Background: Nosocomial infections pose a big threat to patient safety and increased costs for society. An effective way of preventing cross-infections is to apply hygiene routines. Studies show that compliance to hygiene routines is low while there's a lack of knowledge about the best way of improving it. Aim: To investigate whether a conversation based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) could influence a nurse's compliance to hygiene routines and whether it could benefit the understanding of a nurse's compliance. Method: A quantitative and qualitative method was used in the study and included one nurse.

This report presents an independent thesis corresponding 15hp and was carried out on Högskolan in Halmstad during the spring of 2014. The thesis is the final course which ends a three-year mechanical engineering program with focus on technical design.The thesis started in an operation which electricians are exposed to every day. The operation in question is cable laying or wiring. The tool they use is called a tension spring and is a long and stiff wire, usually made out of nylon or fiberglass. The tension spring is fed through pipes in the walls and brings the desired cables with it on the way back.

In 1996 a hunting test for British gun dogs was started in Sweden, based on a similar one al-ready in place in Norway. The aim of the new test was to describe the hunting ability of the dog and to use the results as a basis for selection. However, up to now, no genetic study of these data has been done. Therefore the aim of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for the traits measured in the hunting test and to investigate whether the traits can summarized into fewer overall measures. Data from trails of British gundogs between 1996 and 2005 in Sweden were used to estimate genetic parameters and environmental effects in hunting performance. British gundogs consist of five different breeds: Pointer, English setter (ES), Gordon setter (GS), Irish red setter (Irl S) and Irish red and white setter.

 I takt med att IKT-utvecklingen accelererat i samhället har också kravet ökat på effektivt användande av IKT i skolan. Syftet med denna undersökning har därför varit att studera hur en kommun implementerar IKT-stöd i sin grundskoleverksamhet för att stötta pedagogerna i deras arbete med att utveckla elevernas digitala kompetens. Undersökningen har genomförts som en deskriptiv fallstudie i form av kvalitativa intervjuer med sex nyckelpersoner i organisationen. Den bild som tidigt framträdde var hur otroligt komplext IKT är i förhållande till skolans värld. Det finns många aktörer och intressenter på en arena som ständigt förändras av den nya teknikens växande framfart.

Sverige är ett mångkulturellt land. Den svenska skolan bör därför utformas på ett sätt som gör att alla oberoende av språklig- eller kulturell bakgrund kan förstå och tillgodogöra sig undervisningen. Elever med utländsk bakgrund klarar sig dock sämre i den svenska skolan än vad elever med svensk bakgrund gör.Uppsatsens syfte är att studera vilka moment, och varför just de upplevs vara svåra inom matematik och so-ämnena för elever med utländsk bakgrund. Vidare undersöks vem som har ansvar för att eleverna ska förstå och ha möjlighet att ta till sig undervisningen och hur gynnsamma förutsättningar kan skapas för eleverna i deras lärandeprocess.Arbetet bygger på en kvantitativ enkätstudie med 338 elever i skolåren 8-9 och en kvalitativ intervjustudie med tre lärare Det framkommer att en dubbelt så hög andel elever med utländsk bakgrund som elever med svensk bakgrund upplever de undersökta matematikmomenten vara svåra och att en dubbelt till nära sexdubbelt så hög andel elever med utländsk bakgrund som svensk bakgrund upplever att de undersökta so-momenten är svåra. Anledningarna till dessa resultat är huvudsakligen att språk och kunskapande går hand i hand, ämnena kräver ett stort ord- och begreppsförråd, god läsförståelse samt stora förkunskaper.Vidare visar studien att alla lärare har ansvar för elever med utländsk bakgrunds lärande men att huvudansvaret för elevernas språklärande ligger på svenska som andraspråksläraren och modersmålsläraren.

The aims of the present study were to implement and evaluate a three-session Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) stress management intervention in a non-clinical group of university students (N = 25) and to investigate the importance of practice in an ACT-intervention. A design with pre-test and double post-test was chosen. A comparison was made between a nine-hour ACT-intervention containing practice for the participants, a two-hour lecture on ACT and stress management containing no practice for the participants and a control group. Psychological flexibility was assessed with Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-2 and mindfulness was measured with Kentucky Inventory of Mindfulness Skills. Perceived stress level was measured with Perceived Stress Scale.

