del samt en kvalitativ del.Den kvantitativa delen av arbetet besvarade den matematiska frågeställningen där kön var modellerad enligt ett M|M|c-­?system med Poissonfördelade ankomstintensiteter samt exponentialfördelade betjäningsintensiteter.  Resultatet var baserat på data från januari 2015.  I första hand reglerades antal betjäningsstationer för att nå en förväntad kötid under nio minuter.  I andra hand reglerades betjäningsintensiteten, om kötiden ännu inte uppnåtts.  Den kvalitativa delen av arbetet baserades på ett teoretiskt ramverk gällande Customer Relationship Management samt intervjuer med Avdelningschefen och Kundrelationschefen på IKEA Kungens Kurva.  Arbetets slutsats baserades på resultat från både den kvantitativa och den kvalitativa delen av arbetet.Det matematiska resultatet presenterar antalet öppna betjäningsstationer som krävdes timme för timme under vardagar respektive helger för att nå en förväntad kötid under nio minuter.  Slutsatsen är att i de fall där den förväntade kötiden var strax över nio minuter kommer detta inte påverka kundrelationen, så länge en god betjäning ges, medan det matematiska resultatet bör tillämpas om den förväntade kötiden är långt över nio minuter. .
