Wounds on horses are common and sometimes difficult to treat. The wounds are often big and could be discovered too late for primary sutures, which have to be applied within 8 hours from time of accident, before bacteria has been able to infiltrate the surrounding tissue. The healing is often complicated by delayed healing and wound infection with consequences like phlegmone, fistulation and proud flesh formation.To avoid these consequences, the traditional practice has been to administer systemic antibiotics alone, systemic antibiotics in combination with topical antibiotics or topical antibiotics alone. Because few antibiotics can be used in horses, is it important to household with the few substances that are available. In veterinary medicine today, the increasing resistance amongst pathogenic microbes such as MRSA presents a growing problem.
Homestaging : Fenomenet & avdragsrätten
Around year 2004, a new service was introduced on the Swedish housing market with the purpose of increasing the sell price, namely homestaging. Homestaging means that a home gets in order before a open house, for example by removing personal affections or the leasing of new furniture. The phenomenon originates from the United States, where it has existed for several decades.Most components, but not all, that is included in the homestaging concept is tax-deductible and this has lead to several questions around the law and foremost within tax law. To elucidate this complexity of problems around the right to deduction for homestaging, the Swedish tax agency, Skatteverket, has formulated a letter stating the authority?s attitude towards the phenomenon.

Mellan åren 1965-1974 genomfördes ett unikt bostadsbyggnadsprojekt i Sveriges historia. För att lösa den dåvarande bostadsbristen beslöt Riksdagen att det under en tioårsperiod skulle byggas en miljon bostäder. Detta projekt kallas således för miljonprogrammet. Under årens gång har många kritiker gjort sig hörda då de kritiserat fenomenet på flera nivåer. Ord som segregation, visuell monotoni och storskalighet har använts i beskrivandet av miljonprogramsområdena.

The study aims to reduce energy consumption in apartment buildings where individual metering and charging of heat is applied. The aim is to develop planning and design for individual metering and charging in apartment buildings.The study is based on literature review, interviews and case study that include analysis of existing documents. Interviews were carried out with the property developer and the involved consultants who planned the apartment building Yasuragi. To investigate the differences the condominium association has noted in heat consumption between flats, the debit values of the heat were used to discern which houses that were furthest from the average consumption. On these flats there were temperature measurements and thermal photo shoots made for discriminating behavior and possible construction techniques which could be the explanation for the heat spread.Boverket shows that the consumption of heat can be reduced by 10-20% after insertion of individual metering and charging in an apartment block.
Comparison of three IVC systems for mice, with focus on growth and nest building in juvenile mice
Today the individual ventilated cage system (IVC-system) is the most commonly used system when housing rodents. IVC systems are designed to control both supply and exhausted air at cage level, as well as temperature and relative humidity in the cages. This creates an optimal environment for the mouse and at the same time a protection against the risk of cross-infection between cages and the outside environment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the health and welfare for two different strains of laboratory mice (NMRI nude mice and C57BL/6NCrl mice) in three different kinds of IVC-systems; Arrowmight, Allentown and Tecniplast. 108 mouse pups from each strain (in total 216 mice) were selected after weaning at an age of three weeks and tested during 5 weeks.

This report is the result of a thesis conducted at the consulting firm Bjerking AB andis the final part of the Bachelor Programme in Construction Engineering at Universityof Uppsala. The work aims to investigate the costs and how the choice of ventilationsystem affects building projects during a long-term period. This report covers costssuch as investment, maintenance and energy but also how they affect residents andbuilders. Building regulations for energy consumption are expected to be tougher;therefore a comparison of two different heat recovery ventilation systems(HRV-system) was made. One system is based on a centrally placed unit that coversthe whole buildings ventilation through vertical shafts.
Gröna tak i urban miljö - Fallstudie av Hyllie och Norra Djurgårdsstaden
Detta kandidatarbete undersöker gröna tak i urban miljö. Gröna tak är i denna
uppsats ett begrepp och samlingsnamn för vegetation på byggnaders tak i olika
former.
Trenden för gröna tak pekar uppåt, främst utomlands men även i Sverige. Emporia
i Malmö som är ett av Skandinaviens största köpcentrum är byggt med ett så
kallat grönt tak. Detta tak anlades dock på initiativ av byggherren och inte
efter kommunens beslut.
Huvudsyftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om och i så fall hur kommunen kan
planlägga gröna tak. Fördelar och nackdelar med det gröna taket kommer också
att utgöra en del av uppsatsen.

