Syftet med denna studie är att ta reda på vad som gör att Ukraina lyckats bli en erkänd demokrati samtidigt som Vitryssland förblir en auktoritär diktatur. Vi ska i denna jämförande analys titta på de demokratiseringsprocesser som ägt rum i de båda länderna. Vi kommer lägga energi på staten, det civila samhället och globaliseringen. Vår analys visade att det efter självständighetsförklaringarna fanns auktoritära tendenser båda länderna. Trots att Kutjma så tidigt som 1998 tog avstånd från ett direkt auktoritärt styre liknande det i Vitryssland förblev Ukraina en semi-diktatur fram till den orangea revolutionen då landet fick en ny chans att bygga demokrati.

This report is introduced with a presentation of fundamental electromagnetic theories, which have helped a lot in the achievement of methods for calculation and design of microstrip transmission lines and circulators. The used software for the work is also based on these theories. General considerations when designing microstrip solutions, such as different types of transmission lines and circulators, are then presented. Especially the design steps for microstrip lines, which have been used in this project, are described. Discontinuities, like bends of microstrip lines, are treated and simulated.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how four decision makers at a University College and a library director at the same University College perceive the profile, image and identity of their library. This University College library is used as our main example. We have evaluated the main example in relation to two other University College libraries, in order to obtain a deeper understanding of how these library directors view their own libraries and to attain a more multi-dimensional view of the main example of our study. Our intention is to analyse the current situation, not the past nor the future. Qualitative semi-structured interviews with decision makers and library directors have been conducted.

The aim of this master's thesis is to describe the management of free Internet resources in three Swedish research libraries. With the starting point in the increased quantity and importance of these resources, together with reflections on the change of the concept of collection, the thesis shows how and to what extent these freely accessible Internet resources are being integrated in the day-to-day work with collection development. It also elucidates the problems with the free Internet resources from the research libraries points of view. The study is based upon analyses of collection management literature and qualitative interviews with librarians at the chosen libraries. The thesis shows that the research libraries still have not come very far in their work of integrating the free Internet resources in their collections.

Infertilitet är ett globalt problem som drabbar ungefär 186 miljoner kvinnor världen över. Infertilitet medför ett stort lidande och påverkar kvinnor psykiskt, fysiskt, kulturellt och emotionellt. Då sjuksköterskan har ett ansvar att upptäcka och lindra lidande är det av relevans att ha kunskap om kvinnors upplevese av infertilitet. Syftet i litteraturstudien var att belysa kvinnors upplevelse av infertilitet. Metoden i studien är en litteraturstudie där innehållet utgörs av elva vetenskapliga artiklar.

Genom en studie på Elfversons & Co AB tar det här examensarbetet upp hur och varför klingslag uppstår på deras träkorkar. Undersökningen har gjorts med en höghastighetskamera för att sakta ner hela förloppet så att det mänskliga ögat kan se vad det är som egentligen händer i och med att maskinen producerar ca 1 kork per sekund.Maskinerna som används för att producera korkarna är specialdesignade och unika. Företaget har tillverkat träkorkar sedan 1949. Syftet med det här arbetet var att undersöka hur och varför klingslagen uppstår och sedan ge företaget en bättre förståelse för processen. Den här uppsatsen innehåller en undersökning av skillnader mellan tidningarna Bulletinen och Allt om Mat som är inriktad på hur texter ur tidningarna ger upphov till ideologiska effekter och skapar modelläsare. Den analysmetod som tillämpas är en ideologikritisk analys. Efter genomförd analys kan undersökningen konstatera att de båda tidningarna ger upphov till ideologier som i relation till konsumtionskulturen skiljer dem åt. Samtidigt framträder ett flertal likheter mellan de båda texternas språkliga verkan som kan kopplas till intertextualitet och gemensamma diskurser..

The use of social media has increased considerably in recent years and has also caused some problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate an employee's right to express themselves about their employers in various forms but the main focus will be on social networks. Syftet med detta arbete är att ta reda på hur tidskriften Vakna! är utformad i sin roll sommissionsmaterial för Jehovas vittnen. För att göra detta genomförs en retorisk analys avtolv olika utgåvor av tidskriften. Denna analys relateras till teorier om socialaverkligheter, religiösa marknader och olika former av deprivation som orsak tillreligiositet. Resultatet av arbetet visar på att Vakna! på många sätt är retoriskt utformatför att marknadsföra organisationen Jehovas vittnen och dess budskap som produkter påen religiös marknad. I relation till deprivationsteorier framgår det även en bild av enidealisk predisposition för att tilltalas av budskapet i Vakna!.

As social interactions migrate to the ubiquitous Internet we are facing a change in theway we relate to each other, which presents interesting new opportunities foranonymity to create identities. An aspect of this radically evolving technology thatexhibits strong possibilities for altering or producing identities is the rapidly growingonline game genre MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) which isentertainment that millions of people all over the globe engage in daily. Thisrelatively new platform for socialising has become of cultural and social significance,which is why it calls for examination and research. Thus, the main research questionsasked in this thesis are as following: How does players of MMOGs utilise the nighcomplete anonymity to present or modify their identities online? In which ways areMMOGs used as a platform for socialising and development of social groupdynamics? After observing a large group of players in a popular MMOG, as well asconducting several interviews with key identities within the group, I discovered three fundamental parts of identity creation, and created a model for use and applicationin different social situations and constellations..

The National Libraries task to save and preserve the national cultural heritage has turned to a new challenge in a digital world. The preservation of born-digital material for future use requires not only saving the digital object itself but also information about the object, preservation metadata. This is a relatively new issue and the library community has very little experience in this area. It has become evident that international cooperation is necessary to solve the task and that the development of international standards is of fundamental significance. This thesis investigates what has been done to meet the problems with the fast obsolescence of digital material with the focus on metadata.
