To become a successful athlete requires several different components in which one of themost significant is the ability to develop their own physical strenght. What weight exercises has the best transfer effects for skating?Participants in the study were 20 male senior hockey players from Div. II in the Västra Gö- talands Regionen in which all participants had at least 10 years of hockey experience.Test subjects had to perform a five-minute individual warm up followed by an opportunity to familiarize with the upcoming exercise. The first on-ice test was a 35 meters sprint test and the second test was an S-cornering agility test.

I detta examensarbete utförs en jämförelse av HSQ-balkar och VKR- pelare i hållfasthetsklass S355 respektive S460. I arbetet dimensioneras profiler anpassade efter studerade fiktiva konstruktioner och ställs emot varandra. Syftet är att optimera profilerna och effektivisera stålanvändningen. Förhoppningen är att en applicering av höghållfast stål i vanliga konstruktioner medför en reducerad stålmängd. Är minskningen tillräckligt stor bidrar denna i sin tur till en mindre miljöpåverkan samt kostnadseffektiva dimensioneringslösningar.Två olika byggnadsstommar utförda i stål med sträckgränsen 355 respektive 460 MPa undersöks.

Title: Creativity and blockings: Non-musicians? experiences of music making The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the ability of music-making can benefit from and/or be inhibited by extra-musical factors, such as one's own or other people's opinions, criticism, prejudice and values. An experiment was carried out, where 10 nonmusicians were instructed to solve a compositional problem (writing pieces of music to a picture) which had been expressed in two different ways, one of which (A) was intended to block creativity and the other (B) to facilitate the creative process. All subjects also had to answer a questionnaire, where their experiences in connection with the task and their attitudes towards music and composition were mapped. The result was that all subjects succeeded in composing one or more pieces of music, regardless of which instruction they had been given.

The thesis examines the nineteenth century German philosopher and philologist Friedrich Nietzsche?s early notion of how a word is generated in the process of perception. It does so by looking at the ?metaphorical transitions? Nietzsche talks about in the essay ?Über Wahrheit und Lu?ge im außermoralischen Sinne? (?On Truth and Lie in an Extra-MoralSense?). According to the relevant passage in ?On Truth and Lie?? an image is first created as a metaphor for a stimulus and a word is then created as a metaphor for the image.

X-rays are a potential risk for animal health care personnel. The present study will examine the risks for scattered radiation to the personnel, if no lead gloves are used when holding an animal during the x-ray examination. Furthermore, how the impact of the exposure values and body parts examined, affect the scattered dose to the hands of the holder. Also, the distance between the animal and the hand that holds it was evaluated to see the impact on scattered radiation exposure. Tested by a survey, to animal health care students, the frequency of the usage of lead gloves in Swedish animal hospitals was studied. According to the results from the analysis, animal health care personnel don't need to use lead gloves every time they hold an animal or a cassette during x-ray examinations.

It is delimited to young girls and women who are characterised to be, for example, ambitious, high performing, working too much and risks developing mental illnesses. In today?s society women are assumed to pursue their career alongside maintaining the main responsibility for the household and family.

Uppsatsen har för avsikt att undersöka hur den nypaganistiska, och i första hand nordamerikanska, rörelsen Church of All Worlds reagerar mot förändring och institutionalisering. För att förstå institutionaliseringsprocessens bakomliggande krafter och identifiera dess konsekvenser, är det övergripande syftet med uppsatsen att utifrån en fallstudie av Church of All Worlds undersöka hur organisationen under sina verksamhetsår förändrats i fråga om (1) förhållande till samhället, (2) ideologi, (3) organisatorisk struktur och (4) ledarskap. Utgångspunkten är att betrakta rörelsen som dels religiös och spirituell, dels organisatorisk och ekonomisk, varför uppsatsen lutar sin teoribildning mot både religions- och samhällsvetenskapen och mot organisationsteorin. Som samhälleliga samt organisatoriska faktorer till Church of All Worlds institutionalisering finner vi den postmoderna motreaktionen mot industrisamhällets missförhållanden samt kritiken mot existensen av den objektiva sanningen. Institutionaliseringens följder är emellertid att rörelsen slutligen upptas som en del av det sen-moderna samhällssystemet.

Fysisk aktivitet kan förebygga och minska åldersrelaterade fysiologiska och psykologiska förändringar. Effekterna av funktionell träning för äldre är dåligt studerat. I Sörmland pågår ett fallpreventionsprojekt som syftar till att halvera antalet höftfrakturer till år 2012. Studiens syfte var att undersöka om äldres balans, benstyrka och self-efficacy, en persons grad av självtillit att utföra en specifik aktivitet framgångsrikt, påverkades av att göra fem uppresningar från sittande till stående två gånger om dagen under fyra veckor. En intervention genomfördes med 23 deltagare på ett servicehus/äldreboende.

