Background: Examinations with the intent to assess neurological functions and level of conciousness are common in neurocritical care, but the effect on the patient is not entirely researched.Aim: The purpose of this study was to describe the patient?s situation at the neurological wake-up test concerning the environment, nursing interventions and the possibility given the patient to become awake, and if these conditions affect the outcome of the wake-up test.Methods: A quantitative observational study took place at a neurocritical care unit, where 20 patients were observed from interruption of sedation to the neurological assessment, which was performed by a neurosurgeon or a specialized critical care registered nurse. Nursing interventions, environmental factors and physiological parameters were documented.Result: Twelve intervention varieties to control patients? physiological parameters were used. CPP > 80 mmHg was found in 90 % of observations.

It is important that the outdoor playground is stimulating and inviting.My goal is to examine if the outdoor environment plays any role in the development of children and their interest in nature. What kind of thoughts do teachers and parents have about outdoor play, and is there a developmental goal for the children as well as what role do the teachers play in reaching these goals. In my work I want to show how an outdoor environment should be formed to help educationally as well as be safe and not least of all fun to be in..

Vertical hydropower units has a rotating mass of up to 1000 tons. For the generator and turbine to work well the rotating system is required to be centered in relation to the surrounding structure. This is achieved by means of radial bearings. The dynamic characteristics of these bearings have a strong impact on the overall rotational dynamics of the total system and thus influence the vibrations in the unit. At Vattenfall Research & Development in Älvkarleby ongoing research is taking place on how the bearing parameters should be represented in the rotor dynamic calculations.

I uppsatsen undersöks hur 11 globala miljö och/eller etiskt märkta fonder har presterat i jämfö-relse med 17 konventionella fonder i det svenska premiepensionsutbudet genom tillämpning av utvalda finansiella prestationsmått. Detta med anledning av att miljö och/eller etiskt märkta fonder har haft en stor framväxt under det senaste decenniet och det finns därför en efterfrå-gan av att klargöra ifall en pensionssparare behöver göra avkall på den finansiella avkastningen vid val av miljö och/eller etiskt märkta fonder. En jämförelse av det statliga förvalsalternativet och 10 globala miljö och/eller etiskt märkta fonder har även gjorts för att undersöka skillnaden av att vara en aktiv respektive passiv premiepensionssparare då antalet som inte gör ett aktivt val är omkring 50 procent. Resultatet visar ingen statistisk signifikant skillnad med avseende på den riskjusterade avkastningen mellan fonder som är miljö och/eller etiskt märkta och fonder som inte tar hänsyn till dessa kriterier vilket överensstämmer med tidigare forskning. I jämfö-relsen mellan det statliga förvalsalternativet och 10 globala miljö och/eller etiskt märkta fonder har det förstnämnda presterat på en hög nivå..

Hemoplus® (Sarstedt, Nümbrecht, Tyskland) is a guaiac-based fecal occult blood test developed for human medicine. Guaiac-based tests make use of the pseudoperoxidase activity of hemoglobin so the test is not specific for human hemoglobin and can therefore be used in veterinary medicine. Peroxidase-containing foods such as meat (hemoglobin and myoglobin) can cause false-positive results of the test. To ensure that a positive result is not caused by diet, it has been suggested that canine patients should be fed a meatless diet for a few days prior to fecal occult blood testing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of commercial dog food on guaiac-based tests. In this study fecal samples from healthy dogs were analyzed with Hemoplus®.

The main aim of this research was to investigate four humour styles, affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating humour, and compare these with emotional perception. Forty-eight persons took part in the research, 27 women and 21 men living in the southern part of Sweden. Two humour tests were used: the Humour Scale Questionnaire ? HSQ, with 32 items, and a newly composed video test, assembled after pilot testing from 26 video clips, the Humour Video Questionnaire ? HVQ. To measure perception and interpretation of emotion, the revised version of the ?Reading the Mind in the Eyes? Test was used.

When harvesteing ley there is always mechanical losses from the harvest machines. During the last years the roundbalers with knives,cutting the material-are more common, This use increase the mechanical losses of material. MATERIALS AND METHODS The roundbaler which used in this test was a Krone Vario Pack 1500 Multi Cut. This roundbaler has 17 knives. The theoretical length of cut was 64 mm. During the test we stretched a rubber tarp under the balechamber and collected the materials which fell down from the balechamber.

