Tuberculosis is one of many infectious diseases in the world and is responsible for a large number of human deaths each year. The cause is Mycobacterium ssp included in the tuberculosis-complex, there among Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Infection with M. bovis causes bovine tuberculosis in cattle which in 90 % has a pulmonary location. Humans are infected mainly by milk from infected cows but also by close contact with coughing animals or by eating raw meat.

In order to facilitate testing of anesthesia machines a patient simulator has been required by Maquet Critical Care AB. A patient simulator has been developed to reduce expensive and time consuming animal experiments and temporary lab arrangements. The patient simulator has been developed and designed to simulate human lungs with regards to anesthetic uptake, production of carbon dioxide and heating and moisturizing exhaled air.The system comprises a container and a test lung to simulate the volume and the dynamic of the human lung. The simulation of uptake of anesthetics has been implemented by pumping a fraction of the gas from the container through a bypass circuit with an active charcoal filter that adsorbs volatile anesthetics. The flow through the bypass circuit is generated by a pump and is controlled by a linear valve.The resulting performance of the patient simulator has fulfilled the requirements.

Bakgrund: Forskningen har visat att humor är ett socialt fenomen som kan ses som ett universellt språk. Den har visat sig påverka en rad faktorer positivt, däribland vårdmiljön, relationen mellan sjuksköterska och patient samt patientens hälsa. Humor är inte enbart positivt i en vårdkontext, däremot finns det tillfällen då den bör undvikas.Syfte: Syftet är att belysa användandet av humor i mötet mellan sjuksköterska och patient.Metod: Examensarbetet är en litteraturöversikt där tio vetenskapliga artiklar valts ut, skillnader och likheter har identifierats och slutligen sammanställts.Resultat: Resultatet består av tre huvudteman: Humorns inverkan på avdelningens vårdatmosfär, interaktion mellan sjuksköterska och patient samt humorns effekter. Under huvudtemat interaktion mellan sjuksköterska och patient hittades två underkategorier: kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och patient samt förlorade tillfällen till humor. I huvudtemat humorns effekter hittades underkategorierna: humor som strategi samt humor som lindring.Diskussion: I resultatdiskussionen följer en diskussion där resultatet implementeras i Travelbees omvårdnadsteori, Human-to-Human Relationship Theory, men också hur ny forskning förhåller sig till resultatet.

The Library of Uppsala University has decided to change their classification system from the Swedish SAB system to the American Dewey Decimal Classification. One of the main reasons for this decison was that Kungliga biblioteket also has made an exchange between these systems. Due to that, the national bibliography of Sweden classifies Swedish documents according to Dewey Decimal Classification and the SAB system is no longer maintained. A transition to Dewey Decimal Classification will enable Swedish librarians to import foreign catalouge posts and classification codes and will provide them with a common standard between their libraries and other libraries due to the use of the same international classification system. It is disputed whether the Dewey Decimal Classification is equally suitable for all subjects.

Våra empiriska data har vi erhållit genom kvalitativa intervjuer med utvalda respondenter.Teori Vi har valt att beröra området för organisationskultur såväl som Strategisk Human Resource Management (SHRM). I vår studie har vi belyst hur organisationers ledare kan tillämpa SHRM för att skapa en harmoniserad organisationskultur. This literature study concerned the use and function of the radioactive isotope carbon-14, as a dating method of organic material, within the scientific field of physical geography. In this report it is presented the need of atmospheric calibration curves and the development of these as a necessity to translate carbon-14 years to calibrated calendar years. A number of common age-depth models that is used to give an approximation of an accumulation sequence and its related dates over the actual time period in different natural archives is presented and discussed. Different problems that commonly occur when age-depth models are utilized as for instance reservoir effects, contaminations or other age deviations are addressed and analyzed. The software CLAM in presented and discussed and was also used to produce age-depth models.

Studiens syfte var att beskriva det misshandlade barnets upplevelse av sin vardag och erfarenhet av möten med vården. Metoden som användes var kvalitativ narrativ analys. Fem patografiska autobiografier analyserades. There is convincing research which shows that the enzyme alkaline phosphatase (ALP) has a central role in the mineralization of bone, more precisely that its catalytic activity is needed in the process. ALP is found on the surface of matrix vesicles where the mineral is formed. One theory about the function of the enzyme is that it binds to fibrous collagen in the bone and thereby incorporating the mineral into the bone. The purpose of this study is to establish whether ALP binds to collagen. If this is the case, more elaborate studies around this will be performed.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the process and result of renovations in socioeconomic vulnerable areas affect the residents' right to housing; with a focus on women's experiences of their homes, their area, the housing company's apartment renovations. The study is conducted through two research questions: How do the women in L?vg?rdet experience their homes and the area? And how do the women in L?vg?rdet experience the process and the result of the renovations of the rental apartments? The methodology used is qualitative research interviews. The empirical material was gathered through qualitative interviews. Eight women living in L?vg?rdet have been interviewed.

The subject-matter of the following essay is to investigate the relationship between what is commonly called Deep Ecology or Biocentric Philosophy, as articulated by the co-founder of the Deep Ecology Movement, Arne Naess, and later proponents of the biocentric school of environmentalist thought. I contrast Naess? concept of Self-realization as founded in his Ecosophy T to the ideas of american conservationist and co-founder of the radical green movement Earth First! Dave Foreman, and to the controversial finnish environmentalist and ecofascist Pentti Linkola?s ideological agenda of population-reduction respectively.According to some critics of the movement, especially the social ecologist Murray Bookchin and French liberal philosopher Luc Ferry, the Deep Ecology ideology is essentially misanthropic and totalitarian in structure. A central idea among deep ecologists is that ecosystems and natural entities have intrinsic value in themselves, even outside a human social context. This idea is thought of among deep ecologists to create a philosophically sound basis for counteracting the environmental global crisis.
