The aim of the study was to describe how managers at the eldercare system especially in nursing homes work to ensure high quality care. For this purpose, a qualitative method was used in this study and four managers at nursing home have been interviewed. Previous studies have shown that managers in some cases are restricted in their actions and that this may slow down the improvement of the care. At the same time the managers describe their work as demanding and diverse. They have a significant staff responsibility, meaning that they have to ensure the quality of care.

The aim of the study was to describe parents' experiences of empty nest. The sample consisted of individuals who had experienced one child moving out of the parental home. Data were collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The thematic analysis revealed four themes, Concerns about the new time in life, Changing roles, Socializing in the family and Testing the relations. Due to the themes participants' stories reveal anxiety facing the time that will come when children takes the step to leave the nest.

The aim of this qualitative study is to examine how users of talking books perceive the possibility of downloading talking books from home without visiting the library and how this affects them. Three research questions were formulated:How do talking book users reflect on their library usage?Have the subject's' library usage changed since introduction to the download service?How have users experienced the service?To answer these questions, five semi structured interviews were conducted with five different users of talking books in Sweden. All subjects were currently using download services which they had gained access to from their local public libraries. In analyzing the interviews, a theory established by Henrik Jochumsen and Casper Hvenegaard Rasmussen in Gør biblioteket en forskel (2000) was used.

2014 is a special year in Sweden: for the first time elections to the European parliament and the national elections coincides, creating a"Super election year". This year has also seen the rebirth of an old way of campaigning: door-to-door canvassing. For the first time in 50 years the two biggest political parties, the Social Democrats and the Moderate Party, have decided to create a campaign based on personal meetings with the voters in their own home. To investigate this old-new way of campaigning, this study presents an overview of the history of door-to-door canvassing in Sweden and the research in political marketing associated with the phenomena. Based on that, a new model is constructed to help analyze and map the Swedish canvassing-campaigns.

During 2006 several new opportunities appeared on the market, giving the homeowners more of a choice in what way to sell their homes. Background: According to us, obtaining reimbursement of expenses in connection with a representation is a ?forgotten? process, and we therefore find it interesting to look further into. In some cases we have not claimed for compensation since we consider the process as too complicated or that we lost the original receipt. Ernst & Young (2009) say in their research that within the financial management area, Swedish operations loses billions of Swedish crowns due to bad routines. Okada and Hoch (2004) mention that if time were not considered as a resource, time would not be a hinder.

Kärnkraftverk är högteknologiska system med hög komplexitet och utan att hantera den här komplexiteten kan små olyckor få katastrofala följder. Närvaron av komplexitet försämrar förmågan att förstå situationer, minskar kontroll samt ökar risken för incidenter. Stabsarbete inom kärnkraftsdomänen kräver ett agilt beteende för att hantera den höga närvaron av komplexitet. Agilitet är förmågan hos en enhet att framgångsrikt genomföra, hantera och/eller utnyttja förändrade omständigheter. Syftet med arbetet är att utveckla ett mätverktyg för att identifiera indikatorer på agilt beteende i stabsverksamhet inom kärnkraftsdomänen.

The aim of this thesis was to study librarians approach upon reference questions and available resources and also to find out if there is any connection between the nature of the reference question and the choice of resource. The purpose was also to give a deeper understanding of the reference work. Nine librarians were given ten reference questions and their reference work was tape recorded. The study was completed with seven interviews sent by email. Some of the reflections were translated under the headlines of form, subject, time, language and availability.

The purpose of this paper is to study how people without home experience social services and how they experience their space of action when they meet social services. In order to answer these questions, a qualitative approach has been used. The empirical material consists of five interviews with people who have contact with social services because they are homeless. To support my analysis of the space of action for the persons being interviewed, I?ve used two theoretical perspectives, power analysis by Michel Foucault and Rational Choice.

The primary purpose of this degree project was to investigate teachers conceptions about education for sustainable development and their education within the area. Teachers from Sweden and California have taken part and one of the aims with this study was to look if any differences could be found depending on what country the teachers came from. Therefore, this study has used a qualitative approach where conception maps and interviews have been used to get a result. Furthermore, the result showed that none of the differences that was found can be linked to the participants home country. The study also showed that several of different teaching traditions and educations philosophies was represented.

Syftet var att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor inom palliativ hemsjukvård uppfattar ochlindrar andnöd hos cancerpatienter i sen palliativ fas.Metoden var kvalitativ med fenomenografis ansnats. Sex informanter från två palliativa hemsjukvårdsteam i Mellansverige valdes ut och intervjuades.Resultatet som representerar informanternas olika uppfattningar bestod av de fem kvalitativt skilda beskrivningskategorierna:Diskrepans i uppfattningen av andnöd som vanligt förekommande och svårt.Fysiska och psykosociala faktorer orsakar andnöd.Stödjande faktorer är betydelsefulla för sjuksköterksans arbete.Känsla av osäkerhet och otillräcklighet.Medicinska åtgärder prioriteras framför omvårdnadsåtgärder.Slutsats: Studien visade att andnöd var ett komplext symtom som kräver enn mångfacetterad kompetens. Det framgår också att läkarstöd, kollegialt stöd, manualer, handledning oc erfarenhet stärkte informanternas omvårdnadsarbete och ökade förutsättningarna för att patientens andnöd lindrades på ett adekvat sätt. En god tillgång till de olika stödfaktorerna ökade dessutom informanternas möjlighet att hantera den ansträngda situation som uppstod i patientens hem. .

India is home to every sixth person in the world, some 30 million dogs and a quarter of the total world cattle population. A vast majority of Indians are Hindus, and even though the Hindu religion proclaims love, nurturing and worshipping of animals, sometimes the same religion constitutes an obstacle for animal welfare in practice. This paper investigates the significance of historic and religious symbols to the way animals are perceived in modern Indian society, as well as the different social factors which underlie attitudes to animals. The concept of karma, as well as that of good versus bad deaths, is probably the foundation of the general Hindu reluctance to euthanasia in any form. Although in theory all species are generally regarded as equal in Hinduism, in practice there seems to be a differentiation; for cultural, religious, medical and financial reasons.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka magsäcksinnehåll hos skjutna vildsvin i syd- och mellansverige för att fastställa vad vildsvinen ätit, d.v.s. om födan kom från utfodringsplatser eller från naturen, och om det kan ha betydelse för reproduktion. Även könsorganen (äggstockar och livmödrar) undersöktes för att se om det fanns ett samband mellan utfodring och reproduktion. Arbetet ingick som en del i en pilotstudie om vildsvin och reproduktion. Studien genomfördes under 2013 på fyra gårdar (fyra olika län) med egna viltslakterier för att få en spridning av insamlat material. Till dessa gårdar skickades en enkät för att få information om deras utfodring till vildsvin (typ av foder och utfodringsrutiner).

Bakgrund: Alla personer oavsett ålder har mänskliga behov som behöver tillgodoses för att personen ska kunna känna välbefinnande. Ibland tvingas en individ att flytta till ett särskilt boende på grund av särskilda behov. För en del personer kan det vara svårt att vänja sig att bo på ett särskilt boende, som kan leda till ensamhet och depression. Vården som ges till de äldre ska se till de fysiska, psykiska och sociala behoven. Det är därför relevant att fördjupa sig i vad som skulle kunna underlätta denna förändring, vilket skulle kunna vara en hund.   Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om och i så fall hur hundar påverkar äldre personer som bor på särskilt boende.