An investigation of the heat impact of laser cutting on the material properties when producing tensile and impact test specimens of different steel types of varying thickness has been performed. The purpose of the thesis project was to provide recommendations regarding how much material that needs to be milled from the laser cut edge before tensile and impact tests. The study has been performed partly by investigating the test specimens by heat camera when the specimens were cut in the laser cutting line and partly by performing hardness tests, investigation by microscopy, and tolerance and roughness measurements and tensile tests of the laser cut material and material produced in the traditional multi operation machine. The results show that the heat affected zone in the thicker materials is greater than previously thought of, and that the currently used recommendation has to be adjusted. The study clearly shows that the thicker the material, the greater the heat affected zone, independently of the steel type, since the thicker material takes longer time to cut.

The purpose of this work is to design and construct a device able to measure the mechanical attrition of oxygen carrier particles. Those particles are used in chemical looping combustion and in the present situation there is a lack of knowledge in how the attrition process work and in which extension. To find already tested solutions trying to answering this problem a literature study wascarried out and the best solution found was the so called Grace-Davison Jet-Cup method. This method is supposed to emulate the attrition caused by a cyclone separator and its advantages are that it is possible to use small test amounts, 5-10 g, and a thirty minutes long test will be enough to acquire useable results. An device was designed based on the Jet-Cup method with some slight modifications.

Antalet kretskort som monteras i multikortssystem, till exempel telekommunikationssystem, ökar ständigt. Samtidigt som ytmonteringstekniken och packningstekniken blir allt bättre utvecklas även tillverkningsmetoderna för olika integrerade komponenter, vilket medför att varje kretskort rymmer allt fler integrerade komponenter. Detta gör att testning av integrerade komponenter och multikortsystem blir alltmer komplex. En förutsättning för att kunna genomföra effektiv testning är standarder. Standarder över hur testning ska genomföras medför att en komponent som uppfyller kraven från en standard är direkt utbytbar mot en komponent från en annan tillverkare som uppfyller kraven från samma standard.

An automatic control system for calibration of pressure indicators has been constructed. This control system can be used as a complement to the calibration system located at AerotechTelub, division MainPartner, in Linköping. The calibration system used today contains some not wanted pressure changes, which is compensated by hand today. The new system presented in this report automates the calibrating process and simplifies the calibration. Suitable hardware as motor, controls card and so on have been found and software in the form of Visual Basic program has been developed.

I interventionsstudien var vårt syfte att undersöka om det finns ett samband mellan intensiv läsundervisning och ordavkodningen hos elever som har en långsam och osäker läsning. Vi genomförde tre läsrelaterade tester på 29 elever i årskurs 2 för att kartlägga deras ordavkodningsförmåga. Utifrån resultaten gjorde vi ett urval av fyra elever som vi kallade försöksgrupp. Dessa fick en-till-en-undervisning i olika ordavkodningsstrategier under fyra veckor vid 16 tillfällen, varje gång i 25-30 minuter. Vår undervisningsmodell inriktade sig mot fonologisk, morfologisk, syntaktisk och semantisk lästräning.

Tryckkvalitet för tryck med inkjetteknik kan kvantifieras på en rad olika sätt, bland de viktigaste är färgåtergivning och skärpa. STFI InkJet Test utvärderar just dessa. Frågan är om denna mätmetod korrelerar med den visuella upplevelsen. Syftet med studien var att finna vilka samband som råder mellan tryckkvalitet som uppmäts med instrument och den subjektiva tryckkvalitet som uppfattas av det mänskliga ögat. I undersökningens första del gjordes instrumentella mätningar med STFI InkJet Test på olika typer av papper.

Recent years there has been discussed how the critical situation in the housing market threatens the Stockholm region's growth. The thesis objective is to examine whether there is a scientific link between the lack of housing supply and growth. The thesis also intends to identify solutions for increased housing construction, for instance by examining the conditions for a greater regional perspective and influence on the region's housing supply. The thesis empirical study is based on semi-structured interviews with representatives from the Government, municipalities and the housing industry.In Sweden, research on the relationship between housing shortages and growth has not been conducted to that extent it can be said to exist scientific evidence regarding the growth threat. However, in Britain and the U.S, empirical studies show that a lack of housing supply has hindered growth through negative impact on countries' gross domestic product.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera hur ett antal makrovariabler påverkar på och samverkar med priserna på småhus. Även hur variablerna reagerar på chocker sinsemellan studeras.Tidsserieanalysen bygger på månadsdata från år 1996 fram till 2006, som innehåller alla försäljningar av småhusfastigheter i hela Sverige. Det kvalitetsindex som används för att analysera priserna är K/T- talet. För att studera skillnader, avseende samverkan och påverkan, regioner emellan görs en uppdelning av landet i regionerna Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö, Glesbygd samt hela Sverige. För att testa olika makrovariablers påverkan på K/T- talen används Grangers kausalitets test.
