Inledning: Sömn är ett vanligt problem hos äldre patienter på sjukhus och äldreboenden.  Brist på sömn leder till ökad risk att drabbas av stroke och hjärt-kärlsjukdom samt att det ger en negativ påverkan på rehabilitering. Sömnläkemedel är idag den främsta behandlingen mot sömnproblem, vilka ger biverkningar som exempelvis sedation dagtid, yrsel, talsvårigheter och mardrömmar.   Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att sammanställa vetenskapliga artiklar om vilka icke-farmakologiska åtgärder mot sömnproblem som sjuksköterskan kan tillämpa i sin profession för att främja sömnen hos äldre patienter. Metod: En litteraturstudie där originalartiklar söktes i databaserna PubMed, Medline och Cinahl varav 16 originalartiklar granskades och sammanställdes. Resultat: Resultatet i denna litteraturstudie visar att det finns icke-farmakologiska åtgärder för att förbättra sömnen. Dessa är akupunktur, nya rutiner samt kognitiv beteendeterapi. Förbättringarna som kan ses efter utförda icke-farmakologiska åtgärder är bland annat kortare insomningstid, ökad sömnduration, färre uppvaknanden och bättre sömn. Patienterna beskriver en förbättrad upplevelse av den egna sömnen efter tillämpning av dessa åtgärder. Slutsats: Resultatet i denna litteraturstudie visar att det finns olika beprövade icke-farmakologiska åtgärder vilka har en positiv effekt på sömnen.

 The purpose with this thesis was to develop a designguideline which will simplify the development of new products that will be laser welded. The need for this thesis has come forward from the quality problems that Volvo Construction Equipment, Components Division is having with their laser welding manufacturing unit. The reason for the problems emerges from the bad communication between the development unit and the manufacturing unit within the company when the products produced today was developed. This resulted in products that were hard to and in some cases almost impossible to weld. To avoid these problems from occurring again it was needed to gather the experiences within this area and compile it and present in a brief a pedagogical manner. The information for the groundwork of our results has been gathered by interviews of several key persons in Volvo Construction Equipment, Components Division.

The debate on the future of Nuclear power in Sweden has increased with the discussion on global warming. The uncertainty of fossil fuel- and carbonprices the latest years has aroused considerable interest in Nuclear from power companies, industry and politicians. Nuclear power plants have negligible CO2 emissions and are not directly affected by increased price of emission rights and fossil fuels. The future power production needs to reduce its emissions of greenhouse gases to become sustainable. The purpose of this study is to examine the value for power producers to have the option to invest in Nuclear power and how a Nuclear power venture would affect future electricity prices. The study uses two methods, a traditional cash flow model and real option analysis, to estimate the value of Nuclear power.

Bakgrund: Ett grundläggande emotionellt behov hos människan är fysisk beröring, som vid vissa sjukdomstillstånd kan vara svåra att tillfredsställa inom vården. Effekten av beröringen gör att människan blir mer avslappnad, samma effekt kan en person få från fysisk beröring av sällskapsdjur. Djurassisterad terapi kan användas som en kompletteringsbehandling inom sjukvården.Syfte: Att beskriva vilka djurarter som används i djurassisterad terapi och på vilket sätt de kan användas i vården för rehabilitering och habilitering av patienter. Syftet var vidare att beskriva om det har effekt på hälsan och i så fall vilken effekt det har.Metod: Litteraturstudie med 11 utvalda artiklar från databaserna CINAHL, PubMed och Google scholar. Artiklarnas kvalitet granskades, resultaten analyserades och presenteras efter studiens frågeställningar.Huvudresultat: Flertalet djurarter kan användas för djurassisterad terapi vid både psykisk och fysisk ohälsa.

The purpose of this paper is to understand the climate of the street and how it can be modified to better meet the needs of the street and the user groups. At the same time the conditions of the street and its surroundings also has to be taken into account. To accomplish this it is necessary to have a broad knowledge of the climate conditions in the city. Therefore an overview of the climate elements and how these are modified in the built-up areas are given. The part of the paper which deals with the city climate has a global approach to be able to give an as complete picture as possible.

This masters thesis concerns a modeling project performed at Volvo Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The main purpose of the project has been to develop a physical model of the climate in construction vehicles that later on can be used in the development of an electronic climate controller. The focus of the work has been on one type of wheel loader and one type of excavator. The temperature inside the compartment has been set equal to the notion climate. With physical theories about air flow and heat transfer in respect, relations between the components in the climate unit and the compartment has been calculated.

