No summary of feeding recommendations for foals exists today, which is why this subject was chosen for a literature study. The aim of this study was to describe nutrient requirements of healthy full term foals and how the feeding should be designed to raise foals if they lose their mother. Mare milk composition changes during lactation to meet the requirements of the suckling foal. Foals are born with enzymes in their small intestine and the concentrations of these follow the consumption patterns of the foal. Microbes colonizes the gut as the foal becomes older and these changes cause foal diarrhea.

Development of services that?s provided through mobile application technology in today's modern IT society has become a full-fledged market where numerous players trying to make themselves heard in everything from innovative new services to the further development of existing services. In these services actors wants to find new areas of use by taking advantage of the mobile technology.We have investigated how value is created and how the value is captured in the services provided through mobile applications. Through this, we wanted to identify the critical success factors in how a newly developed service should be designed to create value. This has been done through a thorough literature review, together with an indepth evaluation of existing applications.

The purpose of this study was to examine how some young mothers, who previously have been in foster care or residential care, describe the way motherhood has affected their lives and identities. Narrative interviews were conducted with three teenage mothers and one mother aged 23. As tools for analyzing the narratives, theories about narrative psychology and how people present themselves through story-telling and language were used. The results of the study show that becoming a mother was life-changing in a positive way, according to the young mothers. They described how they, since becoming mothers, had become more mature and now lived less risk-full lives.

I ett litet företag finns en risk att ledningen fokuserar så mycket på kärnverksamheten att övriga administrativa verksamheter åsidosätts. Exempelvis finns det risk att företaget inte har full kontroll på sina lager.Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att beskriva och analysera värderingen och styrningen av lagret hos ett litet handelsföretag med butik och i förekommande fall ge förbättringsförslag.Vi har dels studerat lagar och rekommendationer avseende hantering av lager samt litteratur inom området lagerstyrning i handelsföretag. Dessutom har vi intervjuat företrädare för ett typiskt litet handelsföretag.Det undersökta företaget uppfyller gällande lagar och rekommendationer, men inte så mycket mer. Vidare använder sig företaget mestadels av känsla och erfarenhet i sin lagerstyrning. Förtaget använder alltså inte formella analyser och metoder i någon större utsträckning, om ens någon.

I have done a case-study about building a new stable for slaughter pigs at a farm close to Kalmar. The farm is able to supply the breeding with cereals and it has enough area to spread the manure on. The most important factors to gain profit, is the cost for building the stable, the price of the feeding-stuff and the growth of the pigs. The discount from the slaughter-house was less important than I thought from the beginning, and it?s a factor that is hard to influence. With the new production of slaughter-pig and cattle that already exist on the farm, the farm will get a well-functioned rotation of crops with lye and autumn rape as interruption-crop.

This diploma work has been conducted for the consulting company Ramböll inUppsala, Sweden with the purpose to perform a study with the calculation programFEM Design 9.0 made by Strusoft. The aim has been to find out if it is possible to gainadvantage by utilizing more advanced 3D software for design calculations, instead ofthe traditional methods currently used in construction works.The method of approach has been to model an existing warehouse building with theprogram FEM Design, and then compare the results with those attained with FrameAnalysis and hand calculations. These results are then analyzed. An evaluation is maderegarding to what benefits can be achieved using a more advanced 3D-model.The results of the study show that the differences between the methods are not ofany significance with regard to the design of the steel frame. However in morecomplex materials such as reinforced concrete, the differences become more notable.The conclusions drawn by the authors of this study into FEM Design are that theeducation requirements of the program are higher than for simpler programs, whosepurpose are solving predetermined problems.

Detta examensarbete var ett projekt som utfördes på uppdrag av Redskaparna AB. Syftet med projektet var att vidareutveckla och förbättra ett befintligt prototypredskap avsett för betongblandning. Problemen som uppstod med den befintliga prototypen var bl.a. att kritiska driftstopp inträffade p.g.a. fastkilning inuti skopan och delar på redskapet tog skada eller gick sönder vilket ledde till att redskapet blev obrukbart och reparation måste utföras.