Bakgrunden till denna uppsats grundas i ett egenintresse i förvandlingen av stationshuset i Vara. Sedan jag genom mina föräldrar som bor kvar i orten, på tidig vår 2010 fick reda på att huset skulle bli korallrött har detta numer blåa konstverk retat mig. Detta kandidatarbete har gett mig möjligheten att på ett vetenskaplig sätt utröna bakomliggande orsaker till stationshusets förvandling till det Vara kallar, Sveriges största konstverk. Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda hur den estetiskt tilltalande utformningen av byggnader vilka klassas som konstverk bör regleras enligt Plan- och Bygglagen och vilken roll kulturell planering spelar i den estetiskt tilltalande utformningen av den offentliga miljön. Genom två olika typer av fallstudier har tre olika konstverksprojekt studerats och analyserats utifrån inventeringar, observationer, intervjuer och innehållsanalys om bland annat begreppen byggnad, estetik och konstverk. Problematiken i lagtextens definition av vad som är estetiskt tilltalande beror mestadels på att det är ett mycket svårdefinierat begrepp till skillnad från vad en byggnad och ett konstverk är.

This thesis investigates how crime prevention is represented with the aim of preventing and reducing youth crime in two crime prevention strategies for Croydon in England and Stockholm in Sweden for the period 2022-2026. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to increased knowledge and deeper understanding about how crime prevention is represented by prevailing discourse in policy documents against juvenile delinquency in Europe by conducting a comparative analysis. The study was conducted based on Carol Bacchi?s theory ?What?s the problem represented to be?. Three adapted questions from the WPR approach were translated to critically discourse-analytically examine two policy-oriented strategies against youth crime on local level in Croydon and Stockholm.

The aim of this study was to study how Swedish youth national football players handle stressful events in sports. A longitudinal questionnaire diary was constructed from a revised version of Nicholls and Polmans (2007) design with the intention of recording in-sport and psychosocial stress, choice of coping strategy and coping effectiveness. The participants were 59 Swedish youth national football players born 1992 observed during a four day national training camp held by the Swedish Football Association. Data were drawn from a quantifying analyzing method. The main result showed that the most common stressors reported were, physical injury or pain, experiencing teammates or opponents to perform better and feeling generally insecure during training camp.

Sexuellt överförda infektioner (STI) har ökat sedan mitten på 1990-talet, framförallt klamydia. Unga är en utsatt grupp i detta avseende och behovet av preventiva åtgärder är stort. Ungdomsmottagningar bland andra vårdinrättningar är en viktig kanal för de preventiva insatserna. Det finns dock inga nationella riktlinjer för hur samtal om STI ska gå till som vårdpersonalen på ungdomsmottagningarna kan följa. Forskningen om hur arbetet ser ut idag är även mycket begränsad.

AbstractTitle: The Swedish real estate companies choices of valuation within investment properties and its further effects on the qualitative characteristics of accounting.-A study of the Swedish real estate companies listed and non - listed on the stock market, after the application of the international rule board.Background and Problem: From January 2005, all companies, listed on a stock market within the European Union, are required to prepare their consolidated accounts using common set of International Accounting Standards, IAS/IFRS. In Sweden, this opportunity has also been given to non-listed companies, to voluntary implement these rules in their consolidated accounts. One difference between Swedish accounting rules and contemporary International rules, deals with the accounting treatment of investment properties, which foremost affects the real estate market?s accounts. In contrast to the Swedish Financial Accounting Standards Council?s recommendation RR 24, the new standard, IAS 40, permits a choice between different accounting alternatives.

The aim of this essay is to examine the attitudes towards publication of short stories, carried by the employees of Bokförlaget Forum, a randomly chosen Swedish publishing house. The study seeks to investigate the causes behind and consequences of the attitudes, as well as their generality. Through qualitative interviews, carried out with five of the company?s employees, the short story is defined as a problematic genre, mainly due to its low commercial success. The conclusions drawn from the interviews are put into a historical perspective, where the developments of the short story-genre, as well as that of the modern Swedish book market, are discussed.