This thesis examines the environmental benefits resulting from the choice of environmental certification scheme, with focus on energy. This was carried out by studying the measures that were implemented as a result of the certification of Sweco's three largest office buildings in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. The office property in Stockholm has been certified with the Swedish Environmental Building, Gothenburg with the British BREEAM and Malmö with the U.S system LEED.The results from the study indicate that an environmental certification can reduce the energy consumption by up to 59 percent and the water consumption by 20 to 66 percent. However; the interviews, literature study and simulations in MATLAB indicate that the size and scope of these environmental benefits depend on several identified factors: the type of building and its conditions, system selection, grade level, the choice of indicators, the ambition of those involved and when in time the certification process begins. The comparison between Environmental Building, LEED and BREEAM showed that Environmental Building for the office property in Stockholm gave the largest environmental benefit in terms of reduced energy consumption thanks to several large measures.

This thesis has been made in cooperation with the forestry machinery producerEco-Log in Söderhamn. The focus of the thesis has been to find a cheaper wayto open the large engine hood of the company?s harvesters. The goal was tofind a solution that could increase the value for the customers by being saferand simpler to use, or, at the least, keep these values at an equal level comparedto the previous solution.In order to make it possible to CE-mark the new solution, it was importantMachinery Directive that came into effect from the beginning of 2010.To begin with, a specification of requirements was set up. Thereafter, anumber of different basic concepts was retrieved and evaluated.

As for today, a large quantity of protein feeds is imported from other countries to be used in the Swedish dairy production. The main import is soya from Brazil. The soya-production in Brazil results in negative consequences for the natural environment in the area, and the long transport of the feeds requires a lot of energy. The organic dairy production in Sweden is, with the highest probability going to be forced to use 100 % organic feed to the cows in the year 2005, due to new EU-rules. These are some of the causes why there are reasons to look closer at the possibilities to feed Swedish cows with only Swedish feeds. In this study, I have looked at the KRAV-rules for organic feeding, where the goal is feeding with only KRAV-approved feeds.

This thesis consider alternatives for heating and cooling planned office buildings at Arlanda airport. The thesis is divided into three parts where the third part is a shorter synthesis of the two first. In the first part the energy demands of the buildings are modelled in a computer program. Two different building models are created, one more conventional and one with good energy properties. The results shows that with proper construction and ventilation systems etc.

Syftet var att beskriva anhörigvårdarens erfarenheter av palliativ vård av sin närstående i hemmet. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie. I studien ingick 10 vetenskapliga artiklar från åren 2002-2008. Samtliga var av kvalitativ ansats. Resultatet i studien delades upp i fyra teman: erfarenheter av kommunikation, hantera den nya situationen, känsla av otillräcklighet och meningsfullhet trots allt.

SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrundEpilepsi är en sjukdom som orsakas av elektroniska urladdningar i hjärnan. I Sverige finns cirka 50 000 personer med epilepsi vilket gör den till en av de vanligaste neurologiska sjukdomarna. Epilepsianfall varierar i antal från person till person. De vanligaste orsakerna till epilepsi hos vuxna är stroke, hjärntumör, demenssjukdomar och skalltrauma. Att få epilepsi innebär en stor påfrestning för de flesta drabbade individer och kan påverka det psykosociala livet på flera olika sätt.SyfteSyftet med arbetet var att beskriva hur det är att leva med epilepsi utifrån ett psykosocialt perspektiv.MetodMetoden var en litteraturöversikt.

Scana-Booforge is a Swedish company which specialize in heat treatment of various metal. The treatments take place in quenching ovens, where fans are used to circulate the hot air. The fans used today do not have a satisfactory lifespan. This thesis aims to develop a new design of the fans for the quenching ovens, and the goal is that the new fans will bring cost savings for Scana-Booforge.The design development process started with mapping out the environment in which the fans operate, and with analysis of the existing fan structure and damages, in order to establish the cause of failure and of short durability. The performance of the fan were also established at this stage.

Storage of biomass is associated with problems like heat development, biomasslosses, and reduction of the fuel quality. Certain processes such as biological- andchemical degradation are responsible for these storage problems. This master?sthesis was carried out at Vattenfall Research and Development AB and is alignedtowards quantifying the biomass losses from short-term storage (1-2 months) ofbark and recovered wood. The biomass was stored in outdoor piles during differentseasons, campaign 1 (summer) and campaign 2 (autumn).

This report is an outcome of a master degree project at Linköpings University in co-operation with Micronic Laser Systems AB. The purpose with this master degree project was to investigate how to implement a receiver in a data transfer system. The system consists of several data channels, where every channel consists of three parts: driver, transmission lines and receiver. The driver send low amplitude differential signals via the transmission lines to the receiver that amplifies and converts it to a single-ended signal. The receiver has to be fast and be able to feed an output signal with high voltage swing.