This essay examines how a group of five youths? self identities are affected by unemploy-ment, contact with the social services and by labour market interventions. In Sweden youth employment has been regarded as a social problem. Arbetslinjen that could be translated into the work model or the work line influences and is a necessity for the Swedish welfare system. With a hermeneutic scientific philosophical position the method used to examine this has been to interview the youths, in the age of 18-25, individually.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva föräldrars uppfattningar om kommunal fritidsverksamhet för grundsärskolebarn mellan sex och tolv år i en aktuell kommun. Deltagarna i studien bestod av sex föräldrar som i intervjuer tillfrågades om sina uppfattningar om fritidsverksamheten. För att begränsa studien ställdes inga frågor om skolverksamhet och fritid i hemmiljö. Intervjuns frågeformulär baserades på nationella styrdokument för fritidsverksamheters utformning och kommunala mål och riktlinjer. Resultatet visade att föräldrars uppfattningar om fritid hade en annan betydelse för deras barn, därför kallas fritid för livsträning.

In this examination paper I?m using the qualitative method: phenomenographic analysis to present twenty educated and working pre-school teachers opinions about being outdoors in Swedish pre-school. The purpose is to describe the variation between different pre-school teachers? opinions, not to focus on wrong or right.    The paper starts with a review over the opinions presented by the literature on the subject.

This paper deals with testing the method Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) on the copy of the Piraeus-lion in Historic Museum in Stockholm. The purpose is to find out if it is possible to gather more information about the runic inscriptions. RTI is a method that records the surface normal of individual pixels in a digital photograph by analyzing the impact of light coming from different angles of entrance. RTI produces sort of a 3D-image of the object. There will be an overview of earlier interpretations of the runic scripts written on the lion as well as an overview of Varangians in the southeast.

Enligt Lag om stöd och service till vissa funktionshindrade(LSS 1993:387) ska verksamheterna inom LSS grundas på respekt utifrån den enskilde individens integritet och självbestämmande samt i största möjliga utsträckning ge den funktionshindrade medbestämmande och inflytande över insatser som ges. Vidare är det verksamhetens ansvar att främja jämlikhet, gällande levnadsvillkor och full delaktighet i samhällslivet för att ge den funktionshindrade möjlighet att leva som andra. Trots lagstiftningen påvisar forskningen tydliga brister ute i verksamheten. Vår uppsats syftar till att på en strukturell nivå se hur resonemanget kring olika organisatoriska strategier ser ut för att främja brukarnas inflytande och självbestämmande mellan olika stadsdelar i Malmö samt att undersöka skillnader och likheter mellan dessa stadsdelar. Empowerment är ett betydande begrepp inom LSS men alla stadsdelar i Malmö arbetar på olika sätt för att främja brukarnas möjlighet till självbestämmande och inflytande..

The purpose of this study is to explore how preschool teachers succeed in their mission to conduct work that will enhance children's interest and knowledge in technology. The study was conducted by qualitative semi-structured interviews among eight teachers at seven preschools in the same municipality. The method was chosen because I wanted to get as detailed and full answers as possible. I also wanted to find out their individual perceptions. The result shows that most of the teachers think that they have insufficient knowledge to practically work with technology. At the same time they?re expressing that technology is a broad area that sometimes is a little more complicated than it needs to be.

Det här examensarbetet utvärderar om det är möjligt att använda en eller flera GPUs för att under realtidsförhållanden utföra radarsignalbehandling i ett pulsdopplerradarsystem. En kedja med radarsignalbehandlingsalgoritmer som används för att utföra detektion har implementerats med CUDA och sedan prestandaanalyserats med fokus på låg exekveringstid. Två CFAR-detektionsalgoritmer, CA- och OS-CFAR, har inkluderats i analysen. För CFAR-algoritmerna har flera alternativ formulerats och implementerats för att utvärdera hur de bäst kan anpassas för att exekvera på en GPU.Prestandaanalysen av de implementerade algoritmerna visar att det är möjligt för det tänkta systemet att använda grafikkort för att utföra radarsignalbehandlingen i realtid. Implementationslösningar har presenterats både för CA- och OS-CFAR som uppfyller tidskraven för systemet, i vissa fall med god marginal.

This study aims to seek knowledge of the salutogenic model within geriatric care. This is done by problematizing the female geriatric care personnel?s everyday life and conditions. The study?s comparative empirical focus includes interviews with ten women that work within geriatric care, at two different workplaces.