With the globalization, companies in the West chose to shift production to developing countries to cut down costs. This had a major impact when child labor and very poor working conditions in these factories were discovered and led many companies to take responsibility for their suppliers and the employees by adopting voluntary so-called Codes of Conduct.There is a subtle balance to enforce improvement of working conditions for employees at suppliers´ factories and to keep costs down. On the one hand, companies would like to conduct extensive audits at their suppliers to ensure code of conduct compliance and thus protect their legitimacy. On the other hand, audits are expensive so companies would like to minimize audits to keep costs down. Companies thus have to strike a delicate balance in relation to how many and what suppliers they choose to audit.

Syfte med studien är att undersöka hur representanter från elevhälsan, skolledningen samt förvaltningen tolkar elevhälsans uppdrag att arbeta hälsofrämjande och förebyggande. Utifrån syftet ställs frågorna, hur ser representanterna på begreppen hälsofrämjande och förebyggande arbete samt vilka tankar representanterna har kring hur det hälsofrämjande och förebyggande arbetet kan utformas i syfte att stödja alla elevers utveckling mot utbildningens mål. Kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts med tre representanter från elevhälsan samt en representant vardera från skolledning och förvaltning. Resultatet av studien visar att elevens fysiska och psykiska mående, helhetssyn och samverkan är viktiga aspekter då begreppet hälsofrämjande arbetet definieras. Viktiga begrepp som framkom i resultatet kring begreppet förebyggande arbete är tidiga insatser utifrån riskfaktorer för individen och gruppen, samt stärka individen och gruppen utifrån att dessa. Det lyfts även tankar om att förebyggande arbete även innefattar att stärka individen utifrån dess styrkor, men detta framkommer inte i lika stor utsträckning. Det finns många likheter kring hur det hälsofrämjande arbetet och det förebyggande arbetet kan utformas.

Within process or manufacturing industries, the production of goods and services or the products themselves may have negative side effects such as pollution. An important task for environmental policy is to control and limit these pollutions, for example via regulatory measures. Although, the efficiency of such measures vary greatly between different industries and an increasingly important task for environmental policy is then to encourage companies to engage in environmentally motivated innovation. Governments can utilize other measures than regulation to indirectly decrease pollution. This thesis aims to analyze such activities and how it affects the innovativeness of wastewater treatment, refrigeration and automobile manufacturing industries.

This report describes how the system may be exposed to oscillations and how this can lead to resonance. Resonance is a phenomenon that occurs when a system is affected by external periodic oscillations with frequencies close to the system's natural frequencies. Structures subjected to resonance can risk great damage and destruction, why resonance is something that is important to take into account when designing structures. Alternative ways to counteract resonance is to supply damping in the system. Damping means that the resonance decreases instead of letting the amplitude increase.The report discusses some examples on constructions that have experienced the effect of resonance.

Studien som har fallstudiekaraktär, vände sig till tre lärare, tre specialpedagoger samt 68 elever i olika årskurser. Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka upplevelse, motiv, målsättning och perspektiv på tyst läsning samt med hjälp av resultaten göra en jämförelse av den tysta läsningen mellan våra klasser för att se om funktionen var likvärdig. Studien har genomförts med hjälp av observationer av den tysta läsningen. Därefter genomfördes intervjuer med klasslärare och specialpedagoger på respektive skola samt utdelning av enkäter till de elever som vi tidigare studerat under våra observationstillfällen. Resultaten av studien visar att majoriteten av eleverna läser, i stor utsträckning under lässtunden, de tycker om tyst läsning och uppskattar sig själva som goda läsare.

The aim of this paper is to examine the youth library PUNKTmedis' work methods to adapt itself to the youth. Improved communication with this user group is the starting point for the new work methods. We have chosen to view the increased cooperation between the library and the youth as an adjustment to market demands. We have noticed the possible existence of an antagonism between on the one hand the traditional role of the public library of adult education and on the other hand an adjustment to the market demands. Adult education and the adjustment to market demands is seen as contributing to the image of PUNKTmedis.

Den moderna pedagogiken handlar om att ha en helhetssyn där fokus på inlärningssituationen inte enbart avser att en lärare med breda kunskaper, eller tillgång till fina läromedel innebär goda lärprocesser. Motivationen, miljön, individen, kunskapen är alla lika viktiga pedagogiska pusselbitar för att förmedla och befästa kunskap. I dagens gymnasieskola finns förutom de rent teoretiska programmen, vilka i sak är en förberedande utbildning för elever som ämnar läsa vidare vid universitetet också de yrkesförberedande programmen där målare, elektriker, snickare etc. erhåller en yrkesutbildning. Gymnasieskolans yrkesförberedande utbildningar har i första hand fokus på det efterkommande yrkeslivet, där huvuddelen av utbildningstiden består av karaktärsämnesundervisning.
