Given that the oil prices have risen and the environmental regulations has become more stringent, the interest in operating efficiency has increased. The project has investigated the possibility of producing electricity from waste heat generated in the diesel process. One technique to utilize and convert energy into electricity is the ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle). This process is based on the Rankine process (the steam process), the difference from the traditional Rankine process is that instead of water as a working medium, an organic substance is used. The main component used in the process is a evaporator, a turbine, a condenser and a pump.

Visby is a city that at first glance is of medieval origins. The popular image of scientists today is that the city was formed in the Middle Ages. According to some of the researchers Visby was formed during the Viking Age, it is based on the basis that the area has been used for a long period. Urban development in the Nordic countries is complex and there are different opinions as to why the Nordic cities emerge. It is important to shed light on the underlying process on why cities are emerging to provide clarity as to why Visby city is emerging.

Lärande är nödvändigt för att organisationer ska kunna utvecklas och förbättras. Tidigare forskning har studerat organisatoriskt lärande ur flera olika aspekter, bland annat som ett utvecklingsinriktat respektive anpassningsinriktat lärande. Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva de mekanismer som påverkar lärandet i en organisation. Den organisationen som studerats är en hemtjänstgrupp som börjat arbeta enligt Vanguardmetoden. Datainsamlingen skedde med intervjuer, totalt intervjuades elva personer i hemtjänstgruppen.

This research outlines studies about the relationship between social integration process of Japanese immigrants in Sweden and how social media assists in this process. The purpose of this research includes: To find out the reasons of migration to Sweden for six Japanese immigrants, any difficulties that they faced at the beginning of their immigration process and/or any positive qualities that they found in living in Sweden, whether they have accessed social media since they have moved in, if they do so, how the social media has been used and also, whether the social media has had a role to play in contributing to help their social integration process. In addition, it has been considered whether the participants have plans to return to Japan. In Sweden, there is relatively small Japanese migrant population. This social science research paper is the first in Sweden which explores the immigration process of Japanese migrants into Sweden.

One of the more hopeful signs in the Middle East-conflict during the 20th century was president Sadat´s visit to Jerusalem in November 1977. His speech in Knesset arose deep feelings, from open hostility to careful optimism and belief in the future. During nearly one and a half year Egyptian and Israeli delegations negotiated. They came to a peace-agreement, the Camp David-Accords, under the guidance of the United States. The main-actors during the peace- negotiations were President Sadat, Prime Minister Begin and President Carter.

In this study we have analysed from an intersectional perspective two textbooks Historia 1b and Progress Gold A which are purposed to be used as teaching material in Swedish schools in the subjects of History and English. Our question and reason for doing the analysis is to emphasise and make the variety of women in the books visible in order to compare that variety to the one that is demanded by the Swedish curriculum. The analysis is made from an ideology critical perspective and contains quantitative elements. Our conclusion is that the material contains both excluding and including features. Some intersectional categories are well represented while others, like functionality and religion, are not.

Centrum för invandrarforskning vid Stockholm universitet (CEIFO) genomförde 1997 en studie om svenska skolelevers förhållande till rasism och demokrati. Resultatet visade att endast 66 procent av respondenterna var säkra på att Förintelsen av judarna hade ägt rum. Med detta som grund bildade man forumet, Levande historia, i syfte om att bevara minnet av Förintelsen. Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka skolelevers attityder gentemot Förintelsen och hur de förhåller sig till händelsen ur ett empatiskt och moraliskt perspektiv. Undersökningen genomfördes med hjälp av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning som delades ut till 40st årskurs tre elever på gymnasiet.

Denna uppsats handlar om att använda bild som uttrycksform i teoretisk undervisning. Syftet var att undersöka hur pedagoger i skolår 1-6 använder bild som uttrycksform i ämnena historia och matematik. Vi var intresserade av att försöka urskilja vilka förhållningssätt till bild som uttrycksform, som kunde förekomma på vår observationsskola. Uppsatsen bygger på, förutom litteraturstudier, en undersökning utifrån metoderna kvalitativ observationsanalys och strukturerad intervju. Resultatet presenterar vi i en redogörelse, där bild och text jämställs som betydelsebärande komponenter.

