This essay deals with risk management and social risks, which have received increased attentionin recent years. Methods for dealing with social risks, for example within local Risk andvulnerability assessment (RSA), are currently under development. The purpose of this paper is toexamine if and how social risk can be quantitatively assessed and mapped using GeographicInformation Systems (GIS). SammanfattningInledning: Den årliga incidensen för pankreascancer är 9 per 100 000 invånare. En tidig diagnos ger förbättrad 5-årsöverlevnad men botar fortfarande få patienter. De senaste åren har den dåliga prognosen förbättras tack vare utvecklingen inom bilddiagnostiken. Författaren i denna litteraturstudie har valt att jämföra multidetektor datortomografi (MDCT) och magnetisk resonans (MR) med kontrastmedel för diagnostik av pankreastumör vid misstänkt pankreascancer.Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att undersöka vilken radiologisk undersökningsmetod som är att föredra vid diagnostisering av pankreascancer, MDCT eller MR.Frågeställning: Är det MDCT eller MR som är bäst vid diagnostisering av pankreascancer?Metod: En litteraturstudie baserad på 12 antal artiklar som är funna i databasen PubMed.Resultat: MDCT och MR har likvärdig diagnostisk säkerhet att upptäcka pankreastumör samt påvisa kärlinväxt och förutse operabilitet.

This Masters thesis examines the position of films in Swedish public libraries. We have, by way of comparing various statistical data, determined that the status of film in public libraries is week. We have completed earlier research by mapping what genealogical, discursive patterns that could be outlined in the Swedish government reports from 1949 until today, focussing on the activity goals and media policy of the public library. We have, on the basis of Foucaults theories on genealogy and archaeology, where text documents are considered to be meta-descriptions giving each other authority, analyzed if there any discursive excluding or contextual formulations exist in the usage of the language concerning the goals and the media attitude of public libraries. We have mapped contextual discursive formulations that to the commissioners have become neutral starting points for their assumptions and conclusions.

The aim of this paper is to map out the purposes of the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. This is done in order to see if humanitarian tendencies have been an increasingly cause for the UN to initiate an intervention with military means. This paper uses the time period from the end of the cold war until today, since that historic occurrence increased the U.N.?s involvement in peacekeeping. By using this time span it enables the survey to indicate changes in the mapping of humanitarian interventions.

SAMMANFATTNING   Inledning: Vårdrelaterade infektioner är ett stort och kostsamt problem i vården. Förekomst av multiresistenta bakterier ökar och gör infektioner allt mer svårbehandlade. I sjuksköterskans arbetsuppgifter ingår bland annat att förebygga smittspridning och bedriva utvecklingsarbete.Syftet med denna studie var att studera och beskriva postoperativ sårinfektionsfrekvens hos samtliga patienter som opererats med femoralis poplitea by pass på aktuell klinik år 2004 respektive år 2007. Syftet var vidare att beskriva eventuella gemensamma faktorer hos patienterna som kunde var en orsak till postoperativ sårinfektion.Metod: En beskrivande studie med jämförande inslag via journalgranskning.Resultat: Journalgranskningen har inte visat någon ökad frekvens av postoperativa sårinfektioner avseende år 2004 respektive 2007 på den studerade avdelningen. Antalet operationer är konstant och antalet infektioner obetydligt färre.

Simulation of different systems can be done using a graphical model description of the system based on block diagrams. The simulation software Matlab/Simulink offers a lot of possibilities to describe a huge number of systems, which can be linear as well as nonlinear. The simulation using Matlab/Simulink is done by integration based on different kinds of numerical methods.When nonlinear Simulink-models are simulated, it is often interesting to apply a Kalman filter to handle the noise that may occur within the process as well as corrupting the measurement. However, application of such a filter leads to an extensive time-consumption despite using fast computers. The reason is that the existing Matlab functions are not constructed for time optimal evaluation.

By using steady-state measurements for predicting emissions under a dynamic drive cycle wouldsave a lot of time and money for the exhaust aftertreatment specialists at Volvo cars. The idea forthis thesis has been to investigate if statistical regression models can be used with good accuracy.Questions included are for example if common operating variables such as engine speed, air-fuelratio etc. is sufficient to predict engine-out emissions over the engine operating range with goodaccuracy. Focus was set on the modelling of warm engine, but also the more complex engineheat-up phase was investigated since it is a great contributor to total emissions. While NOxcouldnot be measured because of malfunctioning measurement equipment, only HC, CO andtemperature at inlet of first catalytic converter has been modelled.

This study has been assigned by Bengt Hellman who works at the logistic department at IKEA Torsvik just outside of Jönköping. The task has been to develop a new picking strategy for the Oversize area in the CDC-Warehouse. The reason why IKEA wants a new strategy is because they want to minimize the route length for the forklifts when collecting the orders.By evaluating the current strategies on other areas in the CDC-storehouse, study literature within this subject and look at restrictions for the storing of goods, we have analyzed how the Oversize area works today. We compared the gathered information, to how it should be done according to the literature to be able to work out a new functional strategy.Today, IKEA does not have a working strategy for the oversize area because of lack of time and because all the power has been put on other areas were sales rates are currently higher. This have led to lack of organisation at the Oversize area and items are just put were there is space without first analysing were it should be placed.The strategy that we have worked out and introduced to IKEA builds on easiness of understanding the layout, the employees shall know why an item is placed where it is.

Inledning: Parkinsons sjukdom drabbar 2 personer per 1000 innevånare, där kvinnor drabbas i nästan lika stor grad som män. Enligt svenska Parkinsonsförbundet insjuknar mellan 15 000 - 20 000 svenskar av sjukdomen varje år. Bakgrund: Det blir en stor omställning i livet när en person får diagnosen Parkinson och detta påverkar både den sjuke och dennes anhörige. Den anhörige får uppleva hur den sjuke förändras både fysiskt och psykiskt och vetskapen om att den parkinsondrabbade personen aldrig mer kommer att bli densamma är mycket påfrestande för den anhörige. Frustration, depression och oro är exempel på känslor som den anhörige kan uppleva i vårdandet.

Inledning: Mammografiscreening är den metod som används vid undersökning av kvinnor för att upptäcka bröstcancer i ett tidigt stadium. Detta möjliggör tidig behandling och minskar mortaliteten hos kvinnor. Trots detta avstår en del kvinnor att delta då de upplever mammografiundersökningen och komprimeringen som obehaglig och smärtsam. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva röntgensjuksköterskans roll under en mammografiundersökning vad gäller kompression, bildkvalité samt nöjd och trygg patient. Metod: Studien har utförts som en integrativ litteraturöversikt och utifrån syftet formulerades frågeställningar.
