Abstract This essay is about the visibility of everyday life in a nursing home. The thesis is based on the following questions: What characterizes the social life and conversation between staff and residents? What content has the social life and the conversation between these parties? What is the power relationship between the staff and residents? To answer these questions, we used the qualitative approach with open observations, along with interviews. The study is partly based on direct observation by an observer as a participant in a special housing, and on semi-structured interviews with seven respondents, three of them staff and four residents in the same nursing home. For the results and analysis section, we use the Grounded Theory as a method which constructs a parallel between data processing and analysis of the interviews, where we first encode, categorize and create themes.

Introduction: Parental involvement is becoming increasingly common in the paediatric health care. Parental participation at home means that parents receive instruction by nursing staff in order to perform a caregiving procedure at home.Aim: To explore parents' feelings about performing caregiving procedures on their child at home, and their experience of instruction about these, and to explore nurses? experiences of their instruction to parents.Method: A descriptive quantitative and qualitative design using questionnaires with statements to be responded by nurses and parents according to scales graded 1-10. The study was carried out during the autumn of 2009 at a pediatric unit in the University Hospital in Uppsala.Results: Ten completed questionnaires from the nursing staff and ten from parents were obtained. The mean assessment of parents' perceived safety and security, and their perception that their questions had been answered ranged between 8,6 and 9,2.

Because of this, the number of delegations per nurse is often unacceptably high.Aim. The aim of this study was to describe the public health nurses´ experience in drugs delegation to home care staff in home care.Method. Vad finns det för grundstenar inom den amerikanska odlingsterapin och hur används dessa i det odlingsterapeutiska programmet på North Carolinas Botaniska Trädgård? Jag ville få reda på svaren och bestämde mig för att åka över Atlanten och göra en fallstudie om NC Botaniska Terapiträdgård. Väl framme upptäckte jag genom litteraturen och människorna insatta i ämnet att det fanns ytterligare en designmetod som heter Universal Design inom den amerikanska odlingsterapin som jag inte kände till sedan tidigare. Resultatet av litteraturen och mitt platsbesök visar att det finns ett antal grundstenar inom den amerikanska odlingsterapin och Universal Design som används på det odlingsterapeutiska programmet på NC Botaniska Trädgårdar. Grundstenarna är följande: Tillgänglighet, Tydlighet, Variation och Utveckling och dessa påverkar designen av NC Botaniska Trädgårdens nya terapiträdgård. Lyckebo farm is the original name of the four building big farm, where year 2000, the former farmer established Maglarp/ Lyckebo golfcourse on his land of culture. In 2007, new owners are approaching the Maglarps golfcourse with thoughts of expanding the business. A first step in that direction is to form the area of the entrance, the specific area the visitors are staying at before entering the actual golfcourse to play. The designproposal is inspired by the peasant garden history of southern Sweden during the nineteenth centuary. It also aims to satisfy the demands of function and usefullness of a golfcourse today.

Denna uppsats har skrivits som en del i de studier i krigsvetenskap jag erhållit under yrkesofficersprogrammet.     Syftet med detta arbete är att ta fram faktorer som påverkar luftburna förband, vad gäller deras förmåga till rörlighet på marken. Detta för att ge en ökad förståelse samt bidra till utveckling av reglemente för luftburen bataljon.Den metod som används i uppsatsen är komparation med litteraturstudier som presenteras i deskriptiv form. Den teknik som används för insamling är litteratursökning. Två frågeställningar har behandlats; Vilka faktorer påverkar den grundläggande förmågan rörlighet hos luftburna förband? samt vad säger styrdokumenten om förmågan rörlighet vid luftburen bataljon i Försvarsmakten idag?Utifrån mina gjorda litteraturstudier av Operation Market Garden samt styrdokumenten för luftburen bataljon har jag fått fram att följande faktorer påverkar rörligheten vid luftburna förband: ledning (formering av förband, samordning), verkan (direkt, indirekt, pansarvärnsvapen) underrättelser, skydd, materiel/utrustning samt underhåll..

Syftet med vår studie var att studera trädgårdsterapins roll i människors tillfrisknande från stressrelaterad ohälsa. Studiens frågeställningar var: (1) vilka faktorer beskrivs som stressreducerande i natur och trädgård? (2) på vilket sätt kan personer med stressrelaterad ohälsa bli hjälpta genom trädgårdsterapi? För att besvara våra frågeställningar användes en kvalitativ metod med hjälp av en kunskapsöversikt. Våra analysverktyg har varit KASAM och Coping.Slutsatsen av studien är att trädgård och natur kan stärka återhämtningsprocessen för människor med stressrelaterad ohälsa. Trädgård och natur kan bidra med stressreducerande faktorer som gör att återhämtningen påskyndas och stärks, såsom att hitta lugn, känna trygghet och få utrymme för reflektion.

This essay is a qualitative study on quasimarkets in the field of home-help service. The main purpose of the study was to describe and analyze the function of costumers choice from elderly persons point of view. The quasimarket in home-help service of Solna stad has served as an example. The questions raised in the study concerned the elderly costumers opinion of the information about the different producers, what had influence on their choice, their attitude towards the freedom of choice, and their ability to act as consumers on a quasimarket.The method used was qualitative semi structured interviews. A majority of the elderly consumers appreciated the possibility to choose producer of home-help service.

This thesis has been written within the research project ?Tillfälligt Uppbrott?, which concerns youths who have run away or been thrown out of their homes. The project is based on a na-tional poll among more than 3000 high school students. Our purpose has been to study youths who have left home and their own experiences. We have looked at all the question-naires in which the youths stated they had left home and focused on their answers to five open questions.

According to the Swedish preschool policy documents all children should have the same opportunities to develop their early language skills regardless of their social background. The purpose of this study is to investigate how preschool teachers work with children's early literacy and language development with focus on reading aloud. The reason is to investigate how the preschool teachers work to create an environment that stimulates children's literacy and language development. Another intention is to study how often reading aloud occurs in the children's home environment and what the preschool teachers thoughts are about that. The study is based on interviews with four preschool teachers and surveys that were answered by parents.

The purpose of this study was to assess which basic principles collide when home care service users have requests about how their help is going to be performed. The requests involve gender and ethnicity of the personnel. The study is based on the experiences and reflections of the managers regarding this issue.As the study is focused on the reflections of the managers, I have used a qualitative research method based on interviews. I have also used two case examples as a compliment (vignettes).I was interested to explore how the managers reasoned and argued about gender and ethnicity of the personnel, and their importance in home care situations. I have investigated whether it is considered to be appropriate that the service users chose if a man or a woman helps them in intimate situations (such as showers), and if they are entitled to refuse to receive home care services from people with a different ethnic background.

Our client is Fredriksdal?s Museums and Gardens in Helsingborg who are planning to establish a moss garden. The information is meant to be used by Fredriksdal and other similar facilities.

A home for elderly is planed to be built at Zakrisdal, Karlstad, Sweden. The heat source for the building was at the time not determined. In order by the local government of Karlstad this report is meant to examine if the need of heat could be provided only by solar heat combined with a seasonal heat storage. The problem to solve is, if the need of heat from the home for elderly is provided from only solar heat, whitch dimensions of the solar collectors and the storage is needed?.
