There is an old saying, that after Epaminondas nothing was ever the same again. In this thesis I will focus on three questions: "Epaminondas the man." Who was he? "Epaminondas the general." How did he change the technique of warfare that made it possible to beat the Spartans? "Epaminondas, founder of cities and wall-builder." How did he build the walls around the cities he initiated, that made them resist enemy attacks for many years to come?While seeking the answers to yhese questions I will make a contextual analysis to get the historical background to all the phenomina involved..

Based on a review of literature on evalution of public activities and in purpose to introduce amore general framework, this study describes a picture of the concept, context, motives,strategies, use and actors in Evaluation as these are experienced outside the field of libraryand information. The background is the increased need for" evaluations in public libaries and aneed for new LIS knowledge about it. The reviewed literature has its origin in differentdisciplinary contexts and the study include contributions from policy studies, sociologi,education research, business administration, philosophy and anthropology. The focus, though,is not placed upon differences in the literature but on similarities.The review is organised in six parts. In the first part a presentation is given of how evaluationsare conceptualized and its meaning in a historical perspective.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att i vetenskaplig litteratur utifrån sjuksköterskornas perspektiv undersöka vilken inställning sjuksköterskor har till opioidbehandling i palliativ vård. Metoden baserades på systematisk granskning och analys av åtta vetenskapliga artiklar.Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie visar att kunskap och erfarenhet har en positiv påverkan på sjuksköterskornas inställning till opioidbehandling i palliativ vård. Resultatet visade också att sjuksköterskor med kort arbetslivserfarenhet, sjuksköterskors ovana i omvårdnaden av svårt sjuka och döende patienter samt de sjuksköterskor som inte visar förtroende för opioider som behandingsform är motvilliga till opioidadministration..

During the period of this project I have programed a web site in php4, and also built the database in MySQL. The purpose with the projekt is to create a common web site for the various activities in the different churches located in the area of Örnsköldsvik. In my project I have chosen to try to find a structure of programming that fits my needs as a dyslexic. Studiens bakgrund beskriver att kommunikation är sjuksköterskans viktigaste redskap. Andra faktorer som har betydelse för det korta mötet är tid, miljö, makt, bekräftelse och närvaro. Travelbee menar att för att förstå vad omvårdnad är och bör vara, måste man förstå vad som sker mellan patient och sjuksköterska, hur denna interaktion kan upplevas och vilka konsekvenser detta kan få för patienten och hans tillstånd. Syftet med studien var att identifiera faktorer som påverkade patientens upplevelse i det korta mötet med sjuksköterskan. Litteraturstudien baserades på 14 vetenskapliga artiklar vilka belyste patientens perspektiv.

Psoriasis är en kronisk inflammatorisk hudsjukdom. Cirka två procent av Sveriges befolkning har sjukdomen. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att beskriva hur det är att leva med psoriasis. Resultatet baserades på åtta vetenskapliga artiklar, vilka systematiskt söktes och kvalitetsbedömdes av Carlsson & Eimans (2003) bedömningsmall. Resultatet visade att psoriasis patienternas livskvalitet påverkades negativt i de dagliga aktiviteterna samt i sociala relationer.

The aim is to describe the factors that influence nurses' assessment and measurement of pain in patients. Literature study based on 13 reviewed articles, searched in the Cinahl. Qualitative and quantitative articles were analyzed. Six themes were identified that can be seen as the factors that influence nurses' assessment and measurement. The themes were   pain education, nurses´ experience in the profession, nurses´ level of knowledge about pain relief, documentation about pain, nurse´s perspective on the patient, and pain measurement.

During spring 2001 we have been involved with our bachelor thesis at Doberman Digital Agency, an Internet related webdesign company. We have focused our work on the registration process via digital medias such as the Internet. During our workprocess we have been conducting a number of studies and analyses of workrelated materials. Ethnographical methods such as structured interviews and participant observations were primarily used in our work. We also widely used brainstorming in our designprocess.

The purpose of this study was to examine what social workers include in the term "parenting ability". More specifically the purpose was to investigate how social workers view the parenting ability among parents with an intellectual disability. Furthermore the aim was to examine what difficulties social workers come across in their work with families where one of the parents are intellectually disabled. The study was based on six interviews with social workers that specifically work with children under the age of 18, and occasionally come across parents with this type of disability. The interviews were analysed using Donald Winnicott's terms "good-enough-parenting", "holding" and "the holding environment".

This degree project is an inquiry in how plan layouts and functions should be designed to suit families with children. The project aim to, if possible, find good solutions and designed houses that satisfy the requirements a family have.Last spring we contacted Willa Nordic AB, a company that produce houses, and they had a suggestion to investigate living for families with children. Their motif were that they lacked in information and knowledge in how to design houses that correspond to a family's needs. We thought the idea was exiting and motivating.The autumn 2008 studies were made on earlier published reports, in the subject "living environment", to get a solid background. The earlier inquiries shows a clear development through the whole 1900's, from being without standards to have well defined norms.

Allmänläkare i primärvården är den första vårdgivare som människor i behov av psykisk hjälp möter. Det saknas forskning om behandling av psykiskt sjuka inom primärvården i enskilda länder. I syfte att hitta nya frågeställningar och få djupare förståelse av hur primärvården fungerar med avseende på psykiskt sjuka intervjuades elva allmänläkare i en kroatisk stad. Insamlade data från intervjuerna strukturerades och bearbetades genom en induktiv tematisk analys. Resultaten visar att allmänläkare upplever en hög arbetsbelastning.

It is not a question of investment process but rather a question of, investment processes. How these investment processes operates depends totally on the type and size of the current investment, which unit that is operating the processes and what situation the bank currently finds itself in. There is a written form that describes how the different processes should be operated and which capital budget models that should be used but the usage of these forms can be questioned..

Detta arbete behandlar de tilläggsprogram som, på senaste tid, börjat spridas med bland annat peer2peerverktyg. Dessa tilläggsprogram, som brukar benämnas spyware alternativt adware, misstänks för att samla in personlig information, så som e-mailadresser och lösenord. Det föreligger en risk att informationen sedan säljs vidare eller används för att exempelvis rikta reklam....

Syftet med denna empiriska studie var att granska hur sjuksköterskan dokumente-rar smärta på en postoperativ avdelning och hur åtgärder i samband med smärt-lindring följs upp. Studien genomfördes på Universitetssjukhuset i Malmö genom granskning av journaler för 14 patienter som givit sitt samtycke att delta i studien. Analysen resulterade i tre kategorier: god/tillfredsställande, delvis tillfredsställan-de och bristfällig/obefintlig dokumentation. Resultatet av studien visade brister gällande dokumentation av smärta. Avsaknad av användning av visuell analog skala, smärtans karaktär och uppföljning av smärtlindring kunde noteras i ett fler-tal journaler.

Everybody does not agree however, that legalization is the best course of action and in Sweden the emotions have sometimes run high in the discussions taking place in television shows and newspapers.The purpose of this study is to examine the image media portrays of cannabis; based on the theory that mass media is an important influence on the individual and the way in which he or she views the world. To put the result into a context the Swedish media image will be compared with the one in Denmark and Norway.