The purpose of this essay is to analyse how the leadership and the structure of the organization affect the process of changes within a specific department in Lunds kommun socialdepartment, from the director of social work to the co-workers at Utredningsenheten för ungdom och familj. We aim to answer the following questions;How does the structure of organisation affect the process of change?What do the co-workers and the leaders believe is the best way to engage the co-workers in the change?How does the leaders view their own leadership in the process of change?How does the co-workers view the leadership in the process of change?How does the leadership affect the process of change?To develop an organisation and to make it a functional, change is a necessity. The leaders are they who create the change but the co-workers are they who make it happen. In the process of change, leadership and the leaders capacity to create motivation for the co-workers, is therefore a matter that is decisive to its success.This is a study based on a qualitative method, where the interview is the main source of empirical material.

Examensarbetet ägnas hur historien förmedlas i tre utgåvor av läroboken Levande historia. Jag frågar mig på vilket sätt en lärobok i ämnet historia kan upplevas tendentiös/partisk/vinklad etc och vad som möjligen skulle kunna stå för motsatsen. Vilka skillnader i formuleringar, disponeringar och urval kan motiveras av gällande kurs- och läroplan och vilka kan det inte? Ämnet kan försvaras mot bakgrund av den kunskapssyn som kommer till uttryck i skolans läroplan. Här balanseras kravet på lärobokens objektivitet mot ett krav på elevens kritiska tänkande.

This thesis at the Institute for Language and Folklore has as its purpose to lay a foundation for a continuinginventory work. The tasks I have performed during my time there was to create an archival description, anintroduction to the material and a process map showing the process of incoming delivery of documents. The aimwas never to finish the list of work, but to structure the material to get an insight into the material and to theproblems that existed within. The documents are of a very unique nature and require that the archivist is familiarwith and have knowledge of sign language. One of the problems I encountered was how fragmented the materialwas.

Sverige står idag inför en omstrukturering av arbetsmarknaden, bland annat för att de tidigare storföretagen, som mycket av svensk tillväxt och sysselsättning berott av, nu i större utsträckning läggs ner eller flyttar utomland. En sådan omstrukturering innebär i sin tur att allt större vikt och tilltro sätts till att småföretag ska bära den svenska ekonomiska tillväxten och sysselsättningen. Invandrare utgör en stor del av småföretagarna och det är dem som ligger i fokus i detta arbete när jag studerar riksdag och regerings syn på invandrarföretagare. Debatten kring ?invandrarföretag? har karakteriserats av såväl positiva som negativa förklaringsmodeller.

Krypteringens historia är lång och händelserik, vilket ett system som Ceasarchiffer som snart är 2000 år gammalt kan vittna om. Den här litteraturstudien syftar till att ta dig som läsare med genom krypteringens utveckling från antikens pergament till dagens datoriserade samhälle. På vägen genom historien har studien som målsättning att förklara för läsaren hur de olika krypteringssystemen som figurerat genom tiden har fungerat, och att lyfta fram matematik bakom systemen. Mot slutet av texten beskrivs dessutom hur kryptering skulle kunna fungera som inslag i skolans matematikundervisning. Här är syftet att inspirera lärare till att pröva på något nytt i sin undervisning, vilket kan leda till ökad motivation.

The aim of this project was for me to write two complete songs and to get to know my creative process better. I wrote two songs, made musical arrangements for them, transcribed the music in Sibelius, rehearsed the material with two musicians and at last recorded it in a studio. Throughout this I kept track of my own creative process. The project resulted in two complete songs with arrangement. I learned that I have some difficulty handling adversities in my songwriting, and that it was not so easy to get to know my own creative process as I thought.

Med utgångspunkt i den postkoloniala teoribildningen granskar denna uppsats framställningarna av Asien i gymnasieskolans historieläroböcker för att undersöka hur läroböckerna upprätthåller eller motverkar de orientalistiska- och postkoloniala strukturer vilka beskriver Asien som underordnat väst samt identifierar hur dessa konstruktioner tar sig uttryck. Studien utgår från en ideologikritisk närläsningsstudie av fem läroböcker i historia. Samtliga studieobjekt är publicerade under år 2011 och 2012 inom ramen för den nya läroplanen, gymnasieskola 11, och kursen Historia1b. Analysen genomförs och presenteras via en analysmodell vilken innefattar rubrikerna andrafierande praktiker, över- och underordning, dikotomier och kulturell stratifikation.Resultatet visar att västerlandets hegemoni reproduceras genom i huvudsak eurocentriska diskurser där västerlandet överordnas österlandet eller där en eurocentrisk historieskrivning som berättar en selektiv historia förs i läroboken. Vidare kan av resultatet skönjas en kulturell stratifikation i vilken länder som anammat författningar av västerländska snitt och västerländska sedvänjor värderas högre än länder som inte gjort det.
