In the year of 2001, China launched their new international marketing strategy Going Global. As an effect of this, the frequency of Chinese establishments in Sweden has increased heavily in the last ten years. One of the larger Chinese establishments in Sweden happened in 2003, by the telecom company Huawei. This essay illustrates the obstacles that a Chinese company faces when setting up their business on the Swedish market. Previous studies have focused on Swedish establishment abroad.

It is self evident that our society is an information one. Att en destination utstrålar en stark och positiv image har blivit en viktig faktor för att attrahera turister. En negativ global image av en destination kan bidra till en minskad turism. I denna studie söks en förståelse för hur Amsterdams image påverkas av sex- och drogturismen i staden. Teorier som bemöter primära och sekundära turistattraktioner, sökandet efter nöjes/meningsfulla upplevelser och image segmentering har satts i relation med insamlat empiriskt material hämtat från två enkätundersökningar samt tre semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Studiens analys visar att sex- och drogturismen genererar både en positiv och negativ image för Amsterdam i koppling till vad som är moraliskt riktigt.

I dagens samhälle där vi förbrukar allt mer resurser har frågorna om hur vi ska göra för att få en hållbar utveckling blivit allt viktigare. Det finns ett stort intresse för dessa frågor och många ställer krav på företagen att ta ansvar för sin påverkan på samhället och att arbeta för en hållbar utveckling. Detta har lett till att många företag idag arbetar med och även redovisar hur de arbetar med ansvars- och hållbarhetsfrågor.  Regeringen har ställt kravet att alla statliga bolag från och med räkenskapsåret 2008 ska upprätta en hållbarhetsredovisning enligt Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). GRI är ett ramverk för hållbarhetsredovisning som kan användas som ett verktyg för att redovisa, utveckla och styra hålllbarhetsarbetet med. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om företag använder GRI som ett verktyg för att förbättra hållbarhetsarbetet samt hur företagen använder det.

The trend towards increasingly large farming units raises questions regarding how to better monitor production. Larger units make the impact from possible errors more severe, which increases the pressure on management supervision. To cope with management issues, prevent errors and handle increased demands on traceability and documentation, the Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) concept is making its way into various parts of agriculture. In sectors outside agriculture, RTLS are already being used successfully to track and locate items through nodes at different levels of accuracy, such as room level or the relative or absolute position. Empirical data can be received in real time from the nodes.

Agricultural soils constitute the base in human food production and soil content of organic matter and plant nutrients together with soil microbial activity are all important parameters for high crop yield of good quality. These parameters are dependant on proper fertilization.Anaerobic digestion of organic wastes for biogas production generates a liquid residue called biogas residue (BR). It contains organic material and plant nutrients which makes ita potential fertilizer for arable cropping. However, it also contains heavy metals and toxic organic compounds and it is therefore in need of evaluation before usage.Microbial tests were performed aiming to evaluate the agronomic traits of four different BR and to find a viable procedure for evaluating slurry fertilizers. Two experiments where soil respiration and soil potential denitrification activity (PDA) was measured at fertilizer addition were performed.

Anställningsotrygghet är ett fenomen som under de senaste årtiondena har fått en ökad utbredning på grund av att organisationer gör stora nedskärningar och förändringar. Konsekvensen kan bli att upplevelsen av anställningsotrygghet uppstår. I dag genomgår världen en global lågkonjunktur med följden att arbetslösheten förväntas öka. Flera studier har tidigare undersökt begreppet anställningsotrygghet men på populationsnivå i Sverige är ämnet fortfarande outforskat. Syftet med studien var därför att på populationsnivå identifiera vilka grupper som har högre risk att drabbas av anställningsotrygghet än andra.

To achieve a sustainable development, three aspects have to take equal place in the society; environmental, economical and social. To reduce the impact on the environment and the amount of greenhouse gases supplied to the atmosphere, industrialized countries and less developed countries must start cooperating. Also the use of renewable energy sources, like solar, hydro and wind power, have to increase.Wind power has great potential as a future energy supply. It is cost efficient, quickly developed and the resource is abundant and available worldwide.Examinations made in Sweden, indicates that there are difficulties establishing wind power at the same pace as the environmental goals, set by the Swedish government, requires. Mainly because people living nearby potential areas for wind power farms, appeal against the decision.This study aims to investigate differences between how people in Sweden and Brazil look at wind power as a future energy source and at the establishing process.

The aim of this essay is to study how the University Church is represented in student newspapers. By conducting an inductive thematic analysis on sixteen articles chosen from newspapers distributed by the student union at three Swedish universities, the main purpose of the study is to further understand the role and function of the University Church in a contemporary Swedish context. Three themes emerging from the initial step of the thematic analysis were chosen for further analysis: (1) a secularized church?, (2) provocation and (3) reasons to seek out the University Church. The themes were then highlighted by two theoretical perspectives: Mark Chaves? theory of internal secularization and a theoretical framework developed by Anders Bäckström with the aim to explain the role of the church as a welfare agent in Sweden.The study shows that the University Church is portrayed as both an ambiguous and complex organization.

With an IT outsourcing project there are many factors affecting how efficiency andquality develop in the outsourced activity. The Purpose of this study is to identifythese factors through a case study in a global company that is dissatisfied with theefficiency and quality of their outsourced helpdesk. For data collection methodsinterviews and observations were used. Interviews were conducted with people fromdifferent parts of the company in three different countries, all somehow involved inthe outsourced system. The observations were made with the outsourced company tosee how the employees work and fill information gaps that the interviews could notcover.

Housing construction very close to the lake Mälaren has become very popular today. One potential problem with these houses is the influence of the sea climate. Unprotected buildings are affected by strong winds and precipitation. So for that reason, it is very important to make an accurate climate investigation and use it for decision-making during the planning of the new settlement.It is very important with a good moisture protection regarding pelting rain, that is the combination of wind and rain. This is more important for buildings close to a lake, as this location normally means a higher exposure to wind.

This thesis aims to find a more cost effective model for purchasing and logistics at asmall company. The studied company is a BMX (bicycle motocross) and MTB(mountain bike) retailer. The questions to be answered are: How large parties shouldbe ordered and what mode of transportation is to be used? A literature orientation ofthe field was followed by visits to the company, obtaining information from twodifferent logistics companies and interviews of four other companies in the sameindustry. The study shows that it´s difficult to develop an optimum order quantity fora small company since there often are other factors affecting how large amountshould be ordered.

Allt större krav ställs idag på den offentliga sektorn. Det har också skapat höga krav på effektivitet och rationalisering inom offentlig verksamhet, exempelvis kommunal service. Faktum är att det idag nästan ställs samma krav på kommunal verksamhet som på ett vinstmaximerande företag. Visst finns det skillnader mellan företag och kommunala förvaltningar i till exempel uppdrag, men kronorna bör hållas i lika hårt i båda fallen. Dessa högre krav leder också till att kommunal organisation, ledning och styrning måste vidareutvecklas och fungera så effektivt som möjligt.

Uppsatsen handlar om hur olika diskurser karaktäriserar Malmö stads planeringstänkande i de tre undersökta översiktsplanerna under 2000-talet. De fyra diskurserna som studeras är den globala staden, entreprenörsstaden, kunskapsstaden och postmodernistiskt planeringsteori. De tre första diskurserna behandlar fenomen om städer och regioner utifrån en global informationsekonomi. Den fjärde och sista diskursen är en gren inom planeringsteorin som ställer sig kritisk till den modernistiska synen på planering och planerare. Planering som postmodernism är likt sina föregångare, normativ i sin karaktär och försöker att lösa problem som har tillkommit i en postkolonial värld.
