This thesis is an analysis of articles published in the Palestinian newspaper al-Quds concerning the escalated conflicts within the Fatah movement during the summer in 2004.The study is done on the basis of the assumption that The Palestinian Authority (PA) expects the domestic media institutions to support the official objectives and, in this case most important, the national unity. My investigation reveals that the articles are indeed highly adjusted and purposed to unify and to hinder further growing instability, both in the politicalsphere and in the streets. The message urging for unification under the PA is constantly, directly and indirectly, repeated throughout the articles by the choice of themes and references as well as by the choice of individuals and organisations delivering statements..

Uppsatsens syfte är att granska sexton recensioner publicerade i svensk respektive amerikansk press gällande filmen Den Gröna Cykeln (Haifaa Al-Mansour, 2012). Undersökningen grundar i kritikernas syn på genus och jämställdhet samt kulturell och nationell identitet som filmen berör. Recensionerna analyseras och jämförs för att hitta skillnader och likheter i den svenska respektive amerikanska receptionen. Analysen visar att skillnaden mellan de två nationernas reception är uppdelade mellan de två fokusområdena, där de amerikanska kritikerna fokuserar på kulturell och nationell identitet och jämför filmens skildring av det saudiarabiska samhället med den amerikanska kulturen. De svenska kritikerna tycks generellt ha större fokus på filmens skildring av genus och jämställdhet till skillnad från amerikanerna..

The thesis has as purpose to describe and analyse a decision made be the Swedish tax committee in which it was decided that a cooperative economical associations selling price, which was less than the comparable public bonds market price, would be the focus of a withdrawal tax. Syftet med vårt arbete är att få en uppfattning om hur några lärare använder sig av läxan i undervisningen, samt vilken betydelse de anser den har för lärandet. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ intervjustudie med sex lärare på högstadiet. Resultatet av vår studie visar att lärare använder sig av läxor, och att repetition och innötning är de främsta skälen till att språklärare ger läxa, men även den tidsbesparande aspekten är ett starkt skäl. Att eleverna får träna sig i eget ansvar verkar dessutom ligga i fokus. Lärarna känner även press från föräldrar att de ska ge läxor.

This master thesis investigates how the county administrative boards communicate the regional risk and vulnerability analyses to municipalities in Sweden. Information has been gathered through a survey and through a case study involving three county administrative boards. The results revealed that there are possibilities to improve or develop the communication in all the county administrative boards. The information channels are often written or web based, these channels promote one way communication rather than a dialog. The thesis gives suggestion on how to work out a strategy for a more effective communication, the case study also gives ideas on how a county administrative board can work with communication..

The purpose of this study is to illustrate why Norway is not a member of the EU from a rational choice perspective. In order to fulfil this purpose, two questions will constitute the framework of the study. These are:1. What are the arguments of the EU-opposers in the Norwegian EU-debate?2.

This thesis examines how power is constructed through language use in the Swedish mining policy with the legislative change proposition to enabling uranium mining. The aim is to analyze differences in how the government and municipalities formulate and justify their positions. The study adopts a qualitative case study design and applies Fairlough?s critical discourse analysis. The empirical material consists of a governmental press release and public consultation responses from municipalities.

In this project we have used the theory of analytical mechanics to derive equations of motion for complex mechanical systems in order to study their behaviour over time. Even if the theory provides powerful tools to tackle tough problems which would be very hard to solve by methods of Newtonian mechanics, you are still relatively limited without running any computer simulations. One realises that in a faster rate it will be an incredibly difficult task to find an analytical solution when the degrees of freedom increases. Even if one would succeed to derive the equations, one still has to solve them to get the information of the systems behavior. Of experience one knows that the equations in general are nonlinear and hence must be integrated numericaly.

The rural development programme is a tool for promoting sustainable development in the Swedish countryside. The master plan should, for example, give directions for the national interest and describe how it will follow up national and regional targets such as the EU's environmental quality standards. Syftet med studien är att undersöka om det finns något samband mellan Facebook användning och negativa känslor. Studien genomfördes genom en enkät som delades via Facebook. Urvalet bestod av 100 personer.

I det här arbetet behandlas användningen av 3D som planeringsverktyg för kommunal planering och vägprojektering. Projektet går ut på att utveckla en 3D-modell över ett område i Kalmar med teorier inom informationsdesign och kommunikation med kartor. Huvudsyftet är att undersöka hur en stadsmiljö i 3D kan utvecklas för att bli ett hjälpmedel i planeringsprocessen och dialogen med Kalmars befolkning och press.Med stöd i teorier och en kvalitativ undersökning genom ett användartest undersöks problemformuleringen: Hur kan man utveckla en tredimensionell miljö i syfte att underlätta planeringen av nybyggnationer på områden Norra Kvarnholmen och Malmfjärden med utgångspunkt från teorier kring kommunikationsprocesser och kommunikation via kartor? Hur kan de huvudanvändare som skapar objekt i sagda miljö placera in valda byggnader och trafiklösningar?Resultatet och slutsatsen av undersökningen visar att bilder och filmsekvenser ifrån en 3D-modell är ett värdefullt verktyg i planeringssammanhang och i syftet att föra en dialog med dess målgrupp..

By the year of 2007, 97 % of all listed companies in Europe had a CSR strategy described on their website. As the concept of CSR during the last decades has increased rapidly in popularity, a need to understand how such a strategy can be implemented has followed. While working with CSR in an integrated manner shows similarities to other popular management ideas, such as Lean and TQM, companies applying to a CSR strategy has been shown to be under higher scrutiny from media and NGO:s. Through a case study this thesis examines how these special circumstances of a CSR strategy makes The Body Shop use organizational control to avoid being subject to scandals due to not fulfilling the promises made to its customers. The results show that The Body Shop's commitment to CSR creates a need for a stringent bureaucratic control system that highly restricts the freedom of action for its employees.

Flera områden, vilka berör Försvarsmaktens operativa förmåga, identifieras som lämpliga för samarbete med de nordiska länderna.