This bachelor thesis in Landscape Architecture is about the planning and design of public spaces in small towns in Sweden. My opinion is that the small towns often are overlooked and my determination is to see if that is right.
The purpose with this thesis in Landscape Architecture, with focus on a durable society is to find the central public places in small towns and evaluate their function. This thesis has a focus on good design of central public spaces, designed for the inhabitants of the small towns.
A small town, which is the focus of this thesis, is defined to have 200-2000 inhabitants. The small towns, which often are built around industries or the railway, have since the nineteen seventies a problem with people leaving them for the cities in the urbanization. Currently there is also the opposite trend with people moving out from the cities, but to live on the country side, not in the small towns.
Urban omvandling - ett levande och integrerat Lövholmen
Den tilltagande urbaniseringen har medfört att hamn- och industriområden som
tidigare låg i stadens perifera områden har fått en alltmer central plats. Från
att ha fungerat som industristäder där denna verksamhet varit en integrerad och
vital katalysator för staden håller samhället nu på att övergå från
industrisamhälle till kunskapssamhälle där arbetet förflyttats från förorenade
och bullriga industrimiljöer till rena och tysta bostads- och kontorsmiljöer. I
takt med detta minskar också behovet av centralt belägna industriområden som nu
blivit mer ödsliga, otrygga och stadsfrånvända där de inte sällan bildat en
barriär mot sin omgivning. Samtidigt är det idag för oss människor inte lika
självklart som tidigare genom historien att använda stadens offentliga rum och
det pågår mycket planering för att skapa integrerade, attraktiva och levande
stadsmiljöer vid stadsomvandlingar.
En problematik som uppstår är hur dessa industriområden kan omvandlas från
centrala men avskilda, ödsliga och ofta stadsfrånvända industrimiljöer till
funktionsblandade, attraktiva och levande stadsdelar som är väl integrerade med
sin omgivning.
Arbetets syfte är undersöka hur Lövholmen kan omvandlas från en avskild
industrimiljö till en funktionsblandad och levande stadsdel som är väl
integrerad i sin omgivning.
Miljonprogrammets Rosengård: den avbildade verkligheten
The purpose of this thesis is to cast light on the residential area Rosengård in Malmö which during the years between 1965 to 1975 was part of a programme known as "Miljonprogrammet", a project which was supposed to put an end to the housing shortages. The purpose of this thesis is also to investigate the social consequences in Rosengård, which arose as a result of Miljonprogrammet. Rosengård is one of many immigrant-dense suburbs in Sweden that by the media is given an exaggerated negative portrayal. Through our work, we also want to bring out and highlight the true image of Rosengård. The questions that have served as our starting ground include; what were the thoughts behind Miljonprogrammet? What were the consequences of Miljonprogrammet? What does the true image of Rosengård look like? What can the new government do in order to improve the situation in Rosengård? In order to answer these questions, four interviews were conducted with specifically chosen people.

The aim of this study is to investigate which communication strategies and channels the mu- nicipal company Falu Energi & Vatten should use in order to become more efficient in com- municating with citizens between 18 to 29 years old. The company is owned by the munici- pality of Falun and manages community services in electricity, district heating, fresh water, sewerage, metropolitan area network and waste disposal. The following theories have been used in the study: convergence culture, digital natives, information overload, communication strategies and uses & gratifications theory. The methods used in the study are 4 focus group interviews and one informant interview. The members of the focus groups where within the age range 18-29 years and lived in the city of Falun.

I dagens globala värld med sammanlänkade ekonomierär risken stor att en kris som uppstår i ett land fortplantar sig och drabbar andra länder, dock såkan samma kris påverka olika länder olika mycket. En intressant frågeställning är vilka faktorersom påverkar fastighetspriserna under dessa kriser, samt hur och vad som gör attpriserna återhämtar sig efter en kris. Denna uppsats studerar fastighets- och finanskriser med fokuspå Sverige och Spanien.Sverige genomgick en stor kris på 90-talet där fastighetspriserna rasade. Under samma tidsperiodökade bestånd, samt priser av fastigheter i Spanien.
